Hero, Garor, Callian, Angelus, Caelith and Newt - Garor swings his Dwarven Waraxe around, bringing it against the creature's armor plating. [Attack Roll = 22, Damage Roll = 13] The Bulette howls in pain. Bullette is wounded. (Down 28) Hero refocuses, feeling pained from the last attack. (Refocus) Caelith, one hand remaining on the crystal, casts a spell and unleashes two bolts of energy at the beast. [ Magic Missle Damage = 7] It does little besides leave blackened spots on the plating of the beast. [ Cure Light Wounds Roll = 9] Bulette is wounded. (Down 35) Angelus calms himself, ready to act again. (Refocus) Newt does the same. (Refocus) [Jeez...you people better post or this Bulette's gonna tear you apart. ] The Bulette acts next, still intent on consuming the human female before it. [Attack Roll = Nat. 1!] The creature trips and misses the lunge, growling a feral, gutteral growl...{Then again...maybe not. } Callian acts next, taking a small step to the North, brings his weapon to bear. [Attack Roll = 21] The attack barely misses the bulk of the creatures body. Battle continues... [Initiative: Garor, Hero, Caelith and Angelus, Newt, The Bulette, Callian] N_________ ____C_____ ____S_____ __________ __________ __________ _____BBA__ _____GH___ S = Shard C = Caelith BB = Bulette G = Garor H = Hero A = Callian ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Krysta, Girud and Galdren - Again, a shopping post. Galdren and Girud - The elves have only one belt of any kind, and it's a Belt of DwarvenkindGaldren - The Katanna and armor are easy to some by. They have but one RoP +1 to spare. They have no gloves. Girud - Your boots are obtainable. [Anyone else have anything?] As you wait at the temple, you see a cadre of elves approach, sixteen in number. The elite warriors, eight in number, look very capable of being frontline warriors. The mages pockets jingle with pouches and trinkets for spells and lastly, the scouts arrive camoflaged as though to blend with the forest itself. {I'm right in the numbers yes?} They each carry a belt lined with vials of a crystal blue liquid, probably the healing you required of the crown. [There are 5 potions of CLW and one CMW for each of you.] The elves await your command... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Romar, Sehanine and Yuri - Grandil frowns, his face furling at Romar's outburst. "I think ye misundertand me laddy...this is not just a means of transportation...it will be your beloved Húna."
"Ye horse is dead laddy, ye said it yurself. Her soul is free, yet not out of our reach. We can place it in a construct and it will be Húna, faster, stronger and more resilient..."Grandil looks to the main gates. "However, I canna make ye take the offer. For ye help, we would at least offer to fill your pouches with water, your packs with food and give ye at least a little something in return..."
"Say the word and I'll have the fires snuffed and ye can leave..."The King looks almost hurt at the outburst and rejection of his offer. He looks to both of you, specificaly to Sehanine and Yuri, hoping they can convince Romar otherwise... __________________________________________________________________________________________

Angelus moves in until the beast is within thirty feet and starts to cast his spell. His hand starts to glow with fire and he points at the beast and says the word "[glow=red,2,300]ustilo[/glow]" A spiralling column of flames erupst from his finger toward the beast.

"Yes, this is the ranger's horse...I have special plans for this one. It will become my steed...it will become a nightmare..." He must tell him... I have seen her corpse reanimated by the vampire and know what he plans on doing with her. If you do not take this opportunity Romar, Huna will be a Nightmare. Her soul will not be at peace if it is not done.Bracing himself for agression from Romar, Yuri prepares for an attack from him. (OOC: Readying myself in case Romar snaps. If it's a punch, grab his fist and squeeze. If sword, Energy Bolt on the sword, sonic damage.)

Damn; I myself am hard-pressed figuring out what exactly to do, not to even mention Romar and how he can ever make up his mind... Lucky I've got the weekend to figure out.
Catched up by the words of the king on his way out, Romar can't help but again feel that burning desire to do whatever it takes to get Húna back, so badly even that he hesitates and stops his walk. Before he even turns around to face the king, he speaks: "Misunderstood? perhaps... But to turn a living being into a machine? How could anyone ever regard her as Húna? How could I do that?"He turns around, his face changed from anger to sadness: "Is there no other way? Is there no way for me to bring Húna's body here so that you can give her her soul back, and give her soul her body back at the same time? I just can't bare to see a machine in front of me and call her Húna. But then again, I sound selfish. Maybe I should just face it and help Húna regardless of what I can bare and what not."He is still weighing the pros and cons in this grave dilemma, and it seems like there is just no possible answer for Romar... ...but then, Yuri interferes, and manages to make things just a little more complicated if at all possible. Hearing his words, Romar totally looses his control over the entire situation, not being able to figure out what is best to do and at the same time knowing that what is best to do might also be the worst to do for Romar himself, or perhaps not... He lost overview. All he can come up with are questions, questions he fires at Yuri who brings the sudden news: "How... how do you know that? Why did that vampire you speak of made you witness? Why haven't you told me before? Give me answers, as I have none anymore!"

