Romar, Irris and Tineniel -
The council stops dead in the middle of negotiations. Erid and Telena break from the group, rushing to face West to see what the scream was about. As soon as they look, their jaws drop wide open. You lie on your side, looking under the cart to catch a glimpse of what they see...
...and your jaw drops as well.
There, lined on the horizon, are dozens if not a hundred small points of flickering light--fire! You've seen this one too many times, these are lit arrows, ready to fire. You cannot see who holds the arrows, for they are too far into the darkness to even begin to make out, but you can tell they average humanoid size.
The guards, unsure of what is going on, look between Irris' screaming commands and the council for direction. Erid nods and the guards throw both the keys for the shackles and your equipment at your feet.
In the chaos, you've all been turned free.
The guards draw swords and motion for other guards to surround the cart--to protect the remnants of the 'Life-Giving Lake'. Telena draws her blade while the remainder of the council takes cover.
"EVERYONE! TO ARMS!"
With the shout, the flaming arrows are loosed...
{I'll post results of their attack next round.}
{Initiative: Romar, Telena and Tineniel, Prince Irinys, Irris, The Elven Warriors, The Guard, The Citizens}

{Realistically, there are hundreds more citizens and guards, but an equal number of Elves to match. Let's focus on this portion of the battle for now.}
{Currently, you are all still shackled, hands only. Break DC 25, Escape Artist DC 28. And you're weapon-less. You can take a move action to undo your restraints with the given keys (Only one can do this per round, unless you pass the keys around)}

Krysta -
Using your boots and finding it odd that nothing has halted your progress yet, you make your way to the pillar just beneath the hole in the ceiling. A strange amber glow flickers from the hole, sign of light beyond (if not poor light). Moving ever closer, you get the feeling that whatever lies in the room above is grand, for there are countless tapestries hanging from the stone walls and the ceiling of the next floor is at least thirty feet high.
Poking just your head through cautiously, to take a peek around, you can't help but feel this place is a shrine of sorts, a monument to the glory of one person. The same 'hero' is depicted in the tapestries around, always the center piece of the art and always presented as perfect, strong, undefeated...and wholly evil.
The artwork is of slaves being driven, temples being crushed and cities leveled, always by one man. This one man is depicted as a handsome human in his thirties and adorned with decorative armor. In several of the tapestries, there is a dark cloud hanging over the man, giving him strength to defeat good--signs of an evil god.
You continue to scan the room, until you come to one end of it. There, centered on the wall is a high throne flanked by flaming braziers. The wicked chair goes almost to the ceiling, decorated in blackened spines and wicked, leering faces.
Nestled in this throne is a skeleton--at least you think it's a skeleton. The bony figure is clad in armor that looks almost too big for its body, even if it was still alive, and leans on a sword that looks like it has never been used. The armor is blackened and decorated with unholy symbols, gleaming ebony in the torch light. You can only see a skull poking out from beneath a visored helm, signs that the wearer of the armor is dead.
That is what you think, until it speaks to you.
In a voice not unlike your worst nightmare, the figure leans forward and wraps bony hands around the hilt of the blade.
"Welcome..."
'The Master!' You can't help one of those gut feelings...the one that screams you've found who you came here to kill...
------------------------------------------------------------------------
All other in Fortress -
Watching Krysta poke her head in the hole, you can't help but wonder where the invisible killer has gone. It doesn't not hinder Krysta and does not seem to aggrevate you all anymore.
Perhaps it is gone?
{It actually is gone. it's job of delay is done. }

{People - On super-short notice, I'm going to LA next week. I should have internet access, but I may not or lack the time to post. I'm sorry to leave on such a cliff hangar, but you'll have to live with it. }
