Something I found in one of my old notebooks hope you enjoy it
Dark Desire
Sitting here all alone, Light forever be unknown, Twisted thoughts fill my mind, Dark desires come in time,
Lust for life fills my soul, Feel the need to know, To run to go through the air, To fall to hurt to live without care,
Dark desires fill my soul, Wanting nothing more than to let go, Lose myself in the rhyme, Of a song as old as time,
Look into the darkness within lies a light, Soon snuffed out without a fight, Give into your dark desires, Feel the darkness lift you higher
The darkness surrounding me, Calling me holding me filling me, Giving into dark desires, Feel the darkness lift you higher,
Look beyond the night’s darkness, To forget life’s harshness, Give into dark desires, And look within to find the light, Soon to be snuffed out but not without a fight,
Darkest night and candlelight, Peering though the all consuming night, All light forever be blight, Darkness darkness, it do not fight,
Welcome it instead into your life, Feel the sweetest caresses of the night, The soft sweet kiss of darkness lingering on your cheek, The silky caress of darkness touching your skin softly
Passionless
The roaring flames begin to die, As the tears begin to dry, Slowly the embers extinguish, So does the heart languish,
Cold and desolate the night, Remembering when the flames burned bright, Slowly all turns gray, When she left me that cold autumn day.

i take it they were written back in the days when you did still fit into the category of 'angsty teenager'.

Artemis,
You ever listen to such bands as Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills or Nine Inch Nails?

TheZebraCakes loves all those bands to my dismay.
But, I'm thinking the real reason she likes Stabbing Westard is Christopher Halls soul penetrating hotness.
Which, I guess, is still to my dismay.
Good thing they don't exist anymore.

Funny story about Chris Hall:
Back in Highschool I had a friend that was WAY obsessed with him, so she goes to a concert at one of Denver's smaller clubs and manages to actually hug him (or something similar, I forget). Needless to say she vowed to never wash anything that touched him ever again. After a week her parents forced her to bathe, thank gods, but she remained vigilant that no force on earth could ever make her wash her jacket.
As long as we were friends she never did wash it, but since we've lost touch I can only wonder if she ever did.
My only true life experience regarding the "soul penetrating hotness" of Christopher Hall.

I have yet to be penetrated, Soul or otherwise by Chris Hall. Thankfully... Glad to hear someone else likes them... (Thanks Zebra!) and sorry Lin, that your dismay must continue.

It's just funny that he should mention those exact three bands and no others.
What's that saying about me?
I think I'd wash after being touched by Christopher Hall, but I'd make sure that he was there to join in the experience with me. "cause although he's not the most pleasant person to be around, I think we could start a little Manifest Destiny of our own.
He has a new band now, The Dreaming, so it is still possible for his soul penetrating hotness to take hold of more young females.
I tried to write angsty poems when I was a teen, but they always came out all wrong. I think I was trying to hard.

i take it they were written back in the days when you did still fit into the category of 'angsty teenager'. Back in the days? What are you talking about? I'm still trying to get over this angsty teenager thing. Heck I'm only 18 dude. Artemis, You ever listen to such bands as Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills or Nine Inch Nails? I like them all and a few others like Disturbed, Perfect Circle, Tantric, Nirvana and a lot of other non angsty "I hate you all" bands like Sting, Joe Satriani, Maroon 5, Chemical Brothers, Glenn Miller, Whitesnake, Shinedown to name a few
