{By the Way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Jevva!}

Krysta, Caelith, Girud, Mordrock, Galdren, and Garor - Alton, still mumbling something inaudible beneath his breath, tries to act. [Rolls 1 "Attack Caster with melee or ranged weapons"] Alton, in a brief moment of clarity, slings his bow up and take a pot shot at the Golem. [Attack Roll = 10] The arrow sails harmlessly past.
Vorren moves around Girud and lands one solid blow on the creature, spraying everyone in fine glass powder.
Krysta fires here volley of arrows at the Golem. [Attack Rolls = 21/32/29] Two of the three blows land, poking good-sized holes in the marauding construct. [Damage Rolls = 8/9] The golem staggers a bit, as though a heart were suddenly where the thin, two dimensional glass shatters outward.
The Golem staggers and collapses to the ground, rippling outward in a blast of artwork...
The battle is over. {OODM: Thank god!!}
Brother Hingar immediately removes his helmet and addresses everyone.
"Is everyone alright?" He looks to those hurt most by the prismatic blast of the golem. "Are you in need of healing?"
{Basically, the paladins have about 80 HP in healing left for anyone, should you want it. Also, if someone needs some rolls for healing, let me know.}
With the battle over, nearly everyone turns their attention to the captives on the walls. Each one is released in turn, with combined strength, Mordrock's lock skill and the magic users. In about a minute everyone is free and rubbing their wrists and shoulders.
Most appear to be standard temple acolytes, young and innocent - lacking in strength or power. The one prisoner that fell victim to the spell unscathed rubs his wrists when freed and motions to Brother Hingar.
"Good to see the pits haven't claimed you yet brother."
Hingar spins and his eyes alight.
"Michuth Gyl! By the gods, you are alive!!"
The two embrace and Brother Hingar introduces you all to the newcomer.
"This is Brother Michuth, another of our order we had assumed dead."
"It takes more than hell to kill me Brother."
He nods and shakes everyone's hands in turn. He pauses at Adelia and Krysta, bowing low in servitude and chivalry to which Mordrock huffs. He stands upright again, motioning to his nearly nude body.
"The demons took my things. If I could but borrow a sword, I would be eternally grateful to the lender. Two-handed preferrably...."
Those inspecting the obelisk notice it is indeed breakable. With sword strikes and maul hits, the obelisk eventually breaks apart, each stone chunk dissolving into thin, wisp-like smoke before completely dissipating.
97 out of 200 Restoration points earned.
With the destruction of the obelisk, a wave of cool refreshing air washes over all of you. The temple walls seem to solidify, somehow becoming more wholesome and less demonic simultaneously. The effect remains, though again becomes muted as the hellish hot sulfur fumes wash through.
The paladins motion to the Eastern door...
"Through that room and into the next. There we will find Karn's spirit...."
{I'll pause here to allow anyone to do something they want, help Michuth etc. Don't forget about the Insane Alton...}
COUNTDOWN - 01:18 Hours to Apocalypse Clock Chime...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuri and Romar - The clerics of the Hidden City are indeed still frozen, none having moved since your arrival here recently. Still, the gonging of the beel atop the tower is a strange coincidence indeed and needs to be investigated...
Making your way into the temple, you notice the usual. Altars of worship, mostly dedicated to neutral gods. Racks of acolyte robes and incense, stores for holy water and other materials of worship. You pass simple quarters for the priests that are still sealed shut, some with priests still in them.
And the bell ringing continues...
On each level you pass, it is still unnerving to notice the waves of worship frozen in place. Each has a face frozen in the final look or emotion of their life...some even still smiling. Others are frozen in perpetual worship, reading - all normal acts of temple life. It seems as though the demon came unexpected and acted quickly.
Eventually you climb to the top of the temple, through the belfry and find a rack of bells surrounding a much larger bell in the center. The belltower overlooks most of the city, providing you a good view of the frozen wasteland that it has become. A nearby railing is shredded as though a huge clawed beast tore...
The Demon...
This must be where the demon first arrived to the Hidden City by whatever means it travels. It must have come here for a reason...to this bell tower for some purpose. Then, while you stand and in perfect intervals, the center bells rings again.
This close, when the center bells rings, it is nearly deafening.
Written in script on each bell are single words. The center bell has the word 'Life scrawled on it. Surrounding this 'Life' bell are the other bells with the words; 'water', 'air', 'peace', and 'time' written on them.
They are not ringing, but a set of mallets is nearby...
