Shifting about and finding some parchment is easy. The people of the Desert Palace know that survival does not depend on a single sheaf of paper, so they have taken none. You can easily locate all the things required to write something.

However, the incessant mockings of the former leader are beginning to grow...cumbersome.

"Looking for some writing material? Going to scribble down what pathetic attempt you had at a life before you take the coward's way out?"

"Can't say I blame you. If I knew what was coming, I would probably take my life too..."

Growing tired of this fortress of stone and its tricks, you jump at the idea of going outside and cleaning up some remnants of 'The Masters' army. There is a colossus that needs destroying and an entire army of the walking dead that shouldn't put up much of a resistance....

Going outside, killing the collosus first, then look for magic wielders, then work our way down the foodchian if we even get thus far...

Adelia will stay behind, with a whistle, alerting the others should Yuri have found something useful, or in trouble....

"One more word from you, scoundrel, and I will make sure it'll be your last." He turns away, but then he adds: "And that doesn't necessarily mean that I'll have to kill you."

Finding a piece of paper and some writing gear, he is happy and sits down at a table somewhere inside. Dipping his quil in the ink, he begins to jot down letters in his fairest handwriting, hoping that Yuri will bother reading it all.

Dear Yuri,

I do not know where to start, so I will start with some good news. I faced Hirsuthe a day ago, and included in this letter I hope you will find a small token of my deeds. As you might've guessed, I hold the other tooth. It may be sentimental, but I hear that in barbarian lands it is an honorable custom to carry around the claws and teeth of the fiercest creatures you have defeated around your neck. Let us both carry this token around our necks, Yuri, for I may have been the one to deal the lethal blow, you have had as much a part in his vanquishing as I. And maybe, despite the fact that our friendship is now over, you will still accept it as a memory of the good days we had together. Carry it around with pride, and know that I will do the same.

I know you still judge me for my deeds concerning Veya and Mordrid. I can say no more than I have already, Yuri. But I think now that ever since, I may have done far worse things, if at all possible. If you do not yet know, than know that the dissapeared shards are in Astoril, and I am also responsible for that. But know also that the people of the Dune Palace must be given shelter for they will come to Ravenshead, and that I have tricked them into abandoning their homes. Oh, what have I done? It was all too confusing! But the walls of that cell killed me and how could I ever apologize for my deeds? And I still can't apologize, and I know that this is what holds us apart, and thus it torments me.

So I won't ask for forgiveness. I will instead travel with someone I found back to my roots. He is a traitor just like I am, maybe, Yuri, and I believe it is my destiny to travel forever more with tortured souls. I detest my own stubborn foolishness! My current companion has been the duke of Carealal, until he sold out his own followers. I'm taking him back there to see what he has done. I don't know why I do this, or if there is a boon in it. I don't even know why I tell you this. Forget it, Yuri.

Dear gods! Again, I find myself only thinking and telling of my own affairs, and in the end begging you to forget them. All the while you and those with you must be in a siege that none are likely to survive. Maybe this letter will never reach you, and the creature that must carry it will fly to its doom; a city infested by undead. Let me not keep you from your duties, Yuri. That I have done for long enough. Go now, and kill the Master and all his hords! I know it is what you have lived for. Let it not be in vain, you old studyhead! I know it will take more than a sword and a fist to finish it all in the end.

Tears still running abundantly over his cheeks, he begins to roll the parchment and bind it. In it, he also includes the vampire's right tooth. Before he goes outside, he takes his own tooth and hangs it on a cord witch he then hangs around his neck.

He walks out, and hopes that any beast will listen to his call from the desert. But he trusts that his magical bond with nature is still strong and will bring him a faithful winged messenger.

He would then entrust his letter to the beast, and send it to look for Yuri in Ravenshead. "But do not give it to the king," he adds in a bestial tongue, "and neither to one of his servants, unless you can find absolutely no-one closer to Yuri than them." He knew the animal had little intelligence, and that his task would ask much of it. He regretted that he himself could not be the messenger.

After that, he would find a place to sleep, simply ignoring his companion, unless of course he says something useful.
