Romar -
Telena nods, giving up the idea of convincing you just how great their Life-Giving Lake is. She stands and motions for you to follow her as she walks back into the Ziggurat.
You follow the Half-Giant through hallway after hallway and down several flights of steps. With each footfall, the air gets cooler and cooler, an advantage of housing yourself in a large stone block...it acts as great insulation. You pass countless alcoves and doors to places unknown and Telena does little to explain them.
It is only when you reach the final staircase down and the long hallway beyond that you realize you are approaching the council chambers. You continue to walk, passing through an ornately decorated arch, into an expansive room beyond. The room is large, dominated by a massive semi-circle stone bench at one end. Behind this stone table of sorts sit eight figures. Each one an assumed council member of the Gathered Nations. Each race is represented; Elves, Humans, Halflings etc and each looks wise beyond their years.
The rest of the room is rather dull, arranged into a large meeting place where the council can address civic concerns of the public. There are sconces along the wall, but they are not lit. The room is flooded with a brilliant blue-green light from above, emanating from a chandelier of sorts high above you.
Looking up, you see the roof is convex, bowing down to a central point in the room where there is a glass or crystal section roughly four feet wide. As Telena walks you forward, you come closer to looking through the glass and into what lies above it. You see fish, sparkling waters...you're beneath the Life-Giving Lake! [Spot Check, Success]
There, just through the glass and actually made a part of it lies a huge shard of crystal embedded in the glass...The Shard!
It appears you've found it and, unbeknownst to the Gathered nations, it lies beneath the very lake that gives them the life they so greatly depend on.
You snap to attention when you're addressed by a Human female.
"We have heard much of your coming Romar Belamor of Ravenshead. Address the council with your concerns..."
Telena leaves your side here and takes her seat upon the council. All eyes fall upon you, waiting for your words.

All but Romar -
{Buncha girls! Throw a demon at you and look what you do...sheesh. ;D}
With lightning, speed, Yuri leaps forward and slams the stone door shut. The demon behind does throw it's weight against the door, but the stone holds the infernal beast fast. [Mordrock, Disable Device roll] Thinking quickly, the small Goblin lunges at the door and removes a set of tools, jabbing them here and there. Within a few seconds, he mutters that the door is clear and it's safe to move on.
Hurriedly moving a few doors down the hallway, you come to another inert, innocuous stone door. You each throw and ear forward, trying to get an idea if anything lies behind while Mordrock goes about inspecting the threshold. [Listen/Search Checks] All pronounce the door clear of obstacles...
Throwing it open, you spot a set of stair leading upwards to another floor above...
Even from where you stand, you see shadows moving about up there...something is on the next floor.

{You know what was funny, I picked one door that was 'real', the rest were trapped or monster-filled etc and it was 15. That's what I call lucky!}
