Romar -
Leaving the body of your enemy behind, your heavy feet slowly pick themselves off, one after another, and begin to shuffle through the sand. Your gaze turns to the stars, but more importantly to the beginning...to where this whole war really began for you.
[Survival Check +11]

It will take some time to reach to Dune Palace, but you should reach it around midday tomorrow. You're much faster than a wagon surrounded by refugees, so you can make better time. It will only take a half day to return to the city...
A few flashes of light come from the Western horizon. A bolt of lightning, a blast of fire and flame...the battle for the shard continues, but it is not your battle.
[Let me know if you want to do anything special during this 1/2 day trip.]

Irris and Tineniel -
Irris looks to Telena, who still has her half-giant eyes trained on the ridges of the canyon. She is worried about her people, but knows that this shard must also be kept safe. Usually if someone wanted it this bad, it couldn't be good.
She watches Irris hop into the wagon, splashing water over the sides. Hurriedly and rather unconsiously she hops in with him.
"What are we doing?"
She grips the side of the wagon tightly, looking about nervously.
Clearing his mind of all things, Irris suddenly reaches beneath the water and grips the sides of the shard...
{The next part will be described by Tineniel's point of view}
Making use of his high vantage, Tineniel looses a bolt of energy from his fingertips through instinctual casting. [Lightning Bolt, REF Save @ +9]

[Results = 16] The mage catches the full bore of the bolt in the chest, driving a smoking hole in his garbs. [Damage Roll = 24] With a groan and a shudder, the mage staggers to the ground and leans on his hand. The soldiers continue to strain their eyes to the sky. You move over the canyon, flying high above the battles.
[Spot Check @ +8 But DC is 25 for darkness, height but you're still moving and the source of much light.]

[And they roll a Nat. 20! Results = 28] The soldiers spot you as you move over the canyon. They loose a few hopeless arrows. [Attack Rolls All @ +4]

Only one arrow comes close enough to graze your arm. [Damage Roll = 4] But it does little and you can shrug it off.
However, as you float high over the canyon, a new noise grabs your ears. It is not the sounds of battle, the cries of the lookouts as they search for the one raining chaos down upon them...it is the sound of a waterfall, of a tidalwave.
Following your ears, you notice the canyon below is awash in chaos. Water pours out of the canyon caves at an incredible pace, far faster than any pace nature could hope to achieve. Sand dunes are slammed against the canyon walls as water in huge waves pushes them aside like they were air. Rocks are blown free of the canyon walls, raining into the quickly forming river and leaving concentric ripples.
Among all of this, you see the wagon that once carried the shard alone now carrying your companions, Telena and Irris. Irris holds the shard and concentrates while Telena holds on for dear life. Amidst the flood of water, the wooden wagon--though laden with water and the shard--manages to stay afloat and has become a sort of raft for the duo. Among all the chaos it rocks back and forth, nearly slamming into the canyon walls as it's propelled around by some jet force of water coming from the shard upwards.
If you had to guess, you'd say the raft-wagon will float out of the canyon in less than a minute...back almost to where the camp was.

Those in the Fortress -
Reaching into the deadly trapped box, Yuri removes the handle and pulls it out for all to see.
It is an iron door-pull, similar to one you find in a castle or keep of a noble. The top of the ring has a square attached to it, where it would normally be attached to the wall or door it opens...however, the back of this iron square glows faintly and hums with a gentle energy.
Embedded in the bottom half of the ring is a small, triangular green stone, not unlike jade.
Aside from that, it is rather ordinary...
The fortress has not moved since 'The Master' collapsed to the floor. There have been sounds of battle, no sounds of screaming. It is doubtful the army has moved without the words and influence of 'The Master'.
And all you have got is this strange door handle...
