Hero and Garor - Master Magmire stumbles a bit, his words coming in stutters. "M-m-maura. T-t-t-the other girl ye m-m-mentioned."The dwarven head of the household sidesteps your gazes and heads to the door. He opens it and looks upon a lanky figure behind the door. It's Callian... Callian - {What do you want to say?} ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Newt and Angelus - After your near barfight and rather rousing look into a boys life, you find yourselves outside the Gold Vein, wondering what to do next. Didn't Caelith and Callian say they were heading to the other tavern? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Caelith - The man you grab by the collar nods and walks towards the door. Perhaps he had seen you come into town and knows you to be an ambassador, but he seems to regard you with respect and barely questions your demand. He doesn't even regard you offering to buy his drink. The innkeeper goes on with his story. "Nothing in particular, he just didn't feel right, being a miner and letting a someone use the minerals in the earth to travel."
"He said, on numerous times, 'If everyone travels like this, all mining will stop...' He didn't seem angry, just drunken talk..."
"Listen friend, it's been interesting and all, but I have books to attend to. Help yourself to a drink, it's on the house...for the company."The innkeeper dismisses himself and heads into a back room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Krysta, Girud and Galdren - Moving to your boats, all is secured and Irinys speaks to those addressing him. "You're welcome Galdren. Were it not for you, I fear my men would have been forced to leave the crystal with the refugees and fight the soliders on their own."
"It is the least we can do for your service."The boats push off and the two day journey down the small river to the sea begins. You lazily drift down the river, the elves offering extra bows to those that need them. during guard duties and the refugees collapse on the boats, finally resting after their ordeal. The first day of travel is relatively safe, with little seen on the embankments or treelines to suspect anything. Is is the following night that you meet your first problem. Mordrock, between his loud snoring and adorations of Krysta, manages to get in a little scouting with his eyesight from the lead boat. A little after dusk, he looks over the calm waters of the lazy river and motions quietly to the others in the lead boat. He jabs a grubby finger over the darkened water and sneers. "Something under water...big and waiting for us."An elven guard confirms, scanning the waters. "He's rights...it's huge. What will we do?"------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sehanine, Yuri and Romar - {I will wait on Yuri too...I just wanted to move others along.} __________________________________________________________________________________________

"Come Newt let us find the others. Maybe they have better luck we did." Angelus starts to move to the other tavern his hand resting warily upon the hilt of his sickle

Krysta drifts off, in the comfort of the boat. Her fears are pushed aside to the longing pain of sleep and rest.
She awakens to the familiar sound of her father's voice. When she opens her eyes, she finds herself in a clearing, with trees and flowers. Her father is standing before her, in all his glory. His tall stature and broad shoulders show the heavy burden he has had to carry by watching over their small town. It is then that she sees his eyes. Cold and lifeless. The ever familiar glint of kindness long faded. The sun is then blocked by the clouds, and when this happens, she sees him for what he really is. A cold panic takes place in her heart, as she watches her father before her. His body now twitching and convulsing. It seems as though he is fighting with himself. Suddenly he glances up to her, and the small hint of life appears.
"You must save them Krysta. It is within your power to offer aid to the weak and help to bring an end to the Master. Do not give up! I am lost now, but find comfort in that with my last breath, I wished for your safety."
The dullness of death srpings back into his eyes, and the outstretched arms reach for her. It is apparent that this creature that once was her father is now among the Master's troops. She brandishes her sword, trying to defend herself. Then the creature reaches its hand out, with an outstretched finger. She tries to defend herself, but can not muster the strength to attack her father.
Krysta wakes suddenly to The Rock's nudging, as he puts his finger to his mouth, motioning for her to be quiet. When she hears of the thing in the river, waiting for them, she whispers to the others, "I say we make for the banks, secure the boats, and see what if the creature leaves. If it does, then we can be on our way. If not, we might wait for the morning and travel by light. Perhaps it is only hostile at night. I would not like to lose the crystal to the river!"
She waits for the others to reply, reaching out to touch the crystal for added strength. Her bow is ready, with an arrow notched just in case. If the creature emerges, she will shoot at it.

"Good idea. I don't want to be caught in a small boat such as this when a monster such as that attacks us. WHile we are in its element, we are doomed, but if we can get ashore, we will have the advantage."

I nod to my companions and look for a place to immediately run the boats aground.
Assuming there is a suitable spot get the boats, people and crystal out of the water ASAP.
In case it hasn't happened lately I also touch the crystal for the strength boost.

(OOC: All appoligies for not responding, life kinda got in the way of things ie; work, work, and yet even more work....)
Being cautions by the greeting, Yuri moves towards the crystal. Taking out his notes from examining the previous crystal at Ravenshead, he begins his examination. While he examines the crystal, he makes this statement:
My appoligies for the sudden intrusion, I had to search for some useful items. Unfortunately, I turned up empty handed. I slipped in as a gaseous form. I'm sure Sehanine told you I would arrive at the moon's peak yes?