{Galdren - Did you request a belt somewhere? I see no mention of it, so am not sure whether or not this belt for me. Lemme know.}
Gladly accepting the potions from the elves Girud stores them away for later use. As they stand ready to be commanded Girud feels very out of place even considering ordering these men around. He looks to Krysta who'se judgement has led them down this path so far.
"I think it would be best for you to be in charge, the commander in chief, if you follow what I mean. I am a soldier and I take orders, not give them. Will you take this responsibility and guide us on your plan?"
Once all his gear is secure Girud is ready to go.

While the elves near, Krysta goes about fashioning her new gear in a fashion that can only be described in one word...Discipline. She takes out her 3 belt pouches, and begins sorting out potions and items in what must be a very precise matter. She calculatingly divides the potions for the others out, so that they may do what they wish with them. As for the rest of the gear, they are split and seperated, and then stowed in different areas.
This must work. I can not make the mistake of being left empty handed when the time comes for their uses. Curing, Hiding, Sneaking, and Invisibility. Those should each be split for better use. And these? Well, let's just make sure they are ready in case we may need them.
As she continues her efforts, which have been carefully thought out beforehnd, she is almost done, while she stows the remainder in the large canvas bag. The canvas baag is then put inside the Bag of Holding. One assortment of potions on a belt is also put in the bag of holding as well. These items, along with the various supplies and rations, she feels are stowed in the fashion she would want.
The pack is then readied, being much lighter now that most of its contents have been stowed in the bag. She puts the second belt into it, along with a few items. She wraps her blanket around her new Bastard Sword, and straps it to her back along with the quiver. Her swords and sheated, both the longsword and the newly coveted short sword. The last belt pouch is then wrapped around her waist and checked for security.
As for her armour, she adjusts the breastplate and fashions some feathers into one of her pockets. The cloak is tied, and she turns to the others, as the elves look for an order... now hearing the words of the half giant.
She looks at the other warrior, and then back to the half giant. "I guess we must decide on a leader, so to speak. I would accept the position, if you would have it that way. But I see you as equals, nothing less. Your voices will be heeded and orders carried out as well. but for now, let us get going. Our newly appointed task awaits.
Turning to the elves, she says, "My name is Krysta. These other two are Girud and Galdren. It would seem that we have an urgent task at hand; given by your queen. One that must succeed. We are wariors. I have asked for each of you and your skills. The scouts are here for their prowess. The magic users for their ability to wield such powerfic magic and support. The Elite Eight, for aid in the frontline. We three will lead you. In each of our hands lies the power to see this through the end and bring an end to this war. A war that has gone on for too long. One that has lost many lives. We are relying on each of you to do your part, and we will do ours. Now, let us be on our way. To the crystal at Cannon's Foot!"

Ah, yeah, I asked for a belt of giant strength, so if you asked for it, it's yours. Well, unless there's a cloak of resistance, I'm fine
Galdren belts on his new katana and armor, straps on the potions, slips on the ring, and nods his thanks to the elves. "I'm ready."

(BluSpecs mentioned that he took a step to the northwest in his last post...hence, I'm hoping for a flanking bonus. Having missed a beast eight or more times his size leaves Callian shaken. Determined, he abandons his slashing techniques and thrusts forward, intent on breaking through the creature's bony skin. (+9, 1d8+3)

Yuri looks at Romar and answeres his questions:
While I was out finding the materials I required, I managed to see the vampire riding a horse identical to Huna. In fact, I know it is Huna. He was discussing how he was going to change her corpse to that of a nightmare. I could not find a suitable time to give you this information, only now was appropriate. Romar, if you do not undertake the Dwarven King's advice, her soul will never rest peacefully. Huna will still live, but she will not be in flesh and blood. You stated that you would do anything to get her back, now is your chance.
Why not take it?[/i]

Caelith frowns - Although healed, he is rapidly becoming useless in this fight. In their haste to reach the crystal, the group neglected to stop and rest, and so there were no further spells prepared. His internal inventory of what he has to work with doesn't look good.
His eyes turn to the crystal shard. He removes his hand, suddenly, and pauses a moment (possibly to let the color return to what it was). Then he touches it again, thinking very purposefully and carefully. I need my spells to combat this beast. I need that power. Give me that power.
((The rest of his action is dependent on how successful thinking at the stone is. I'll write two possibilities, for the moment.))
If the shard does nothing special, Caelith will be forced to engage the creature. He'll charge at its back, aiming to be opposite the pair of feet he presumes to be Hero, striking any gaps in the Bulette's hide with his rapier. +9 (+5 normal +2 Charge +2 Flanking w/ Hero) to hit, 1d6 damage)
If the shard restores some magical power, Caelith will utilize it to the best of his ability - If possible, firing a second burning ray at its back, as that proved rather successful the first time around. (Scorching Ray, +5 ranged, 4d6 damage, no save)
((And if it's some other action entirely, I'll clarify what Caelith does upon being informed.))
