Hero, Garor, Callian, Angelus, Caelith and Newt - [Angelus, Theld will allow two spells from his library. He has all 1st - 3rd. Other than that, you will have to ask OOC specifics.]
Theld looks to each of you, seemingly hurt that his machine does not have the total faith of all in the party. He scours and motions towards the platform.
"I can send you all to Ravenshead and then on to Cannon's Foot in a matter of moments. My theories are perfect!"
The Dwarf stands resilient behind his podium, waiting for your approach to the platform. Camir turns and addresses you a final time before your departure.
"I have traveled with Theld's machine before, prior to it 'breaking', you will feel disorientated for a moment, and then the feeling will subside. It's like magic, but different in that..."
Theld, lost in the moment of getting his machine working again, decides to add a bit of advice and cuts off Camir.
"Once you travel through the veins of the Earth, it's as though you have done it your whole life. You never forget the knowledge of how to do it. It's not magic as anyone can do it!"
Theld steps down and motions to the mechanical juggernaut.
"This machine merely provides the first step to this method of travel. It doesn't provide the means to the travel, it merely charges all the interconnected veins of ore in the earth with energy, allowing those with the knowledge to travel them freely."
"You will step on the platform and your body will be charged, much like lightning in a storm, but that charge is knowledge...the knowledge of how to ride the veins. Once you want to ride them again, provided the machine here is running and keeping the veins charged, you simply focus and remember the techniques."
"Make sense?"
The Dwarf leaves little chance for response as he hops back behing his podium and begins twisting more knobs and dials. He shoots a glance to Camir, silencing all other attempts to argue. The Captain stands aside and motions for you all to head to the platform.
You look to the metal platform, shadowed by the moving limbs of the machine and can't help but swallow the lump in your throat...
[All Aboard?]
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krysta, Girud and Galdren - The Queen of the Elves waves her pale hand through the air and nearly all in the room vacate quickly, leaving just her son and yourselves before the mighty noble. She narrows her eyes and looks over with you with a pleased expression.
"My son also told me you were warriors, but I had no idea your thirst for The Master's downfall ran this deep. There is indeed a way we can help each other...."
You feel your eyebrows subconsiously raise.
"You thirst for The Master's downfall, as does the entirety of the Elven empire. In fact, we have spent the last decade working on a plan to annihilate The Master, a plan that involves these powerful crystals."
The Queen stands and strides to a wall of the amber tower, placing a hand upon its cold surface.
"You may have noticed the strange construction of this tower, they very material its made of being foriegn to all you know. We call it 'Giai-lynsyx'...it means 'Revenge of the Earth' in our tongue."
"Too long has The Master scoured the earth clean of life and too long has he drug his talons across the surface of it, leaving scars miles long. We will stand for it no longer..."
"We Elves are masters of the earth itself and normally Giai-lynsix is used as materials in our healing magicks...but it can also be used for a much darker purpose, for destruction. But it needs immense energy, which these crystal provide."
"We have built this tower as a weapon, capable of raining down pain and death upon The Master and his armies from any point in the world. This tower is a weapon, a beautiful weapon capable of ending this war."
"We have but two crystal thus far and my sages and sorcerors tell me we need at least five to power the towers' abilities. I can ill afford to send my only son out into the world to seek these shards anymore and I need people I can trust, people with the same desires as the empire..."
You know exactly what is coming next, but your mind still cannot believe it. The Queen turns and looks to you as her son stands stiffly, knowing to not question his mother's machinations.
"Tell me adventurers, can the Elven empire rely on you to return these shards to us?"
"Soldiers, weapons and magicks...all will be at your disposal should you choose to accept, if not, I bid you well on your journeys and will gladly allow you access to our supplies before opening the gates for you."
"What say you to this offer?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuri, Sehanine and Romar - Crouching down and pulling the bow back, Romar looses and arrow towards the lone Drow in the group. [Attack Roll = 18, Damage Roll = 7] The arrow sticks firmly in the dark elf's flesh, nearly knocking him over.
The group turns, now aware of your presence.
[Initiative: Yuri and Romar, The Drow and Derro, Sehanine.]
Battle has begun...
