3 - 119: The Third Piece

{To make this easier on the eyes, I'm going to roll the Paladins/Fighters rolls and just relay what happens with words.}

{Also, those with cohorts requested they get seperate initiatives. So from this round forth, they will. Likewise, their rolls will also be summarized to keep things clean as I will do with Mordock. Only PC rolls and monsters against PC rolls will be posted if that's OK with everyone.}

Krysta, Caelith, Girud, Mordrock, Galdren, and Garor - Alton's arrow sails over the top of the demons heads, nearly clipping a hanging victim in the shoulder aas it does so. Brother Hingar shoots him a quick glance before continuing his charge, hopin to keep the innocents alive.

Vorren charges across the room, sword leveled at the nearest Demon's head. He swings when he reaches the enemy, hoping to take an arm off. He does hit and cripples the devil with a good blow to the shoulder.

Krysta fires her bow at the same demon. [Attack Rolls = 25/21] Both hits land, forcing piercing metal into devilish flesh. [Damage Rolls = 9, 12 (21)] The devil collapses, ichored blood spraying like a fountain.

Girud moves forth, holding his massive blade outward, ready to attack any that come near.

Caelith casts a spell on Galdren, uses the Samurai's patience and skill on the battlefied to aid all present. [Magic Circle Against Evil now in effect.]

Brother Hingar moves as far as he can, held in restraint by the bulky plate mail covering his body. He moves between one of the devils and a captive, being a selfess holy warrior and keeping the innocent safe.

Adelia moves from Krysta's side and begins to inspect the obelisk. [Knowledge Check, Religion, Arcana] If she had to take a guess, she would assume this obelisk is a infernal thing, used to trap the pain and suffering commited around it. Devils are accustomed to the noise, considering it much like the music many mortals listen to. It's horrid screeching does much to unnerve those not of the hells...

Galdren moves next to the giant, ready for an attack. [Galdren, the distance is too far and you're not in a straight line for a charge. Next round you can attack.]

Mordrock moves over to the chained victims on the wall, remaining awfully close to the beautiful newcomer Adelia. He looks over the chains...shouldn't be a problem. He whips out a small pick and begins to work on the lock. He fiddles a bit, but can't get it open. He huffs and keeps a close eye on his back for any shots from the devils.

Garor also moves into the fray, ready to pound any devils with his huge maul.

Last to move is Jannoch who, also emcumbered like Brother Hingar, can only move so far in this huge room.

The devils are now aware of your presence...but at least one went down...

Yuri and Romar -Yuri relays the tragic tale of the dead Erinyes to the waiting demon outside the temple gates. For a moment, all is silent as though your words fell on deaf ears. You look the bleeding Daniel as though your one chip to play in this gamble will soon be useless...hoping the demon makes a move soon.

Then you hear it, that same guttural voice from before.

You swallow the lump in your throat as you prepare to willingly walk close enough to the demon for it to reach out and touch you...

Romar frowns and looks at what Yuri is planning on doing, not very happy with the fact that he can't understand a word of what was just said by his companion. However, hearing the demon make his claim, Romar finds it time to make theirs. He looks at Yuri and whispers, checking if Yuri has said what he would've said in his place or not:

"Enlighten it of our claim, and speak with haste for Daniel is slipping away quickly, and tell the demon to do so as well, if it still wishes to see Daniel alive. He must release the city and therefore break his curse, before we can bring him who he desires. There is no other way."

Romar steps aside again, awaiting Yuri's response.

Krysta is a little uneasy as the first devil falls quickly. Hopefully, they are all this easy to deal with. She then grabs another arrow, letting it sail past as she takes her five foot step SouthWest, to get a line of sight of the devils. Sure, the others were in the way, but they still had the jump on these devils, and perhaps another good shot would be successful.

Mordrock, seeing that the new woman is near him as well and studying the obelisk that is making those awful sounds, much like his mother when growing up while she yelled at him, simply turns his attention back to the chains. He better get these people freed quickly.

Adelia, seeing that the others seem to have the devils under control, simply grabs her weapon of Pelor's choosing, hefts it with both hands, to gain some momentum, and slams it into the obelisk, hoping to cease the wailing that it emits.

Yuri turns back to Romar and mutters a reply, while walking out the door.

The demoness's story was told. He knows all. Wait here, I will be back shortly.

With that, Yuri goes out the door and presents the bloody Daniel to the demon with must needed haste.

Caelith turns his attention to the victim being tortured by what is apparently thin air, advancing just out of the little hallway he and his comrades started in. He knows better than to believe nothing is assaulting the prisoner, ofcourse, and he watches the space around the poor soul, hoping to detect where the malicious creature might be lurking, searching his mind for all his infernal and abyssal lore, hoping to identify what the creature is - and perhaps how to stop it, or even just see it. ((Move out from around the corner to catch the rest of the action. Knowledge: The Planes +7, Knowledge: Religion +7))

But until he knows one way or the other, Caelith decides some caution would be prudent. Bringing the swirling word of magic to the forefront of his mind again, Caelith speaks them aloud, shaping magic's essence into an unseen armor about his frame. Finishing this, he also calls his force shield into existence - There is a battle to be fought, after all. ((Casts Mage Armor on himself and uses a free action to activate the Ring of Force Shield. AC 19 now))

Somewhat glad that none had attacked him yet Girud takes a 5 foot step forward and begins waving his sword at the enemy. The Devil didn't stand a chance.
