Krysta, Girud, Mordrock, Galdren, Hero, Caelith, Callian and Garor - You climb back into the boats and shove off, gently rocking back and forth. Sounds that are most indescribable emanate from the tunnels as you make your way down, further into the belly of this damned ship...
As you round the next corner, nearly all of you strain eyes against the darkness. [Spot checks, all success] With a few muttering amongst yourselves, you all agree.
Something huge lies in wait in the darkness...just a little further down. It's horned, well over twenty feet tall and bulges with solid muscle down it's arms...
It lies in wait for your approach...
[It's in the little alcove just past #10 on your map.] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yuri and Romar - Making your way back into the main ravine, you see that the trail seems to go on forever. The space beyond the two caves you just passed is, at best, a little less than three feet wide - forcing you to travel through single file.
The cliff faces seem to stab for miles above you, and little to no light of the coming day penetrates this area. The shimmering orb of 'The Hidden City' seems infinently far away...many miles walk, when just outside of this ravine it seemed like less then two.
There is no plaque...no statue...not even a clue that you are headed in the right direction.
Just ahead, through a particularly tight spot between two massive cliff faces, the trail splits in two...
One to the left...and one to the right... __________________________________________________________________________________________

Romar stops at the point where the road that brought them this far splits into two, and looks in both directions. He sighs, closes his eyes as he vows his hands in each other, and kneels as he begins to mutter some words like a prayer. "Fahrlaghn, my Guide. Fahrlaghn, my God. I pray to you now as I have prayed to you before. Let not your guiding light fade; let it not go out, or wander off, or leave us to our own. Let not the wanderer be lost, let not the traveler be stuck. Your guidance is everywhere, your protection unwavering. The hidden is naked to you, the blind see through your eyes. Tireless are your feet, weightless your step. I pray to you, oh Fagrlanghn my Guide, Fahrlanghn my God.
If, under your careful shepherding, great Fahrlanghn, ever we will reach the City that is Hidden, then I will be your follower forever more. Therefore, now that I am lost and unable to find the way, I pray unto you to guide my decision. Show me, so that I may serve thee.
I pray for my God first, and to my Guide second. Fahrlanghn, guide my path."Not often has anyone seen Romar this pious before. Yes, he was raised as a good, believing farmer's boy, and he was always a regular and faithful visitor of the churches to the gods that be. However, he was nothing more so then all the other common people in the region of Carealal. It was natural, self-evident that one should go to the temple to pray. But that was before he was forced to leave his home and safe haven. That was before the war reached him. That was before he began to grow up into a real man. And with the hardship came the need to hold on to something; something that seemed to be more then just his own strength, for with only that, he believed, his failure would be imminent. And as he traveled through different lands, all strange and many unfriendly, often coming upon situations much like he is in now, he naturally grew attached to one god above all others: Fahrlanghn. And he made it to the place he then considered to be his final destination: Ravenshead, where his youngest brother rests. He somewhat forgot about Fahrlanghn for just a little while as he thought his journey had come to an end. Looking back however, Ravenshead seems to be the beginning of his destiny, not the ending. And since he has begun to travel through the same kind of strange and unfriendly lands, Romar has begun to remember why he made it to where he came in the first place: Though he forgot about Fahrlanghn, Fahrlanghn never forgot about him. Slowly, that recognition has been creeping into his veins, and now, faced with this situation in which he finds not a single clue as to where he should go, he can't deny any longer that he wouldn't have come far without the guiding light of the Road God. And so it is now that, through a modest but sincere prayer, Romar begs for forgiveness through promising his Guide and God eternal praise, if he will still accept him. Now, to get to the point : Romar would choose to go right, if there won't be some direct clue (read: Holy Sign ) as to where they should go and if Yuri has no better idea.

(whispered) "Look at the size of the thing! This will be a battle to test the mettle of---"
"Relax. I'll take care of it."
Finally. An open field, and something to fry. Caelith tries to keep from grinning as he whispers the necessary incantation.
(scorching ray---+6 to hit touch AC. 4d6 fire.)
Callian stands next to Caelith and puts on the strange ring the wizard identified near the frog statues.
(New hp for Callian---21. New AC for Callian---31.)

Krysta is in the other boat, so she does not hear the words of the others. Seeing the new foe, she instinctively pulls back the arrow on her bow, and aims. "We have company." is all that is whispered, as she makes sure the others can see her target being targeted by her bow.
Once the others take note, she will let loose the arrow, into the creature...
If full attack is available, then she will let loose two arrows. If not, then one single arrow. Mordrock will follow suit.
Krysta: +2 Mighty Comp Longbow of Shock, +11/+6 to hit, 1d8+2 +1d6 Electric, x3
Mordrock: +9 to hit, 1d4+1, x3

{Sorry, I am here too, guess I missed your post before.}
Not liking the idea that something large lies in wait, Girud looks about for a bit of firm ground to attack from. These boats are too easy to tip over or destroy if this is going to come to direct combat.
For now he will also loose an arrow at the creature lying in wait.
{+6 to hit. 1d8+4 damage}

Still strong in his faith.... I hope his prayer was answered.Yuri watches Romar silently and does not interrupt him. When Romar is finished, he askes the all important question. Which way? Left or Right?When his answer is right, Yuri simply nods. Lead the way.(OOC: There's not much I can RP here. Very nice job Vemu! )
