We're coming up on NaNoWriMo time! While I've heard of this, I've never done it before (write a novel in one month). This year I'm going to try it. So if you're one of those people who like a challenge and you are also one of those people who outline and stuff, might want to get started now! (You can't start writing until November 1, but you can plan, outline, character sketch etc. beforehand).

Sounds intriguing to say the least. There are two sides to me in this scene. Side 1 - "The Ego" - "Come on man, we can do this. Shit, we write more than this a month with just the postings we do here..." Side 2 - "The Pansy" - "Dude...we can't do this. People will laugh at us, people will scorn us...our writing will suffer and we won't get posts up in time cause we'll be working on this...it's not worth it..." It will be interesting to see what side of me wins. Zarni, you gonna enter?

i don't have time to write that kind of thing right now, interesting developments are afoot... i'll let you know soon, but it could be good. very good. besides, it takes a lot to write a novel anyway, let alone in one month, and i don't think i could write a novel at all. i certainly don't value quantity over quality, and reckon it seems a little immature to waste time spewing drivel just for the sake of it. when i write it's because have an idea, not because i specifically want to write something, anything. seems to me to take the art from the art form. i reckon 'individuality' could have novel potential some day, but i'll leave that on for now till i have more time and have done more research. i'll keep you informed....

Alright you can't just pop in like that...I could construe those statements to be so many things...
"I got an offer from a publisher..."
"I'm writing the next Davinci Code..."
Etc etc...
Oh, and also, the 'novel' is only 50k words...about 1/2 as long as a 'real' novel

I'm curious.
Who participated, and how'd you do?
(I didn't participate this year, but I have in previous years....still have yet to write 50,000 words in a month.)
