All but Romar Basically - As Caelith tries to retain order in the keep by pulling those not gawking at the scene unfolding outside, he hears the duke muttering nearby on a pile of hay, slumped and defeated.
"The only thing that would bring comedy to this situation would be to defend the keep with the main gate open and bridge down..."
"Damned fools...let 'The Master' have them..."
Hero takes her weapon and aims, yelling for support as she looses the projectile.
"Everyone who can lift a bow, get up here now and lay down covering fire."
Girud, out in the field and faced with a teeth-gnashing ghoul, brings his sword around to strike. {Attack Roll = 22} {Damage Roll = 13} The ghouls body can do little to resist the strike, crumpling like a frail wooden frame as the bones snap and the flesh is torn.
Ghoul3 is dead.
Yuri loads his crossbow and fires into the darkened treeline. {Attack Roll = 9} You're unsure of the bolts final resting place, but you see nothing drop from the treeline so you can assume the shot did not find a target.
Galdren takes his attacks at the ghoul before him. The ghoul had already rushed across the grass to meet the warrior, a fatal mistake and Galdren is a talented swordsman. {Attack Rolls = 7, 21} Only the Wakizashi lands, doing little damage. {Damage Roll = 6}
Ghoul4 is near death.
The ghoul that brought Sehanine down leans over and grabs the elf by the ankle, turning and dragging her body into the treeline.
You wonder if she will ever be seen again...
The last ghoul remaining takes his attacks on Galdren. {Attack Rolls = 19, 14, 12} {Damage Roll = 4} {Fortitude Save vs. Paralysis = 23} You feel the ichor of the ghouls bite course through your veins, but you shake the effects nearly instantly.
{Fortitude Save Vs. Ghoul Fever = 11}
You do, however, feel your blood begin to slow from some secondary effect.
The archers that lined the wall with Hero loose their arrows into the treeline, not wanting to risk the striking of any party members. {Attack Rolls = 14, 14, 6, 8, 22 [crit. confirm, success], 11, 6, 6, 18, 21, 21.} {Damage rolls = 4, 5, 13, 7, 5, 2}
With the hail of arrows, three small figures drop from the treeline...dead. A few others stagger to their knees.
Krysta takes the horses and bursts through the rear gate, making a dead run to get to those outside.
{You will arrive at the end of next round Krysta.}
Callian moves to the last wounded Ghoul and strikes. {Attack Roll = 23} {Damage Roll = 7} The ghoul collapses to the ground in a heap.
Ghoul4 is dead.
The party members outside the keep pause for a second, their heart racing with the thoughts of what lies in wait in the treeline.
Then it happens...
Over twenty figures rush forth from the woods, mainly kobolds and goblins, but you do see the taller figures of orcs and even some more of the hunched ghouls racing out as well. This was a well placed ambush for anyone leaving the keep...
{You all were sixty feet from the treeline...perfect charging distance...}
Girud is charged by two small goblins that have wickedly sharp shortswords. {Attack Rolls = 17, 21} {Damage Rolls = 7, 6 } Girud falls to the ground hard, swarmed by dozens of small figures.
Galdren hears the wicked cackles of two kobolds that come screaming across the fields with short spears at the ready. {Attack Rolls = 17, 6} One kobold manages to drive his sharpened spear into Galdren's leg, spewing blood forth. {Damage Roll = 4}
Callian sees a goblin waving his short sword above his head followed by a kobold weilding a wickedly pointed small mace. {Attack Rolls = 19, 5} {Damage Roll = 4} The goblin moves the edge of his blade across Callian's leg, making a deep wound with the blade.
Balin is the last to be rushed by two kobolds with spears. {Attack Rolls = 17, 18} {Damage Rolls = 6, 4} The kobolds scream into the night filled with rage.
Looking around, you see that you are now nearly surrounded by the force that rushed from the woods. This will be a hard fight...
{This is the situation. Only two charges each since I figured the force was rushing from the treeline and only two could line up for a straight charge at a time...the rest just moved to threatened. Those of you outside the keep on the ground, are now threatened and surrounded with Krysta coming from behind with two horses. There are 24 attackers here, with about 5-6 on each of you. Girud is down by my calculations.}

Romar - Dodging and weaving, you try to lose the vampire with erratic movements. {Ride Check = 18} The vampire seems to drop from your wake as you break drastically to the right and steer off away from the vampire. You straighten out again, spotting the vampire still running beside you thirty feet to your side but moving much slower as he appears to concentrate.
He appears to be staring at Húna's eyes.

Húna begins to slow until she comes to a complete stop. She remains motionless, staring with glazed eyes towards the figure walking towards her.
The vampire appears to have established some control of the horse...
