Hero, Garor and Callian - Master Magmire again begins to stutter. [Garor Sense Motive Check] The reason for this is clear...he's lying.
"I-I-I d-d-don't know anything about the m-m-missing p-p-parts!"
The Dwarf stammers, his eyes darting back and forth. He gives pause for a moment, and acts quickly.
[Spot Checks, Hero, Garor and Callian Vs. DC 15. Hero success.]
Master Magmire reaches into his inner pocket and pull something into view. It's a wand.
A little longer than a foot, it is a dulled brass rod ending in an brilliant azure jewel and seems to sparkle with energy from within. He points it at you and your party with the intent to use it.
Magmire sneers, his noble facade fading quickly.
"I'm sorry for this, but ye leave me no choice. Traylara, come here."
It appears as though the noble dwarf has plans for the small elven maiden...and intends to harm you if you do otherwise.
{Initiative: Hero, Magmire.}
{Garor and Callian, you will get to roll Init. next round to respond. Right now, Traylara is 5 ft. to the side of you three and Magmire is 10ft. away.}
{And Hero, here's a chance to draw your sword. }
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newt, Angelus and Caelith - [Newt, you will arrive at Magmire's in two rounds.] Newt excuses himself and Camir studies Caelith with cautious eyes. He motions to the outdoors, walking to towards them.
"Of course ambassador. What is it you need to speak of?"
The parton you sent earlier, shows mild signs of panic. He appears to have had the intent to eavesdrop on the conversation at the very least.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krysta, Girud and Galdren - Galdren, holding his wounds as they bleed profusely, staggers away from the beast, leaving others to fight it on the shores of the river.
Mordrock remains behind the elves, maintaining a failing aura of machismo.
The beast is now faced by Krysta, what it consider a new meal. It open its maw wide and goes to pull her into its mouth. [Attack Rolls = 8, 19] The second tentacle slaps across her neck, leaving a thick mucus. [Damage Roll = 9]
The beast failed to bring her into its maw, but the tail is still free...
[Attack Roll = 25, Damage Roll = 14, Pushback] The tail is broad and thick, slapping Krysta back ten feet with resounding force.
[Krysa, Total Damage = 23, higher than 5 HP left. Remember, you were pushed back 10 ft. and must move into attack again, denying second attack.]
Krysta, undaunted moves back into attack. [Attack Roll = 2, Damage roll = 15] The blade dids deep, tearing free a piece of scaled skin.
Mudmaw is severly wounded. (34)
Irinys again commands his people to fire, raining wooden shafts upon the strange beast. [Attack Rolls = 2 successes. Damage Rolls = 7, 4] Two arrows land cleanly in the beasts' side, sending into a blind rage.
Mudmaw is near death. (45)
Girud, last to act, charges across the glade, dropping his bow and brandishing his sword. [Attack Roll = 32, Damage Roll = 19] The blade splices the beasts jaw and skull neatly in two.
Mudmaw is dead. (64)
With a smal tidal wave, the bulk of the beast collapses to the ground and its tentacles fall limp. The eyes roll back into the head and the last of its breath comes out in an exasperated gasp.
Irinys commands his men to stand down and inspect the area for others. He moves over towards you all, looking specifically to Galdren.
"We have limited healing left, but I can help those of you that require it."
You look to the dark waters of the river and hope, if the healing is limited, that these horrible beasts only travel by themselves.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sehanine, Yuri and Romar - Marg escorts you all to the door, ignoring any comments or further discussion of the crystal. It appears as though he is now focused on saving the life of his king.
"Luck be with ye all...I'll be prayin' for yer return."
He pauses before a massive set of double doors that have the healthiest looking dwarves before them. They stand aside and prepare to slide a massive bar across to allow you past. The dwarves quickly slide the bar open, past one door, allowing the other to open.
They draw it back and you can see it goes to a hallway, heading to the right and to the left. It is a dark tunnel, littered both with bits of armor and arrow shafts...
{Remember, those touching the crystal benefit from +4 AC for the next hour.}
