[Artemis is inspiring me to post some of my own poetry, but it is at K-man's request that I post this one. It's actually (blushing here) won a few awards]
In the Night
You claim that I'm your confidant Your life, your breath, your sanity. And yet you also call me child, And claim my feelings naught but dreams.
Yet in the night, when we are side by side Innocent though we may be You dare not call me young, nor child Only then do you see me as a woman, as equal
Why is love so complicated? It's not like it takes special circumstance Young or old, bold or shy The longings of the heart and mind are the same.
In the night, everything changes. Fates intertwine, lovers emerge; Bodies and minds are as one with another Passion drowning all doubts.
They say that love conquers all, And I've always doubted that phrase. Until, in the night, you took me in your arms And promised me, not the world...
But your own love for mine.

I say again... I am VERY impressed Sonnet...and, unusual for me, I lack the vocabulary to express my elation for having this peice here. Thank you.

Thank you. Your comments are very kind. This was a painful poem for me to write, so I find comfort in the notoriety it has recieved.

I am truly impressed and it's good to see a true poet or poetess in this case. It is filled with such emotions that I do not have a word for. i give it Two thumbs up.

Sorry guys, but I had to tell. I got my book yesterday with my published poem in it, and I'm totally psyched about it. ;D There's some really good one's in there, so I'll comb through and see if there are some for the boards.

But I'm jealous you're a published author and I'm not... Still though... Let us know if you find something.

i've submitted two stories to publishers by email now. got one back the next day saying no, still waiting for the second. i intend to send all of them off to various magazines, then switch them over when they get rejected.

*Shakes Fists* ....those bastards... Don't know what they're missing do they? Out of curiousity, which ones did you submit, and why was the one rejected? Keep us posted man, one of us here has to make it.

i submitted silence and where the spirit dwells. silence was rejected quickly, as it has been in the past. i think i need to work on character development, they said it was a little dry and needed more to make you want to read the good details i had included. still awaiting the verdict on where the spirit dwells, the story with the chromosones.

Don't worry Zarni. Stay strong in the struggle, and annoy the hell out of them. Eventually, they'll catch on. If not, you could just kidnap the president of the publishing company...
