After a night of drinking, joking, and catching up at the inn, our young heroes awaken ready to set out on their expedition through the mountains. Albeit, some rise earlier than others and no one really gets to go at the time they wished to leave. Noic's young friend Taylor does indeed attempt to tag along to no one's surprise, which is why he is quickly apprehended and sent back to finish up his morning chores.
The walk toward the mountains in the distance is uneventful. The group pass a number of small villages with not much to offer in terms of sights aside from farms and meadows. Closer to the mountains the villages take on a more rustic appearance, featuring stone quarries, log cabins, and various hunting and mining implements about.
As they pass one of the mountain villages, the group hear quick footfalls behind them. Their pursuer is quickly determined not to be a threat when they realize it is only a small human girl about five years old with a high blond ponytail.
"Does she bite?" the little girl asks in regard to Ana's dog Shadow before she attempts to pet the dog. Shadow does not seem to mind the girl's energy. "If you goin' across the mountains bring me back some flowers. My Papa says there's a huge forest with all kinds of pretty flowers over there." the child spreads her arms as wide as she can to stress the vastness of the forest. It is then that a worried woman comes running to collect the little girl, speaking of kidnapping and creatures in the mountains usually meant to scare little children from running off where they are not allowed to go, but in this case the warnings do ring very true.
The group may settle any business they may have within any of these villages before continuing on along their route through the mountains.
After a long while of walking and climbing through the rocky terrain in the heat, the group must stop to cool down.
Eventually, when the sun is low in the sky, the group must make a decision as to whether to continue on above ground, scaling the cliffs and other rocky obstacles which grow increasingly higher and steeper, or slink below by means of one of the dark and uncertain caverns that the few escapees spoke of fleeing from while their orc captors slept.
