{Holy cow! We made it!!! Good work everyone. To address questions -
- You are still the same age, only in an older world.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Vorren goes to work on the Devil that closed, bringing it practically to its knees. The Devil flaps its wings excitededly, hoping to make an escape like the companion with it moments ago.
It is not so lucky however...
With sure and steady steps, Garor charges and brings his mail overhead, directly atop the Devil's horned peak. [Attack Roll = 33, Damage Roll = 22] The first to crush is the horns, followed closely by the remainder of the skull, the teeth...the jaw...nearly everything atop the neck it pulverized in the blow. Like a bird struck by an arrow, the devil collapses to the ground with a shuddering flap of its wings.
Girud, atop the pillars, gently works the lock open and takes the hand of the innocents inside. One by one, they are led to safety beyond, away from the boiling lava and the roiling magma. As each one takes the hand of the gentle giant, it's as though the lava receeds, inch by inch. Cool air blows around, ridding you of the heat and ambient flames.
The stones of the temple seem to become less dark, less foreboding. The stained glass twists and turns, re-shaping iitself into orderly pictures of beauty and honor - not images of hate and malice. The screams die down....the air becomes fresh and carries the soft scent of the forest upon it...
You're back!
Before you realize what has happened, you see that the temple is made whole again. The marble is pure white and the sun...the sun - which you have not seen in nearly three days - shines through a nearby pane of glass. Instead of the lava in the center of this massive chamber, it has receeded to reveal an ornate sarcophagus - Karn's sarcophagus. At the head of it, set into a massive gold jeweler's placement is the thing you have desired the most...
The next shard...
You become aware of a presence next to you, the ghostly flowing presence of Karn. He addresses you all, including those innocents rescued from the flames.
"The sacrifice made here, by all, shall never be forgotten...I will see to it personally that you are rewarded in the afterlife for your deeds." The warrior focuses empty orbs specifically on your group. "I give you permission to take the shard...see to it that it is used for the good of the people. Brother Hingar and his men will see to it that you arrive safely where you need to be."
"For now, an old warrior must rest..."
Karn's form floats towards the stone burial device and slowly sinks into it, disappearing from view. Most present, the paladins included, fall to one knee reverently...and you feel the urge to do the same. Silence is observed for a few moments, the soothing sounds of the forest a welcomed repreive from the screams and haunting noises of hell below.
You become aware of a female voice - the hauntingly beautiful voice of Allessia Storm-Maiden, and she sounds troubled.
"By nature's blessing you have finally returned! We had all but thought you lost!"
Looking to the ageless druid, she seems tired. Her hair is not perfect, her face wrought with wrinkles. She looks like she's exhausted...
"The Master has all but claimed the land in your abscence. Most of the Order of The Glade has gone, seeking refuge while the dead walk the forest."
"Only myself and a few other heirophants have stayed to see that you succeeded..."
You stop to think for a moment - How long have you really been gone? - while she goes on.
"Come. we need to get moving. There isn't much time before 'The Masters' troops are upon us..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuri and Romar - As the chambers of the council become a buzz of life and moving clerics, the main leader still addresses you.
"The mechanical creatures you speak of were found, unharmed. They even startled the acolyte that uncovered them as he thought they were but strange statues left by some unkown entity."
"If they are yours, you may claim them at the city gates."
Some clerics exchange orders - the 'aid' getting ready to leave.
"As promised, some of our greatest diviners are being rallied now and will accompany you. We are also sending a small group of those well-versed in the undead and able to handle them...should you encounter any trouble on the way. They are ready to go now."
He motions to the doorways exiting the chambers. The leader hops from his platform and crosses the bustling chamber to your side. He places an arm at the base of each of your backs and begins to usher you out.
"I wich we could offer more to our saviors, but 'The Master' leaves no room to stretch ourselves thin. Supplies you will have, clerics and diviners you will have - but if we are to provide refuge for those seeking to escape his wrath, we must maintain a certain level of power."
He looks to Yuri.
"I'm sorry, we have nothing of the mind-benders, though I pray we could've offered something."
He looks to Romar.
"Bazarkrak heirarchy stills stands, eventhough the mountain does not. Our diviners, in their mad rush to grasp what has happened in the last five years, tell us that one day - the earth moved."
"The gates of the Dwarven stronghold opened and an army of metal marched upon the earth. They shook the very ground and crushed all that stood before them."
"That army marched to Ravenshead and stands their now, providing a wall to which any must pass to enter the city. Our diviners guess that is why Ravenshead has stood for so long against the onslaughts, but the metal army is dwindling...They also tell us that the Dwarven King resides in the Halls of Ravenshead."
"As for the DeathSpew Swamps...yes, they have increased in size. They reach bot shores now, covering what was once Bazarkrak Castle and Carealal, almost reaching Swampstip Keep and Antalil."
The cleric has led to you the main temple doorways, just a short distance from the main gates to the city. Everywhere you look, clerics of all experiences work about the city - casting spells here, fortifiying there. It's as though the once frozen city you entered has truly come alive.
At the gates, a large group of clerics has gathered and you do spot, amongst the crowd, your two metal horses being pulled along by young acolytes to the front of the crowd.
The leader still faces you.
"We will pray for you, Yuri Brottor and Romar Belamor...we will pray for you every day and do what we can to help. You have opened our eyes to our ignorance, and our penance shall be our ever-continuing blessing and assistance."
"Is there anything further before you ride?"

{As noticed by most of you, you finally achieved the third piece. You may now, if you haven't already, advance the next two levels. (Most of you did anyway, but it's a good stopping point for this section) Let's keep this game rolling eh?}
{Sorry everything had to be so truncated but with the dropping players, I had to do something to speed this up and make it less lethal. }
what did the time-skipping do to us physically? Are we now 5years older, or did the spell prevented even our body for aging and are we just exactly the same but in an 'older' world?
