Krysta, Caelith, Hero, Garor, Newt, Girud, Galdren and Callian - Girud moves first. He checks the edge of the water and does not see a slope, only inky depths of unkown darkness... [In truth, it's a straight drop 15ft.] Instead he drops his blade and unslings his bow, knocking and arrow and loosening. [Attack Roll = 13] The arrow flies harmlessly past the fray. Galdren spits on the dead corpse at his feet and moves to close the battle ahead. [/pre] Legend: ~§~ = Frog-Demon Statue ... = Start of water " = Waterfall from wall X = Dead Wastrilith C = Caelith K = Krysta D = Galdren R = Girud H = Hero A = Callian G = Garor M = Mordrock N = Newt You are all left standing, panting and alone in the bowels of this god-foresaken ship...wondering where to head to next. [Remember, lifeboats in section 2 and copper ring in place of dead wastrilith demon.] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yuri and Romar - A thorough search of the cave reveals a few things. Hill Giants are disgusting, unhygenic creatures that wallow in their own filth. They have unnerving dietary habits as evident by the carcasses and bones littering the cave... ...and they have no concept of treasure...or at least hoard it like a dragon. You find, underneath a pile of molded furs and bones, a substantial stash of gold, items and even a few weapons. Most notably, is a wand-looking device that appears to have been crusted with food...perhaps the giant used it like a toothpick. Aside from this, the cave is clear and would be a good place to rest for the night. [The Giant's treasure includes 200 pp, 487 gp, 568 sp. Two suits of badly dented half-plate, a broken lance, a masterwork scimitar and the wand.] __________________________________________________________________________________________

{From your dismissal I presume that it's not possible to attack this creature with weapons anymore.}
"We'll have to watch for him, you can be sure that he'll be back to haunt us."
Putting his bow back Girud fetches his sword and then uses one of his arrows to pick up the copper ring from the goo that was the demon.
Holding it out to the rest of the party he speaks. "Looks like this one had a little something to offer for us. What do you guys think, is it magic?"
{Once we are done here, Girud will offer to go fetch one of the boats.}

Caelith grimaces in satisfaction. His reliance on the holy warriors was not misplaced. But the ring, at least, will require his attention.

Krysta turns towards the waters, scanning them for any movement or trickles. She moves back to grab her longbow, and notch an arrow in it after sheathing her weapons.
"That was interesting... It seems as though there may be more, for at least one got away. If we should venture further into this place, I suggest we use ranged weaponry as much as possible, to keep this ghastly slime from using its breathing weapons. If someone needs a bow, I have a spare, if you are strong enough to use it." She then procures another Longbow from her quiver, effortlessly. It is carved with intricate detail. (Mighty Composite Longbow (+3 Strength))
"As for the splitting up, I was not suggesting that we split from each others company, but to fit in the boats, as one will not hold the lot of us. I still see no arguement to the grouping of equal lots in each. I will stay here, along with Mordrock and any who can help keep an eye on the waters, while the rest of you go and get the boats."
Krysta scans the water, staying in place while the others get the boats. Mordrock will do the same.

As Romar rummages through the pile of trash, he holds up the wand to show it to Yuri. "This doesn't look like anything ordinary. Do you have a way to tell what it does?"If Yuri has, then dividing the loot will be much easier. Then, Romar begins to wonder about an idea to handle such situations for the future: "This is an awful lot of coin and other valuables. Why don't we say it is for the group's welfare, so we don't need to divide it. Then, when someone needs something really bad, he could take the money from the group treasury. We're in this together, so I figure it won't bring much conflict anyway.
Oh, and this scimitar seems of value as well, so it could be for the group treasury as well. I don't think that I can use anything else from this trash pile.
What do you think?"EDIT: When they are done dividing, Romar will agree with Yuri to rest in this place, and last out the daylight so that they might continue traveling. Maybe, but I don't know if this is so, it would give us the time for a double rest, so we get twice the hp for resting. Just so that we won't waste half a day in that cave. Anyways, your call Kman

Yuri takes the wand and examines it.
Well, I am at much of a loss as to what the wand does as you are. I am afraid it has no psionic properties. Psions have wands, but they are crystals instead called Torjes. A magic user has a better idea as to how to identify the wand's properties. I detect psionics, not magic. They are two separate properties of power. Magic is in the air. Psionics is in the mind.
I agree with you about the treasure, however, it should be split in case we separate. If one person leaves for some reason, it leaves the other in the cold. You can better use the scimitar than I.
In the meantime, I will try to fashon that lance into a quarterstaff for myself and try to patch up this coffin.
Pulling out his portable hole and taking the broken lance, he goes to work.
(OOC: According to the PHB, if we do that, you'll be healed an extra 12 hp. For every 8 hours of rest, you gain a HP back per lvl.)

You mean to say you disagree? My intention was to just make a treasury of everything we find and take something out of it whenever we need it. But if you wish to divide it, that's good too.
I propose the following: Each of us takes 100pp, 243gp and 284sp. I'll take the scimitar to sell it and you take the wand. It might be a bit unequal in value but I don't care cause you won't use the wand against me I hope. Agree?

(OOC: That works for me, but don't expect Yuri to use the wand on you. He doesn't know how to use it Yuri will be more than happy to let you borrow money from him. That's what he meant when he made the statement.)

OOC: *Whew* Thanks, Specs, I almost forgot again.
Galdren starts to sheath his swords, when suddenly a sharp pain in his side grabs at him, reminding that he isn't as strong as he used to be. He spends a painfilled second before it passes, then finishes putting his swords away. Breathing slightly harder than he was right after the last Wastrilith fled, he walks over to Callian.
"My friend, ever since we were separated at Boon's Freehold. I'm afraid that I may have been infected by one of the fiendish creatures we fought there. Might you be able to help me?"

Caelith will also try to determine any similarities between the water demons and the statue at the edge of the water. Either way, he will Search the idol for anything unusual.
"I do not think that particular abomination will be attacking us anytime soon. Until, ofcourse, it finds more allies to band together with. Still, I would there were someway to destroy it now."
He looks out over the water, and paces the edge, trying to spur his thinking on. "I think it best we stick together, and Krysta's plan for how to man the boats sounds good to me. I think we should do this systematically - Start with the leftmost tunnel and cautiously continue exploring one by one." He pauses, with a thought. "We should leave someone behind to keep watch and try to make sure we are not flanked while exploring. Newt? Mordrock? Either could easily hide and watch from a safe vantage point, and shout if anything comes behind us. Thoughts?"
((I'm back for the weekend. I'll be gone again on Monday, and Wizard's doing a splendid job of running Caelith, so he will continue to do so. Sorry, guys.))
