You said "ahead", I presume you mean behind. If we were ahead, then the crystal would still be here and they will not arrive till tomorrow.

{You presume wrong. I said - "One day ahead of the other groups' posts"...not actions. If you were ahead of their actions, then indeed, you would arrive in the game a day early before they arrived at the crystal. However, all is moot as The Udjat, as always, put it clearer than I could have...}

Hero, Garor, Callian, Angelus, Caelith and Newt - Garor swings. [Attack Roll = 27] The maul slaps into the armored plating of the beast, cracking it slightly. [Damage roll = 12] The Bulette howls, shaking.

Bulette is near death. (Down 78)

Hero chops with her blade. [Attack Roll = 20] The tip of her sword bounces harmlessly off of the creatures' flesh.

Caelith maintains a flanking stance, driving his blade into the beasts' flanks. He shouts:

"Hero! The crystal, it heals! Get to it if you can!"

[Attack Roll = 23, Damage Roll = 6] The blade goes as deep as it can, nearly to the hilt.

Bulette is near death. (Down 84)

Angelus moves behind Hero, placing a hand upon her back. [Cure Light Wounds = 4] {Also, Angelus, please confirm you can do this.}

Newt finally snaps into action, unleashing his sling bullet. [Attack Roll = 23] The rock manages to land near the beasts belly, in an unprotected portion of its stomach. [Damage Roll = 4]

Bulette is near death. (Down 88)

The Bullette, sensing its own death and a failed attempt at grabbing a meal, attempts to do the only animal thing it can...run. [The Bulette is going to run, but all AoO's are coming its way...]
Hero = 21. Miss
Caelith = 9. Miss
Garor = 22. Hit [Damage Roll = 8]
Callian = 26 Hit. [Damage Roll = 7]

Just as the monstrous beast begins to spin on its flanks, Callian and Garor take the opportunity to crack the plating on its head. The creature stumbles a few steps as you each dart out of its path...the Bulette snorts and staggers, taking another step before falling head first into the hole it created. You hear an exasperated sigh and see the final death throws of the beast as it dies in the small earthen hole...

Bulette is dead. (Down 103)

You look around, one of you greatly wounded, the others panting...wondering if they are any other surprises hidden beneath the grass in this field.

Romar, Sehanine and Yuri - King Grandil smiles meagerly, looking over the saddening scene before him. He clears his throat.



"Ye have my word that we shall build ye the greatest construct we can manage laddy..."

"We must first get into our forges and our laboratories. Are materials, our plans and our altars are down there. Since the rebellion, we've all but been locked up here."

"I'll be sending a group of men down with Marg leading them, once he gets some rest and regains his spells. They be headed straight to our Plan Library where the Derro says he last remembers the squiddy being at."

King Grandil motions towards one of the fires that produces the smoke seen from outside.

"Ye are welcome to rest and relaxation...then, if you want it, ye can venture below with them and hunt, or wait for the doors to re-open."

"What say ye?"

For EXCELLENT role-playing, (seriously everyone, I love to reward for this...keep it up!) for monsters defeated, advancing the storyline and solving puzzles, each player is awarded - 9,000[/u] XP which should advance everyone to 6th level. Remember, 2 levels per piece obtained...but each piece only gets harder...

OOC - Krysta begins her little, "I got Experience" dance and then suddenly realizes that instead of thinking these thoughts, she actually acted them out. Unfortunately, everyone else just watched as well.... OOPS!!!

Blushing slightly and kicking the goblin off of her leg, she simply straightens her hair, turns to the others, and says, "What? Like you can do better!"

Hey, since I get a free days posting, I might as well have fun with it!!!

EDIT: Just updated Giurd. Get his standard attack:

Caelith takes a moment to wipe his rapier clean, then smoothly sheathes it. "We should get this crystal out of here as soon as possible." He begins to move back towards it, casting a look towards Hero to make sure she's alright - After all, it would appear the bulette mauled her pretty well. "That is - After the lady Paladin has had a chance to utilize its healing." He frowns, looks in the direction of the town.

"We'll need some way to transport this crystal. I suggest we see if the town has a wagon we might purchase, or some other means of moving it. If I am correct in our position, a boat would probably be our best choice." He thinks back to the weapons lining the walls of Cannon's Foot. "Let us hope that these townsfolk are more hospitable than those we encountered in Morten..."

Not really appreciative of the hand Yuri put on his shoulder to comfort him, Romar shrugs the gesture off. He still considers him a vampire, and isn't comfortable with his attempts to ease his mind. Yuri returns his attention to the king, and the king responds, again with news of more delay and trouble. It is beginning to pile up on Romar's nerves.

However, still a bit depressed about his recent decision, he remains calm and responds:

"I will join Marg in the hunt if my companions agree, if only to provide some distraction from the wait I'd otherwise have to bear.

But we all need rest. I haven't taken mine in quite some time, and initially it was my reason for following Marg here. I know it is a bit much to ask, but since I can't seem to find my peace here in these halls, I'd rather go outside and organize my thoughts. I shall not stray far from the mountain. All I want is my rest, while Marg takes his to prepare his spells. For that, I need to be alone.

King Grandil, I ask you to let me leave these halls while all of us prepare for this undertaking. It is perhaps a lot to ask of you under your circumstances, but please take into consideration that you have asked much of me too."

If the king condones his request, he would like to head outside to the open fields and spent the short pause there. As he walks outside, he would turn around and ask another minor service:

"If someone could provide me with some writing material, that would be greatly appreciated. A pencil and paper will suffice."

If his request is not accepted, he will spend his time within the halls, but much less comfortably.

((Is there a way to outright tell if the crystal can be moved through the earth with us? If not, I guess an attempt to move it will have to be made - Once Hero's used it to heal, and if nobody else protests, Caelith will attempt to take it through the earth with him to Ravenshead.))

In short...no. The crystals cannot be moved magically or otherwise. Hard physical labor is ahead of you. Go ahead and edit post based on that.

Garor - Listen Check. You hear nothing else from the hole.

Hero touches the rock until she is healed all the way.

OOC: Wizards can't use cure moderate wounds scrolls without a Use Magic Device Check because cure moderate wounds is not on their spell list.

Callian kneels by Hero to make sure she's all right, then turns his eyes back to the woods, wary of any other threats.

"We need to move as soon as possible. The longer we delay, the easeier it will be for the Master's troops to find us---if there are any in the area, that is."

Angelus after the battle moves back to where he had found the battle site.

If you like I can go to town and see about procuring a cart and pony along with any other supplies we may need shovels etc..

At Newt's words, Caelith nods. "Town is an excellent idea - However, I don't think any of us should go off alone. I'll volunteer to go along with Newt, unless someone else feels more qualified. I'm assuming, offhand, that those blessed with more physical strength might choose to spend their time starting to dig out this crystal. What say all of you?"

With that Garor strips off his unnessesary gear (leaving his armor on) and pulls his camp shovel from his bag.

He then heads over to the most imbedded part and starts digging.
