Romar -
[In the interest of speeding things up]
Raising your voice as high as you can, you hope it will fall upon the ears of the keen-sensed bird quickly flying away from you. As you make your plea, you can see the bird turn wing again and round this way once more. It takes a moment, but the great bird dips it wings and circle around you, eyeing you. It speaks again, powerful lungs high above the winds.
"Fair deal..."
A few flaps later, the great breast is on the ground, neck extended. Duke Gramble shakes his head and moves towards the animal.
"You are an annoyingly dedicated man Romar Belamor..."
The whithered hands grab a handful of feathers and heaves his body atop the animal. You do the same, giving yourself a good distance from the withered shell of a man--easy to do since the animal is so huge.
With a shove from the ground and few flapping of the wings, you feel the rush again...the exhiliharation of flight once more. The feathers flap in the wind, so does your hair and you fight the urge shout 'yeeha!' as the beast moves through the air with speed and grace.
Veya would enjoy this....
You can't help but think of her on this trip through the skies. She was first to expose you to the fantastic flight on huge birds, and this feels like it did then...
{Just wanted to give you a chance to do something mid-flight. You should arrive at the city by nightfall tomorrow.}
{Oh, and how do you plan to secure the Duke when he freezes at night?}
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All Others -
{Yes}
{Until Dawn, or about 10 hours}
The blasts do ineed seem to stop after three. The foray can be quickly gathered.
{There is no need to play this out. There are four shards and aside from being super hot, they are fine.}
Healing is more than prolific here in Ravenshead. The clerics go to work fully and will not let you leave until you are fully recovered through the use of spells and items. The contingent that Sturmguard sends out returns a few hours later, near midnight, complete with a wagon in tow and crystal shards...or rathe one large shard about the size of four of the previous ones you had.
The celebration is epic.
Fires are lit, ale flows freely, happiness and laughter echo throughout Ravenshead for the first time in years. The people congratulate you all everytime they can, asking you questions about what it was like to be in 'The Masters' fortress, what it felt like to take him down...what you will do next...the questions don't stop. The whole town is swept up in celebration as they are convinced the war with 'The Master' is over.
You can't help but feel a slight pang of disbelief...
{Pause for nightly activities.}

Assuming we're healed and in good shape with the crystal's recovered Girud and Alton have nothing mrore to do than join brielfly in the revelry and rest. Through Girud's forse of will the pair would stay near the shard(s), hopefully cose enough to do something if more treachery arises.
{As an aside, Krysta mentioned channeling through the Master's goods. All that we have of him is his arms/armor from the fortress. I brought them back on my first trip.}
{Edit:} Should Krysta decide to hold a funeral for their poor lost goblin friend, Mordrock; he'll attend.
{Edit 2:} I know I'm going to sound like a calloused ass, but... did all of Mordrock's stuff get destroyed with him? If not we might be able to use it to good effect for the remaining party members. You know, in memorium.

Krysta went and put his ashes into a container, so she has them to deal with. She would like to see about resurrecting him, or reincarnating him, which would be funny to have him come back as some Elven or Human man, with Goblin tendencies.... KMAN's Call...

"Well, thank you. And your cooperation is noted with gratitude." He says to the Duke while mounting the bird. As he takes flight one more time, he truly loves the sensation it gives, but indeed the memory of Veya is always with him, especially now.
Before his spell's duration will expire, Romar takes his chance to thank the bird with words. Besides that, he says: "At nightfall, we must rest on the ground. I would've been willing to be carried by you in one long effort, but I cannot ignore the Duke. When the sun will set, he shall no longer be able to hold on to you..." he then realizes he doesn't know the bird's name yet, and Romar had learned to always be polite. "My name is Romar Belamor. Do you have a name, or how may I call you?"
In short, Romar wishes to rest on the ground during nightfall, maybe suffering a little loss of time. Assuming the bird agrees, they land somewhere before the night arrives, and Romar will set out to make himself and the duke a camp. He makes a fire, and had planned to try one more time to see if any friendliness could be found in the Duke. To that end, he goes out hunting for a while. If he is successful, he returns, and would turn to the Duke: "Care to join me for dinner?" He would also offer the huge bird a share if there was enough.
He realized that maybe the Duke needed no food or something to that extend, but he at least wished to make clear it was a gift. He knew the Duke's desperate search for warmth, and that a fire alone would not give him this. 'Strange,' he thought to himself, 'why can I forgive this loathsome creature who betrayed me and all my fellow townsfolk, and couldn't do the same when faced with Mordrid for the second time?'
Romar himself eats something at any rate, trying to roast the meat above the fire. He looks about, thinking, and wondering how strange a sight they would be if anyone wandering the lands would look upon them by the fire; a man, a half-withered skeleton and a giant bird sharing a late meal.

