Callian and Newt - Allessia smiles, her features hauntingly beautiful and captivating.
"Allessia will do in the interim Callian and Newt. Formalities may be reserved for a later time." She looks to Newt. "Of course, we will help get this crystal to Ravenshead."
"It will be our good will gesture to the Blackwing Kingdom."
She becomes sullen, eyes drifting back to Callian.
"However, I fear the Shrine of Karn is lost to the Nine Hells...we have tried much, but there is little we can do."
"I will speak more when your mages arrive." She looks to the sky as though awaiting the drop of the shard itself. "When did you say this would happen?"

Angelus, Garor, Hero, Caelith, Krysta, Girud and Galdren - Those near the remaining Elves are glared at with disdain. The Elves seem almost revolted at your words.
"We do 'serve the cause' Krysta...with more ambition and passion than yourselves. We were told to retrieve the shards...at all costs and within all powers."
"You speak the words 'can still have' the remaining shards. Are you so certain that they are within reach? What if the next shard is guarded by a dragon...or worse? Will you turn and run like a coward as you have here?"
"This shard is here and available. We shall report your...negligence upon our return to Ephemiryl."
The Elves turn their noses up, suddenly done with this conversation.
Delomme nods and shouts something, indicating the cannon will be firing. You see dozens of figures scurrying over the base of the cannon. Levers are pulled, gears and wheels are spun.
And the city holds its breath...
Instinctively you plug your ears, but is not enough. The blast and fire from Fortress-Breaker is both deafening and blinding. Well over several dozen feet in length, the flare from the barrel lights up the afternoon sky as though the sun had suddenly moved closer.
You watch the next few events unfold in slow motion;
[I've put the spell names in () for those pre-emptively wanting Spellcraft Checks]
The crystal leaves the barrel of the cannon in less than a blink of the eye, however it's path is halted milliseconds later at it strikes something in mid-air. (Wall of Force) Your eyes drift straight down to see the two mages and the remaining Elven elite materialize out of thin air as though they were not standing there before. (Invisibility Sphere)
The crystal, well above you, begins to fall to the ground, just near the city wall, obviously not held up anymore by its own inertia. As it falls, the second mages brings his hands about in an arcane fashion and releases a wave of energy towards a dry spot of grass and earth near the wall. The ground swells up, sprouts arms and legs and two glittering gems for eyes. (Summon Monster VI Earth Elemental) The mound of Earth, nearly ten feet in height, easily catches the gem and melds into the ground with one swift move, disappearing as though never there, cradling the gem as if it were a newborn child.
The mages prepare to cast more spells.
Looking over the wall at the swell of mist at your gates. torches immediately spark and light, held high for all to see.
[glow=white,2,300]BETRAYAL[/glow]
The fog swells, ready to pound the gates...
{Alright, one round of action and all hell breaks loose. The mages and Elite have been 'cloaked' with their invisibility sphere for the last 12+ minutes. One of them casts a Wall of Force, 130' high by 10' wide right near the barrel's path. The other simultaneously summons an Earth Elemental to catch the shard as it falls, pulling it into the Earth with him. It's not moving by magic, but rather by a huge rock man. The mages and Elite are 100' away and 40' high on one of the many wooden watchtowers that Cannon's Foot has to offer.}
And this is just a guess...
{Initiative: Caelith and Angelus (readied) The Elite on the Tower, Girud and Galdren, Garor, Hero and Krysta, The mages, The SlaughterFog}
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuri and Romar - Yuri's cloud releases a blast of energy aimed directly at the Mind Flayer. [Mind Flayer Save, Fail. Damage Roll = 18 ]
With the blast, the Mind Flayer collapses to the ground, blood and ichor running from its now gaping mouth.
Mind Flayer is dead. (Down 46)
With the collapse of the tentacled beast, you hear a cacophony of strange sounds from the hall. A few misplaced grunts, the wet splortch of weapons through flesh...then silence.
It appears that the battle raging outside has also stopped.
Then, as suddenly as it stopped, a deafening round of cheers emanates from the hallway. Cheers, the Dwarves are celebrating a victory.
You expect King Grandil to round the corner at any minute....
