Romar -
You are led from the audience chamber and into the strange crystalline lift, speaking your requests to Irinys - the Elven Prince.
At your first request, a wry smile and bit of a chuckle escapes him.
"It's obscenely clear that you come from the limited empire of the humans Romar..."
"We would never take the risks of sending one into the desert that few have survived. We will use magic to place you with a mile of the Dune Palace and you will find your way there."
He continues to listen to your requests as you're ushered from the tower and into the city around. At this time of night, few are about and the city is a quiet place, dark and full of night.
When you have finished your requests, it looks like you have come to a barracks of sorts, a place where many warriors bunk. The sparse guards outside of the single level facility betray the majority of the populace here to be Elven warriors.
"You will of course be given full provisions for your duty Romar. Weapons, armor...whatever we can spare is at your command. We Elves are beings in tune with magic, not ignorant to it like hu..."
He pauses, thinking twice about words.
"Like the Blackwing Kingdom. We ebrace and create it, thus here in our paradise, it is abundant."
He motions to the interior of the building.
"I shall have all that you request here by dawn. In the meantime, get some rest..."
And with that, Irinys leaves you. The guards before the door step aside without a word...
...you have a lot of thinking to do. How will find the shard within the city? What will you tell those that ask - the truth? That you're an emissary of Astoril seeking to remove it from the city?
Questions...questions...

All but Romar -
{This is supposed to be the last bit of last round, the readied actions in response to the advance of the enemies....but forget it, we'll just make this the new round.}
Krysta moves closer to the hole, following Adelia and ready to leap into it as soon as she can, following the young priestess' legs. Mordrock is there to pull her through, his eyes alight with panic of the battle around. [Tumble Check to avoid AoO = 10] Though she is deft in geeting into the crater, an Ogre manages to claw for her leg as she does so. [AoO Attack Roll = 30] The bony hand tears a bit of flesh from her leg. [Damage Roll = 10]
[Yuri no post, refocus]
Girud takes a massive step and brings his blade down. [Attack Roll = Nat 1, DEX Check = Nat. 1] In the heat of the battle, Girud - normally a dextrous being - doesn't spot the bit of rock hiding beneath a lump of grass at his feet. He sprawls forward, falling to the ground (prone) and will have to get up to attack again.
Alton fires into the squad of approaching undead Ogres. [Attack Roll = 17] The arrow sails wide of the target, but the resulting explosion rocks from the impact when the arrow hits the fortress. [Fireball Damage = 11, REF Saves = All Failures] The fire evelops the team of Ogres, but does little.
Galdren advances closer to the hole, eyeing it as he plans to be the next through the stone opening. [I'll assume a 5ft step to avoid AoO's]
Garor is next. {Yes it counts as a giant for AC bonus. However, you cannot stirke it's fist, you will need to close to within your reach to hit it.} He advances on the Colussus and stands between it and the group. [Tumble Check = Nat. 20, but still a failure with minusse for armor] The colussus sees the advance and takes a swing. [AoO Attack Roll = 40, Damage Roll = 18] With a ground-shaking thud, the fist nearly crushes Garor into the ground. However, the Dwarf is now close enough to attack. [Attack Roll = 32, Damage Roll = 22] An ineffectual hit on the giant...
The Ogres go next, advancing on those left behind. They lash at Galdren. [Attack Roll = 19] They reach for Girud. [Attack Rolls = 19/26/32] Two of the beasts land blows, slamming their fists into the half-giant. [Damage Rolls = 13/11] The rest of the ogres advance, but at an insanely slow pace - their undead forms far less limber than when they were living.
The Colossus strikes next, bringing its fist up and pounding it repeatedly into the form of Garor. [Attack Rolls = 51/26/21/24] The series of blows is devastating, but the Colossus has a hard time hitting such a small target - only one strike lands. [Damage Roll = 25]
The battle goes on...
