Romar -
Irinys looks at you intently, a wry smile spreading across his thin graceful lips. He waves a hand to the guards that stand down and remove their hands from hilts of blades.
"I had no intention of slaying you Romar, only protecting myself from the machinations of our enemies. I can see clearly now, they are your enemies as well."
He waves a lithe hand over the courtyard around you, motioning to the gates beyond.
"Astoril embraces you now..."
He waves the other dungeon survivors forward and the guards issue blankets to the prisoners to stem the chill. Then Prince Irinys turns and places an arm around your shoulder, pulling you towards a pair of iron gates stylized to be like the leaves and branches of a tree. With but a push, he opens the gates and reveals the city beyond.
At first, your eyes race to absorb it all until they realize how futile the effort is.
Elegant buildings flanked by impressive architectural achievements litter the city. Spires reach into the sky and arching bridges race across roofs and upper levels, like the webs of a giant spider. Every building is pristine and the streets are empty - free of the hundreds of refugees that cling to the alleys like those in Ravenshead. It is strange to see such a beautiful city unmarked by the touch of 'The Master'.
In the center of all of this is a tower that stabs high into the sky and is a brilliant orange amber - even in the night sky. It seems to glow from within and you can see shapes moving about in it.
You become vaguely aware of Irinys speaking again.
"That is the royal tower where my mother's throne rests. We will go there now for I am sure she will want to meet such a hero as yourself."
"And there is no need to disguise yourself anymore Romar, your name is safe behind the walls of our city - and Sturmguard can never take it from you."
He looks back to the guards that are handling the prisoners.
"See to them. I take Romar now to see the Queen."
The guards nod and continue to usher the freed-men to some place down the street, opposite of where you are now being led. Irinys remains close to your side, like an old friend suddenly reunited.
"You will find that our amibitions differ greatly from the BlackWing Kingdom Romar, where Sturmguard is content to let 'The Master' come to him, we are planning on taking the war to the lord of undead."
As Irinys walks, you notice that most of the citizens in this town are Elven - watching you from darkened windows and doorways as you walk.
"We have designed a weapon to fight 'The Master', to strike at his heart from the safety of our city. But to power this weapon, we need the enigmatic shards that have been scattered across the world. I will let my mother explain more when you are in her audience but just know that we are nearly complete in its building."
"Thanks largely in part to the efforts of you tonight..."
He continues to walk along, speaking of the glory of the Elven empire.
You can't help but wonder what you will say to this Queen...

All but Romar -
The veins of the Earth race by your blurred vision. Specks of gold, flakes of small gems race by your barely coherent vision...and then its over. You emerge from the ground seconds later, coughing on some dust and tasting dirt.
The first thing you notice is the ground and how...mishaped it is. You are standing in a large depression oblong shaped...like someone forced the keel of a barge into the ground.
The giant stone man's foot!
If these are the print left behind by it, you shudder to think of the real size and power of it. You are several hundred feet behind the fortress now, barely seeing it in the wake of the dust of the marching army. The massive stone giant heaves his weight into the huge block, moving it along slowly. The team of ogres, just like Mordrock said, race about the base of it - twenty to a side. The giant towers over the block, at least twice its size and just as wide - nearly two hundred feet tall and solid rock. Even from where you stand, the vibrations of its steps nearly knock you to the ground.
At the speed the colossus pushes, they are mere hours from Ravenshead now...from the final battle for humanity. You hope that the tactics of 'The Master' do not include sending this stone man against the city for it will never survive even a singel blow from it - the walls will crumble like they were made of paper.
Luckily, you notice the rear of the army is mostly unguarded. 'The Master' is arrogant enough to not expect an attack from the rear like this. The fortress is a few hundred feet back, intentially. Perhaps 'The Master' remains inside and commands his army from the rear.
You could easily attack the right or the left, it's only a matter of preference...
{I know Girud said Left and that's fine, but I wanted to pause here to allow for buffing spells if wanted and what not.}
