3 - 066: The Third Piece

Krysta, Caelith, Hero, Garor, Newt, Girud, Galdren and Callian - With Girud's massive size, he can easily reach the boats and lift them up without a care. It is clear that the reason the boats are on such a macabre stand is to prevent smaller figures from theiving the craft.

Now that Girud is truly as large as a giant, he has no problems reaching them.

He moves the boats to the edge of the water, one by one, bringing each down before the spell wears off. [The exact number of boats in the water I'll leave to you guys.]

The craft have been procured, there are three paths to take...which one suits you best.

Yuri and Romar - Slipping back out into the cool night, it seems infinetely safer than the previous night. Your eyes dart here and there, searching for another Hill Giant lurking behind a boulder or two, waiting in surprise...but you find nothing. Only flora and fauna sway at the base of the hills and atops the rising mountainsides.

You make your way deeper into the mountains, the trails soon becoming steep and plantlife giving way to cold rocky landscapes. The wind begins to whip about you, bringing with it a terrible chill.

Yuri takes to the skies, taking the form of a bat, dark as night.

Yuri - As you sail over the rocky mountains below, you search for any sign of this rumored 'Hidden City'. [Spot Check] Ahead, through a rather long and winding ravine between two thick ranges of hills, you spot a glimmer of light. It's difficult to make out, but it certanly does have the glimmer of a city with lights.

The path to it would be arduous at the easiest, and would probably take a week, if not more on your mounts...

You see nothing else like it in the entire mountain range.

As Yuri brings up his idea of transforming into a bat, Romar agrees as it is indeed a good suggestion. On the other side, he does find some trouble in the fact that he will be using the powers of the night again.

He waits as Yuri gains altitude, and probably looses the sight of the little black bat in the darkness of the night quickly, regardless of his keen eyes. He waits some more, and then wishes to shout to ask what he sees, but refrains from doing so, probably because of the possibility of danger's presence while the night obscures the wilderness around him. He will wait for Yuri to return.

As Girud has the size to do so, he will take all of the boats down atleast, and then wait for his size to diminish before getting into a boat (per Krysta's allocation). Also now might be a good time to change his boots (he would put on the levitate instead of striding and springing). I think that following the left wall would be wise enough a course of action.

Girud will follow the leader and do as he's told, while keeping an eye out for the escapee.

Peering into the distance, he spots the little light and notes the path.

Hmm, interesting....

Yuri decends back down and appears again on his mount.

It appears that we have a glimpse of this "Hidden City" of yours. Apparently, I made out a feint hint of light a good distance away. I was able to find us a safe course to it. Perhaps this is your "Hidden City". It will take us a week maybe more with our mounts because the path is so arduace. Shall we investigate?

(OOC: Forgive me, I have no clue what "Arduace" means )

As Yuri brings him the good news, Romar forgets his injuries and is overjoyed. It is the first good and promising news he has received in a while now, and if they somehow succeed in making their way to the Hidden City, Romar is sure they will be able to spend some real time in safety.

That is, if Yuri's suspicion will prove correct, and this strange illumination in the distance is not some work of magic performed by an evil sorcerer or such a thing. He sees no reason for these negative suspicions for now though, but due care will have to be taken when approaching it, if only to give Yuri a chance to remain unidentified by the reputable clerics of the place.

"That is magnificent news. Though the path may be long, it is only a matter of time now that we seem to have found it.

However, if this is indeed the Hidden City, then they will be wary of visitors. The inhabitants of the place won't be accustomed to such newcomers I guess; perhaps we are one of the few who have ever made it there. This will be to our disadvantage, sadly, because we will need to find a way to cover your identity. Once we arrive there, I should scout ahead and introduce myself first, and separately, to see what 'tests' they will subject their visitors to in such dark times. Only then can we judge if you will be able to meet them, and how.

The coming weeks we must travel under cover, even more so then the night alone will provide us with. We will have to use the plant growth and other hidden paths as much as we can, where-ever they can be found, to avoid that they will find us first.

I think that we should not hesitate now; not while we are so close. So yes, let us investigate."

Romar is filled with excitement, a feeling he lost a long time ago. To him it is as though the bedside stories of unreal places like this Hidden City are becoming a reality, combined with the fact that they are not so far away from a safe harbor. It was almost like a spark of youth that made its way through the dark face of Romar, who is, after all, only eightteen years of age.

He will ride on with hope now, and let Yuri lead the way as he saw it, if Yuri agrees on proceeding.
