The courtroom was a quaint, musty building nestled in the center of Salem - a thing of mahogany and worn leather. Innocuous in construction, malevolent in design. Through these doors, judgment was passed and lives were ended. It may have been simple but it was often the last thing people saw without smelling the sulfur and tar of their death pyres being lit; their last moment as free men on this earth before sent to the true judgment of God. The minister smirked, regardless of the judgment passed by the fallible laws of man on Earth he would be judged by Almighty God as right in the true end.
Carrington strode confidently to the front of the courtroom. It was fuller that usual, parishioners packed in to see what happened to the family that decided to take on the throne of God - or more accurately, the voice of God in Salem - Minister Carrington. To the left sat the accusers, Thomas and the Sykes Siblings - the Whore and the Simpleton. His boots fell heavy on the wooden floor, the courtroom attendees silenced with each step. They looked on fearful, of the wrath they had seen from the podium a hundred Sundays...fearful of the Brimstone Carrington seemed to leak from his very existence. When his tongue came untied, Blake Carrington could make even the most pious man humble with regret for not doing enough.
The Minister stopped, facing the accusers solidly, grinning. "How quaint....the sheep in wolfs clothing."
Without waiting for retort, Carrington turned as the Constable entered the room and announced the prosecutor. Even the Constable seemed meek when facing the Minister, his voice far less booming and authoritative than normal.
"The accusers will stand and recite their claims for the court and announce their evidence."
(I'll stop here for interjection or die selection.)

Trying his best to look dignified, Silence speaks first, "I'd like to tell everyone here that in my opinion it seems cowardly of the minister here to bring this before the court when a man of the stature that he claims to have should take responsibility and not waste the time of the community with his personal affairs. Now that I have said that, I am sure my sister will tell you of the shameful secret that she has borne for too long, but I suggest that the women and children cover their ears as it a sordid story."

Thomas sat in fear and silence behind the sturdy and worn oaken table next to the Sykes siblings. This has gone too far. He winced at the preacher's comment and glanced at between him and the woman he loved, one he would do anything in his power for.
What story would she tell? What secret would escape her mouth?
He licked his lips and looked hopelessly at the Preacher, Surely a man of God would make sacrifices for his flock? Would he betray my confidence and the covenant made between man and the Lord during confession?
Thomas sat dejected as the court continued.
---------------------- Hopefully that gives some wiggle room with interpretation left open for what I have in mind for my scene.

Tace swiftly rises to her feet, turning to the prosecutor with confidence, ready to state her case.
"I'll tell the court EXACTLY what happened," she begins, glancing in the Minister's direction.
"He said he would. . . He said. . . " Tace pauses, gasping for breath, her body beginning to tremble.
She struggles to continue. "He said he would save. . . "
Tace cries out as only someone in a great deal of excruciating pain might. She falls to the floor screaming in agony and terror, her gaze locked on the Minister. "It burns, he burns my tongue so I cannot speak" She forces the words out as she struggles to breath. "Devil, leave me be!" she shudders on the courtroom floor

(really? Going historical on me? :-) fair enough let's see where this charade goes...)
Blake Carrington watches the woman convulse on the floor uncontrollably. A convincing performance to be certain, were he not filled with the truth of this lie he may begin a convincing sermon to save this woman's soul right now. But Minister Carrington knows exactly what she's doing. He watches just long enough to where it becomes uncomfortable and perhaps even a little clearer that she may be performing. He waits for the gasps and moans of the crowd to turn to the low murmuring whispers of disbelief.
"Constable, these are bold accusations from a family in dire need. If I truly am capable of delivering the devil than I submit to judgment now. I have cared for the village of Salem like it was my family since I came here over three decades ago."
He settles his cold gaze on Silence and his sister.
"And that includes my accusers here today. Despite their words I know that God is truly in their hearts and in mine and we can get past this. I offer them one last chance to repent now or face true judgment in the eyes of God."
"If they wish to continue this performance I will offer the court evidence that will surely absolve me and earned them a place on the stake..."

[White Die? My suggestion:
Silence, with great concern for his clearly touched sister says some offensive stuff about the preacher and his lack of Christian compassion.
The constable gives the preacher the benefit of the doubt being he is the preacher and the Sykes aren't exactly the most reputable of folks and says something like, "Accusations such as these are not matters that can easily be taken back. If you have evidence, then present it to the court so that we me judge of the truth."
On a side note, I've been inspired for a great idea for my scene, hopefully I'll be able to use it by the time my turn comes!]

(yah kman, since we're all noobs to this, except lin, and not at table, I had to act fast since they put the whole thing on me and they were the ones to accuse you. I wanted more scenes to figure out how to best lie or what to say lolol )
--------------------
When the preacher turns his attention away from her, Tace can begin to settle down as clearly he isn't trying to hurt her anymore.
I think white dice for carrington too, unless the entity of the crowd turns against or doubts the minister, which isn't likely...YET, wahahahaha.

Minister Carrington looks around the room, judging, eying the attendees cautiously. All of them parishioners in his church, all of them sheep seeking his protection and the loving word of God on every Sunday. And yet here they stood, wondering, doubting the Ministers fidelity on the word of a simpleton and his sister, backed by a failing Christian. Only the true Centurion of Faith would prevail here, only the Truth would work. Carrington digs into his pockets and produces a small silken bag, knotted closed. He strides across the room and gently places the bag before the Constable - his boot echoing with thundering righteousness in each step. He remains before the Constable as the man cautiously opens the bag. The Constable gasps and covers his mouth, recoiling in horror. He drops the bag and the tip of a withered, severed finger rolls gently into view on his mahogany desk. It is clearly the finger of a child, the wrinkled and decaying skin stretched taught over young bones like so many needlepoint projects of the women in Salem. There, clearly on the finger, is a darkened birthmark in the shape of a star. "THERE IS YOUR PROOF!" Carrington roars, spinning on his heels an leveling a judgmental finger at Taciturn. "Proof of her infidelity and her carnal lust outside the holy vows of wedlock! Their child came into this world not by my hand, but by that of the only other person in Salem to bear such a mark!" Cold eyes settle on Thomas Hobarn - sparkling orbs of revenge beneath a dark broad brimmed hat. "The Sykes family intended to drag me into their pool of lust and fornication...to blame their inability to walk the path of the Lord on the Devil - which, they claim, I exposed them to! CHARLATANS! HEATHENS! Minister Carrington assumes his Sunday rhetoric here in the courthouse. "I am the voice of God in Salem, I alone am without taint and above reproach!" He walks confidently back to the accused side of the courtroom. He crosses his arms, fuming, eyes like roaring flames approaching a dry timberline. "Tell Thomas....are they still hazel?"
I know Lin said I jumped the gun and by all means, if I go to far, let me know. I'm just learning here. If I need to edit, let me know. I went with the illegitimate love child and the boy that died, really the only way to prove it in these times I suppose.

[You didn't necessarily jump the gun, but you moved the plot ahead very quickly and the backstory is still vague and tricky to build on. That's fine though, because you did the best thing you can do in a Fiasco scene: you added an important piece of plot that other players can build on. If other people aren't ready to continue the court scene, they can do flashbacks to provide context to the current drama.
Personally, I'm completely satisfied with this scene and Yakumo is up!
