Hero, Garor and Callian - [There will be a battlemat in the next post, so sit tight.]
Hero rushes down the hallway, drawing her blade and bringing it down on the dwarven master. She screams an alarm as she does so.[Attack Roll = 12] The blade slices into a parlor table. Missing Master Magmire.
"I warned you!! Move Traylara!!"
The Dwarf stabs his wand before him. He clicks a small button on the side of the wand and a blast of energy shoots from the end of the wand. It crackles through the air, shooting down the hallway, hitting most within.
[Based on Battle mat below, I see Callian and Hero getting hit with it.]
[Ref. Save, Hero, Callan = 22, 16] Both of you manage to dodge to bolt of lightning, but it still singes your skin and armor. [Damage Roll = 25, 1/2 = 12]
Traylara quickly moves to her masters side, hugging his arm tightly.
{Iniative: Hero, Magmire, Garor, Callian.}
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angelus and Caelith - [Spot Check, Angelus] The patron remains within the bar, knowing his place very well. Camir nods, listening intently to all you say.
"Excellent work ambassador, and I agree on all stated. I will round some of my men and we will confront Master Magmire now."
"Jotto! Remul!"
Camir calls into the streets for his men, ones he assume should be nearby. Looking around, the streets are unusually devoid of the watch...frighteningly so. Camir also sees this after calling out a few more names and getting nothing more than idle stares from those in the streets.
Eventually such a passerby mutters the only response he knows.
"He went to Magmire's Camir...minutes ago."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Newt - Approaching the sprawling dwarven estate, you are shocked to see that it crawls with countless soldiers of the watch.
Apparently Magmire has already been 'sniffed' out...
The city watch is heading towards his doors, twelve men in all.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krysta, Girud and Galdren - Irinys nods approvingly of Galdren's sacrifice. He motions to the area and its surrounds.
"We all could use rest. We'll shall remain here and secure an area to sleep. I'll have my men scan the grounds."
The elven prince walks away, shouting commands into the night. The refugess huddle together, afraid and shuddering, fearing another attack.
Mordrock finally picks himself up, puffing out his chest as though he had committed a brave deed. He walks over to help Krysta and Girud move the dead beast, running away when a leg shudders as though the beast has reanimated.
Turning the beast over, using the might all of you can muster, you stab through its stomach and open it wide. Just as your blade hits the end of the torso, you hear the distinct sound of metal striking metal...
Pulling aside the flesh, you find a partially digested, fully armored knight...and no signs of The Master's forces. You relax a little, but puzzle over the figure in the beasts stomach.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sehanine, Yuri and Romar - Moving into the tunnel, the Dwarves are quick to mutter silent blessings and shut the door behind you, sliding the massive bar into place. You crouch down, attempting to find anything.
[Spot and Listen Checks, Romar] You hear little, save for a strange clinking noise in the distance...the forges? You also see nothing out of the ordinary.
[Search Check, Romar] A quick scan of the items around you adds to your initial belief - a mighty stand took place here. Arrows shafts of the Drow, Duergar hammers and aces...Dwarven armor and the flames of the high clerics all litter the hallway. With such chaos, you're surprised they made it out at all.
Also...there are no bodies. A strange occurence for such a mighty conflict.
You look round, behind you and before you, finding nothing to suggest that anything is nearby.
{Want to go on? Change light source? Tactics etc?}
