Hero, Garor, Callian, Angelus, Caelith - Callian drops, placing his hand on Magmire's face, trying to heal the damage. [All you got? By my count, that's 12. Magmire is at 5.] The Dwarf groggily opens his eyes, looking around. He begins to mutter something, just as the acid on his face continues to sizzle. [2nd Round Acid Damage = 8] He falls to the ground, again lifeless...
Magmire is a -3.
Camir shouts.
"Are you trying to torture him?! Leave the body, I shall see it policed!"
Barely hearing the words of the others, Camir responds absentmindedly.
"Fifteen men, sometimes more in times of need. You see a dozen of them here, the other three must be elsewhere...."
"The paladin is right, they must face justice...I cannot allow this to go unpunished...Magmire dead...guards need to be replaced...."
Camir seems to be in a more of an external monologue than anything else. He becomes ignorant of the dying Magmire, of the surrendered guards and seemingly of anything else. He murmurs to himself unintelligibly for a few seconds before he seems to come to a decision.
"Ambassadors. I would ask you to assist me in escorting these men to the cells where they will face justice."
"I will contact Sturmguard for replacements and it is our best interest if this event goes away quietly."
If possible, Camir looks condescendingly at Angelus and simultaneously shameful that, in his position, he did not catch this horrid ring of business.
The young Captain awaits a reponse...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newt - The dirty young girls crawl out of blanket piles and furs towards the cellar doors, but they give pause when you pose your questions. They look back and forth to each other, questioning your approach. One of them, a slightly older girl finally speaks.
"You're not a customer? Magmire didn't send you?"
The girls await your nod that you are indeed, not affiliated with Magmire. Once you confirm it, you are quite literally rushed to the ground by just under ten young girls that are elated to be rescued and happy they no longer have to live the life that the Dwarf put them in...
[Spot Check, Newt] Out of the corner of your eye, you spot a burlap sack that bulges strangely...like it's full of machinery cogs...
The girls weep and cry, thankful they have finally been rescued.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krysta, Girud and Galdren - Aldolpho smiles meekly as you take the items and swear your oath. He stares at the ground, recalling more of his dead friend.
"Malvius' grandfather was a founding member of our order. He was also the greatest undead hunter in the land. Malvius' father continued the tradition of smoting the wicked undead, but devoted more time to the order than to his practice. Malvius also devoted much to the order, losing more of the family lineage."
"However, the knowledge was passed from family member to family member. Malvius' grandfather had hunted powerful undead and knew much of them. He knew that most undead were usually controlled by more powerful undead and the more powerful the undead, the harder they were to kill...again."
Aldolpho chuckles at his own joke.
"Malvius' grandfather knew that most powerful undead were that way willingly, and often went to great measure to ensure their life force could never be snuffed out. They place souls in boxes, gems, decanters...even in other people to prevent death from reaching them permanently. Malvius tooks his family's ideals and followed them, believing The Master was some sort of vampire that had housed his soul in a box...a coffin or something somewhere."
"Malvius felt that the war would be in vain when The Master was finally reached and those that lost their lives slaying him, were karmically slapped in the face when he reappeared, several minutes later...unharmed. He believed so strongly in such ideals that he left the sanctitiy of this city in search of the item that housed The Master's true soul."
"I don't know how much faith I put in the idea...but if Malvius' died for his beliefs, it's enough for me..."
The knights again become solemn in rememberance. The aged knight turns to Kryta, answering her next.
"The crystals are a strange phenomena to be certain. The ones here seem to grant great strength and ability to use weaponry. We know nothing of such crystals, nor do we know about legends of them. Malvius did not believe The Master's soul could be housed in any of them as they are much older and much more ancient than any of The Master's exploits. I'm sorry we do not know more."
"One thing we do know..." Aldolpho explains. "...is how to look regal."
The aged knight snaps a finger and two knights grab a nearby chest and lay it down near the campfire, they kick open the lid and inside you see all manner of royal garments neatly folded inside. Aldolpho goes on to explain why knights carry such regal garb.
"During our flight from the Citadel, we could no take our warhorses or chariots as those were the first things The Master attacked, knowing our prowess with them. So the knights that escaped took merchant carriages and personal horses."
"One of them was a merchant that sold clothing to nobles..."
The aged knight smiles.
"You're welcome to them. Men, women and even some built for larger folk are in there...but you might pressed to find anything that fits Girud over there."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sehanine, Yuri and Romar - Romar moves again, trying to break free of the powerful hold on him. [Will Save, Success] He finally breaks free, shaking loose the powerful hold. [The Will Save comes at the end of your round, so next round you can act freely.]
Yuri moves, leaping on the neck of the nearest Drow. [Attack Roll = 21, Damage Roll = 8] He sinks his teeth into the Drow, but nothing comes free...no lifeblood, no fluid runs through their veins.
Drow 3 is near death.
The two Drow bring their fists down, trying to hit Yuri. [Attack Rolls = 20, 19] Both attacks miss the quick moving vampire.
Sehanine tries to break free. [Will Save, Success] She too, is able to break free of the hold, ready to act next round.
The Drow remain expressionless, cold and uncaring...
{Initiative: Romar, Yuri, The Drow, Sehanine.}
[Two Drow left - one near death, the other wounded.]
