... of all the things, this was not one that I expected. __________________________________________________________________________________________ All - The silence in the aftermath of the duel is staggering. Even the Kuo-Toan Chieftain, who is not accustomed to your cultures, observes the silence and remains quiet and calm. However, all of this is disturbed with simple act - Romar spitting in the face of the fallen warrior, of the recent hero and champion of Ravenshead...the 'Faceless Knight'. As the saliva strikes the cold dead cheek of Sir Mordrid, Sturmguard stands and fumes. Before Romar can turn and leave the scene of the duel the King grabs him by the shoulder and shouts, his voice heard echoing loudly through the stone-silent courtyard. "ENOUGH!"He forcibly spins Romar around, staring dead into his eyes. "You will learn to respect the dead in my home Romar...if you do not you may face them on the field of battle as puppets of 'The Master'."
"Sir Mordrid was atoning for a crime he knew was wrong. He spent the last five years of his life sorry for one moment of cowardice and proved himself every bit a champion beyond that point in his life. He had become humble, he had become brave...but most of all, he had become a man."
"He had accepted your challenge, though he try to dissuede you from this foolish act - especially in these times of war, and still you would not have it. He was respectful enough to sate your lust for revenge, eventhough it was against his better judgement."
"And for that, you spit on his form."The King hangs his head, only for a moment, until he raises it again and looks at Romar, the jewel around his neck lighting his face a dull crimson. "If you do not respect a man that is trying to atone...then you respect no one."He motions to a nearby set of guards, calling them over. "And a man that respects no one, deserves no respect."
"Throw him into the dungeon until he has learned to respect others and not only his selfish desires..."The King maintains a firm grasp on Romar's collar until the guards surround him, pulling blades and holding them steady. He is asked to disrobe of weapons and armor before the guards bring a set of iron forward. The public is in awe...not only had the lost their champion, but now one of those responsible for their salvation all in a matter of minutes. King Grandil remains stiff, knowing not to interrupt and the Kuo-Toan remains just as quiet, confused as to what is going on. Either way, it's clear Romar will be spending a substantial amount of time in the dungeon - another loss as 'The Master' pounds on the doorstep.... __________________________________________________________________________________________ {I paused here since this is a pretty substantial storypoint. If no one is going to do anything, we can go on.} {Romar, are you going to go peacefully?}

Krysta simply sighs. She knew that an honorable duel was being fought, even though blinded as it was. When the action by Romar brings the King out of his leniancy, she simply watches. Honor. A word Romar used, yet hid behind. A true honorable duelist would not have acted in this way, and even damn all those around him, watching this whole event take place.
His actions brought this upon himself. She does not interfere.
"He has lost all honor and respect from me as well. Now he must choose his own path. One of atonement, or of selfishness."

Girud was once a guard of this land, in these very walls. And he serves his King now as faithfully as he did then; he will not interfere. Whatever happened here today was beyond Girud's understanding right now. But from what he's seen and heard these last few minutes he understands what the King now does.
Girud will stand nearby, waiting for Romar to comply. If he does not, then Girud will take his weapons from him, by any means necissary.

I hoped you wouldn't. But there was reason for it, for Romar has known the knight being faceless, but now carrying the face of Mordrid makes matters even worse to him. The five years of atonement have passed without Romar's notion, so he didn't heed that matter greatly. Very subjective, I know.
...Yet you manage to stun me even more in the next part! Ouch, but this can be very interesting! Let's get to it!
Romar's eyes visibly widen as he is sentenced to the dungeon, as he is shaken violently by a raging king, one that he had not seen as such until now. It was like a loving father that hit his child for a prank, while up until then he had never done so. And yes, Romar still regarded the king highly, almost as a wise father, but it made the shock even greater. He does not reach for any weapons, nor his fists, nor does the thought even crosses his mind to try to resist against the king's grasp on him. When the guards near, as well as Girud, probably the biggest guard in all the city, his eyes widen still. He looks at the king, to Grandil, to Yuri, to his other companions, the guards, the crowd! A panic is in his eyes that has totally stunned him. He then looks at Mordrid, blood-stained, lifeless against the stone walls, and returns to the king. Stuttering, he says: "B-but... Sire! Y-you wouldn't..!"But apparently he would. Romar does not resist, not at all, moving along with the guards, looking back at those whom he considered friends. Yuri, Grandil, again at Sturmguard, his companions, but again the last thing he passes his eyes over is the body of Mordrid, as he himself is dragged to the castle dungeons. Before he disappears from the scene, he calls out, desperately: "Y-Yuri, come to me!" Damn, it's Friday again. I wanna see what happens!

Galdren turns from watching the approaching army when he hears silence behind him. Seeing the shock on everybody's face and Romar standing alone in the dueling circle, he rushes over to see what has happened. At the sight of Mordrid's face, however, he stops, at a complete loss of words. Mordrid is the last person he had expected to be the honorable, faithful Faceless Knight. He bows his head in respect for the fallen warrior, and when the king orders Romar to be thrown into the dungeon, he does nothing to stand up for Romar, ashamed that his comrade killed such a changed man in such a way.

In all his anger over Romar's actions, one was overlooked: Disrespect for the Dead.
Until the King's fit of rage, Yuri did not catch it. He was all the while trying to get Romar to atone for what he has done. Instead, he pleads with Yuri to be his guardian, his savior, knowing what he has done was wrong. Yuri halts the guards before he is carried off into the dungeon. His gaze meets Romar's pleading eyes. He answers his plea, but not with what Romar wants to hear.
Even in Death, you show him disrespect. A spit at him is a spit at every corpse 'The Master' has touched, even my own. Do not crawl to me to defend the evil you have caused. If you want me to come save you, you must atone for your sins and see the error in your selfish ways. Only then will I come by your side once more. Until then, justice must be done.
He turns to the guards
Take him away.
With this, he turns around and walks away to address the others to being planning how they will deal with 'The Master' and his army. He does so with a heavy heart.
He has just lost a good friend.

And after losing Sturmguard as his wise 'father', now Romar is faced with Yuri, his best and only friend left, abandoning him as well. And all the while he knew that Veya was also gone, forever, the one he had loved most. His family was gone as well...
Romar was left on his own; completely on his own, in the dark, to rot, or to beg for forgiveness for a crime he could not see.
The last words of Romar at Yuri were desperate indeed, and the panic in his voice grew worse.
"YURI! I would never spit on you! We've been traveling together for so long! But the Hunt is not finished! Yuri! I need you! Do not abandon me to this! I can do good things still, despite all! Do not take that away from me! Come to me; PLEASE!!"
And as such, begging for mercy, Romar Belamor, the stalwart ranger from Carealal, was forcibly removed from the stage were he had battled victoriously for his honor, in shame...

Yuri yet again hears his cries, but does not turn around. He has heard how he can be back in Yuri's good graces.

Harsh, but necessary.
[glow=green,2,300]You know he has been though much in his life.[/glow]
It is no excuse to disrespect the dead, especially one who wished to atone for the wrong he has committed.

Garor sees the kings word and agrees with the decision but shows no indication of it.
He then waits for the others to come togather so their strike team can be discussed...
