OOC: Gee, thanks, Kman, but... it's not for another week...how'd you know, anyway, out of curiousity?
{New feature at bottom of boards. Today, for instance, is Athael's B-Day. Update your birthday on the boards and I'll get it right next time. }

Krysta, Caelith, Girud, Mordrock, Galdren, and Garor - After outfitting Michuth Gyl with goods from the party stores, the paladins disperse their healing. They work on Girud and and others that request it, while Garor and Adelia offer to help with divine healing. [Garor Rolls = 16, 22, 11 Use how see fit. How many charges is Adelia spending?] [Girud, the paldins have 80 HP to dole out, take as much as you wish...]
Also, with the help of others, the Halfling Alton is wrested to the ground and restrained from further hurting himself and others. It is no worry for Michtuth to haul the small man around - assuming battle does not strike.
Michuth, in exchange for the loaning of gear, gently takes Adelia's hand and ushers a few words of faith. [Lesser Restoration = 3 CON points back to Adelia] Michuth then smiles and dons his newfound armor and weaponry.
Mordrock sneers as he walks to the door to listen for the next room.
"Stupid wholly warriors...cast a spell!" He gestures wildly with his hands in mockery. "Heal...get to touch...grrr..." He stomps to the door and leans into it, still mumbling to himself. [Listen/Search Rolls] Mordrock leans back. He knows the door is not trapped, but he meekly calls for the only one he feels comfortable talking to.
"...Krysta?"
the Goblin waits patiently for the woman warrior to trot over. Once there, the Goblin points to the door with a thumb.
"Whatever in there is not small or quiet. It make lot of noise and sound really REALLY big...."
Sure enough, leaning an ear to the door, you hear the sound of a bulky figure, very large, rummaging through goods. The occasional snort, the sound of talons scraping on stone...all very discomforting. Looking back to the paladins, Brother Hingar simply shrugs.
"Its was a kitchen and meal hall for those attending Karn's body...since being pulled into Hell, we've no idea what has happened." He pulls his longsword free and levels it at the door. "However, we fear nothing for our gods light cannot be diminished...even in hell."
Calmly and stoicly, Brother Hingar, flanked by Vorren, Jannoch and the huge form of Michuth, approach the door and pull it open.
The room beyond does indeed look like it was once a kitchen. Barrels are broken here and there, crates are smashed amidst piles of shattered dishes. In the center of this large room is a creature of which none of you expected to see...
Even coiled around the center of the room, the creature nearly fills it from wall to wall. Spines jut out, touching stone and leaving feiry marks as they do. Teeth gnash appart wooden crates in search of food and talons tear through solid stone like they were butter...
You look to the paladins who, without a moments hesitation, charge into the room - their faith guiding them into battle. You take a moment to wonder...what has happened to Nupperibo, the small imp familiar of Emirikol the Chaotic? Where could that imp have gone? Could the paladins have frightened him off?

COUNTDOWN - 01:16 Hours to Apocalypse Clock Chime...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuri and Romar - with held breaths, you take the mallet from the stand and strike the 'Time' bell. The sound it produces is queer, sounding more out of tune than any bell you have previously come across.
At first, you wonder what is to come next. Nothing seems to change, from here you cannot see anyone move and there are no other indications that something has happened. Then, the 'time' bell rings again, fully on its own. This time, the sound is a bit clearer, a little more distinct.
A smile spreads across your lips...
The clerics on the street, seconds ago frozen like statues, begin to slowly move. Their arms take minutes to swings, their robes are slowly brought back to life as though stuck in liquid.
Then, the bell chimes a third time, this time sounding right on key. Like a flood of fresh air to a suffocating man or water to one dying in the desert, The Hidden City floods back to life. Words sound through the air as conversations frozen long ago resume. The sights and sounds of daily life in the clerical city come flooding back in a rush...
...all as though nothing has happened...
The clerics don't really seem aware of what has happened. A few here and there looks around quizically as though they were talking to someone and now are not... the Demon! It unfroze clerics one at a time to make them do his bidding, they must be missed by those they were interacting with when frozen.
You hear two things immediately of note. One is the sound of voices and footsteps climbing the belfry tower that you are standing in.
Then, from the direction of the temple where you captured the vile priest responsible for all of this, Daniel, you hear a scream...
