{First off, thanks for sticking around. I hate to leave like that, but family needed me.
Yeah Vemu, I know...that's my job though. Keep you coming back for more...
Anyways, on with the game!!}

Kysta, Girud, Mordrock, Galdren, Caelith, Callian and Garor - In but a second of realization, Caelith orders everyone into a full retreat. The boat backpeddles, the filthy water churns with the oars digging to finding purchase.
One Hero was already lost, more did not need to die this day.
The Marilith demon smiles, remaining on the dry shore, but not giving chase. Many of her multiple hands rest on hilts of weapons - clearly a sign she...it is not naive but obviously not threatened. Also a sign that she is not a threat, but a guardian at least. Could those horrible beating hearts and ichor-filled veins be her charge?
Regardless, the wry smile betrays her feelings about your approach. Just as to be expected with a demon, witnessing the loss of another demon is just a form of pleasure.
The boats spin, bump into each other and clumsily make their way back down the tunnel. It isn't long before those yellow eyes fade into the darkness and that horrible, amazon-sized woman demon disappears...but not before she whispers words that run the length of your back - straight into your spine.
"...Another time then little fly...another time..."
And then she is gone.
The boats make their way back to the open waters, where the gargantuan statue still rests and the waterfall spills from the West wall - all is silent here.
Your breathing slows, your heart returns to your chest and you find yourselves faced with a choice.
Return and prove your worth to the Marilith, hopefully not as a tasty meal - or head above decks and expose yourself to the horror that is Stygia... the 5th layer of hell...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuri and Romar - The panther-shadow-demon circles you some more, like a leapoard stalking a gazelle in the tall grass. It snorts again - a feral cat faced with only one decision...how to eat its meal. It glares frighteningly at Yuri.
[glow=green,2,300]I am not your master...but I will be your undoing. It is not often I am lenient, but I will excuse your words this once. Speak them again and you will remain frozen until the stars dim and the sun burns to barely more than a candle...[/glow]
It looks at Romar again, like an elephant ignoring the fly buzzing about its face.
[glow=green,2,300]I will do as you ask mortal, but only after I have what I seek.
The Clerics of this city have taken something from me.
My mate.
They have placed her in a place I cannot reach for it is guarded by magic the likes of which I have never seen. It bars only the...impure of heart from entering.
I have tried...convincing some of the clerics to release her, but their devotion is unwavering.
This is where you become useful to me.
You enter, release my mate and I will leave this place, restoring it as though I was never here.
Do it not and your usefulness to me will cease...[/glow]
The panther-demon crosses arms of pure shadow, emerald eyes like dying embers of a green fire.
It awaits your response eagerly.