Caelith nods thankfully to the innkeeper for the free drink, and calmly keeps to himself while waiting for Camir, choosing to save the free drink for the fellow who fetched Camir - despite how the man seemed unwilling to accept it. Caelith will try all the same.
When Angelus and Newt enter, Caelith perks up a bit, motioning for them to approach. Assuming they do, Caelith speaks to them in quiet tones. "I have discovered much that may help us piece this theft together. I've sent Callian to the others to inform them, as our information ties into happenings at the Magmire Estate." For brevity's sake, Caelith proceeds to explain about Maura and what the innkeeper let on about Magmire.
"I suggest we stay quiet for the time being, as Maura is not supposed to meet this Traylara for a while yet. I've sent for Camir to inform him that we should thoroughly investigate the Magmire Estate. I'm fairly certain these missing pieces will turn up there. No need to raise the alarm here, just yet - I would prefer to handle this matter quietly, if at all possible." He frowns. "I foresee some trouble with Magmire, however. These girls - they are but youths, I do not think they were truly behind this. But even if we right the wrong now, Magmire will probably have to be dealt with to prevent a future theft."
He pauses. "Assuming I'm right about this matter, anyway." The elven noble chooses to largely ignore this possibility in true elven fashion.

With his actions and words combined Yuri managed to surprise Romar even though he was on his guard for almost anything, coming from an undead creature. Largely he seems to ignore him, or at least any accusation that was made in his direction. For a brief while Romar observes the inquisitive and strange individual, not knowing how to really react. He looks to Sehanine with some confusion in his eyes and tries to find answers on what to do from her.
His hands now stroke and turn nervously around the hilts of both his swords. It is, after all, a vampire, who is, to top it all, now leaning over one of the crystals...
...as a Gaseous form. I'm sure Seha... He seemed to mention it as if he admits being a vampire without feeling any regrets or emotion. Romar's eyes narrow.
"Yes, Sehanine told me when you would arrive, as she also made clear to me the reason you would arrive at said time... How dare you, Son of the Night, walk into this stronghold of dwarves and loom over one of their most valuable objects as if nothing happened?"
He gives a quick look to Sehanine, as to pass a message non-verbally saying: "Don't you see he has no remorse and he is our ally no longer?"

Quickly stepping in between Romar and Yuri, I begin to speak frantically as I catch both Romar's nervous hands and his gaze. My tone is one of flippancy, yet underneath I cannot contain her conflict completely. I place a single hand on Romar's chest as I lean in to whisper to him:
Do you not see the notes in his hands? He did the same in Ravenshead. Crystals are obviously his study, as with all scholars. Secrecy is needed here, for how would we ever convince the dwarves to trust him? You knew him before the change and are prejudiced...
I hesitate, almost as if in regret for what I am about to say, then steel my resolve and say it before I lose my nerve...
Should you meet your brother, undead upon the masters battlefields, could you slay him so easily, and with as little guilt as you display now?
I cast my eyes downward, as I know what my own response to the question is...

Yuri temporarily puts away his notes and turns to Romar. Son of the Night? What sort of nonsence is that? If I were so, you would have become one of the Master's own by now. I asked if everyone was alright, and I got no response. How else should I react? Now if you will excuse me, I have to find out if this crystal is the same as the one in Ravenshead. Now don't interrupt me again....With this being said, he continues with his findings. [shadow=red,left,300]Not now ranger, anytime but now....[/shadow] (OOC: Bluff like a mofo +10, yes, DEFINITELY for the dwarves. Don't wanna die again )

To put it blunt, Sehanine hits Romar where it hurts with her last words. As if feeling a physical blow he steps backwards from her. He suddenly feels exhausted, and he breaths heavily. Then he barks back, like a dog defending his territory but knowing he's been driven to a last stand, though he keeps his voice low. "You can't compare Maros with him! How dare you? I was there when he fell, and he fought to his death to stop the advance of the Master at the battle of Carealal! Now you compare him with Yuri who, as far as anybody can know, laughed while he was being subverted to the dark side?
And now he stands there denying everything you just told me! He doesn't even bother to give an explanation." I'm sorry, I don't want to cause any Player kills, and hence my question; do you find my actions (as Romar) still acceptable or would you out of game prefer me too just twitch it a little? (Which would be no problem for me honoustly) Just don't want to upset anyone... Great comparison btw Sonnet

[No way! I'm loving this character conflict... unless we're driving Kman crazy]
Speaking up, I lose my temper truly for the first time since faced with Mordred...
Explanations? Here? Is that prudent, really? To declare his own death while we are surrounded? I put both hands up as both a signal of resignation, and defeat.
Perhaps my statement was unfair, but we don't have time for this. Attack him, or let him go. But by all the gods that I hold holy I'm through with both of you and your bickering. Follow me, or waste time here.
I move over to Yuri, pushing past him to touch the crystal for whatever effect it may give. I then move towards the gate to the dark, alone if need be, rolling my eyes in anger. I'm fed up with the males in the party, and tired of being the peacemaker with memories of my mother and father so raw in my head.
Tianna, help me! Now I know why the Siandon family has been all single women...

As it is apparent that the others agree to go ashore, Krysta tells the goblin to keeep an eye on the creature, and warn of any changes. "Keep at least one archer on each boat on lookout for the shore and any enemy." she whispers.

Romar feels for now he is obliged to the dwarves to agree with Sehanine and time is short. He sighs as he concludes this, and touches the crystal, but makes sure he remains safely out of reach of the vampire in their midst, all the while never loosing him out of his vision. While he touches it and gains any strengths it might give, he says:
"Sorry Sehanine, you must know that I want no conflict with you. My outburst wasn't fair either. But indeed, we have no time for this now.
And as for you," he says to Yuri with anger in his eyes while he starts to follow Sehanine, "I am not done with you yet."
