Krysta, Caelith, Hero, Garor, Newt, Girud, Galdren and Callian - The water is continually watched by those with the sharpest eyes, waiting for any sign of the creature that just retreated into its inky depths. However, you see nothing. Not even a disturbance in the surface to indicate where the demon has gone. It is retreating and healing its wounds? For another attack? Bringing reinforcements? The questions keep your eyes glued to the surface.
Callian removes the pestering disease that has been inflicting Galdren since the fated days at Boon's Freehold. [Remove Disease] Galdren feels his bodu cleansed of the disease.
When Girud and any following him return to the rooms with the towering pyramids of skeletons holding up the lifeboats, they find them as they were. The boats are about twenty feet or higher in the air, each held up by the fragile skeletons.
Surely any attempt to just pull the boats would cause them to come crashing down and climbing on the skeletons is not an option, as they would crush under your weight.
A bit of tact is needed to free the boats from the skeleton pillar...
Caelith - [Detect Magic] {As this is 2nd ed. and also a unique item, I'll just go ahead an identify it for you.} You spell reveals this item to be unique in nature. It hardens the kins, adding extra density and mass to the wearer, but would also hinder their movement.
Item = Ring of Density This unique item, when worn, grants the wearer a +8 deflections bouns, as though wearing full plate armor. It also increases the wearer's hit points by 50%. (I.E. - 50 hp becomes 75) These excess hit points are considered temporary and are lost the instant the ring is removed or the wearer is unconscious. It also removes the wearer's ability to swim, jump or climb as their body becomes as dense as a rock.
Caelith - There does not seem to be a correlation between the demons you just fought and the large statue on the water's edge.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuri and Romar - Going through the remains of the Hill Giant's lair, you collect the bits of treasure here and there. As dawn comes, you settle in for along day of rest and much needed relaxation, urging the mounts out during the sunlight to re-charge.
[Twice the regained HP is fine guys.]
The day goes by uneventfully, and thankfully so as your mind constantly fears that you may have inadvertently rested in the lair of a family of Hill Giants. But night slips quietly over you like a veil, cloaking all around in its ebony grasp.
You are rested, saddled and ready to go...hopefully the search for 'The Hidden City' will go better this time...
{Anything special you two want to do before nightfall?}