Krysta will await the response from the king as to her recent portrayal of the elven scheme...
From recent post:
"The elven prince had aided in our escape from the Boone's Freehold, on our first mission. They had 'allowed' us to go with them, more by the end of their swords and bows, than by choice. Once in the elven city, they told us of their weapon, and how the shards were needed to power them. They were selfish, and once we saw that they would only aid in recovering the shards, and not actually help those in need, then we stood our ground, as we fought them off. Two factions of our groups clashed, for those that were not with us saw us as traitors, when we had no little choice in helping or not. When we stood our ground, they turned on us as well, yet now, we stand together again, those that are left."
"It would seem that now, from some sort of intervention, the elves have powered their weapon, and are striking out at the Master. Hopefully, it will be enough to bring him down, yet I still can not accept the fact that they are simply selfish beings, only looking out for themselves. I would like to travel there, to speak with the prince. His mother is beyond rationalizing with, yet he showed some resolve. I would ask them if that weapon is aimed at the Master, and if there was some way to aim it at the Phylactery instead, hoping that one blast of that machine may be able to prevent the Master from rising again. But time is short, and a decision must be made quickly..."

She would like to ask the clerics and such for a chance at bringing the goblin back to life. If they can, she would like to do that. If not, then she will begin a process of a proper burial for the heroic goblin, where she can play that out as well.... KMAN, can he be resurrected or reincarnated? She brought his ashes just in case.

Celebrations can be heard thoughout Ravenshead with the death of 'The Master', but Yuri knows better....
The war is not over yet Yuri.
The plycanthrope of 'The Master' is still out there...
Indeed, he can come back within the next few days. Not with an army of that size for another few years.
Then death will plague this land again. I cannot allow that to happen!
What of Romar? You know what other crimes he committed.
Hirsuthe has been slain, I thank Romar and the Gods for that.
Yuri pauses and takes a sip of holy blood while saying a prayer, praying that Hirsuthe never returns to the Material Plane again.
I will speak with and of Romar later, what concerns me is what the elves have in their possession...
You mean what destoryed the fortress?
Aye Sindri. If the rumors are true, the Queen could be power hungry. I must investigate on this further.
The conversation ends with a degree of worry and sorrow in the air. His companion has turned into what Yuri feared he would when the transformation first took place, 'The Master' may not completely be dead after all, the Queen of Astoril has a superweapon, Mordrock the Strong died to save all of us, and the kingdom is without an heir. Yuri must know what the Queen's intentions are with this weapon. The only ones who would know better than he would be his companions. They set off with the elves when they were captured at Boon's Freehold. He goes and talks to Krysta.
Good Krysta, I know your time is short with the death of Mordrock and sorrow envelops you. I am sorry for your loss. But I am concerned about what just happened with the fortress. I got a letter from Romar telling me that the stolen crystals are in the hands of the elves of Aristol. Is it possible they built a superweapon capable of this sort that would destory the fortress, needing only the crystals to power it?
Romar also informs me that the Dune Kingdom has evacuated and is coming to Ravenshead to seek refuge. This is Romar's doing. For what purpose I do not know. We should be on the lookout for them any time now.
I am also concerned that 'The Master' will come back. Liches have a supernatural ability to return from the dead, even when the body is obliterated. The only way to stop this is by destroying the liche's box, or plycanthrope. His armies may be gone for now, but they will come back. Maybe not tommorrow, maybe not within the next few years, but when a new king acends to the throne, he will face the same foe his predecessor faced.
I wish to find out the intentions of the Queen and find Romar before he destorys himself or others. Will you help me?
He waits patiently for an answer.

Turning to Yuri, Krysta takes all that he says in stride. She keep quiet, thinking upon the words. The Dune palace, more refugees, the death of Mordrock, the new shard, Romar's treachery. She had much to do, and not a lot of time. This war had shown her that time is not always on their side. She agrees with what he says, yet knows the Queens focus is skewed.
"If you are to go to the Queen, then I should warn you. We had left on uneasy terms. We slaughtered their small group atop that mountain, and they had warned us. The Queen will not be happy to see us and would more than likely strike out at us. I returned there once, but that was to ask for aid from the Knights. They are here now, offering their own support. I will go with you on this journey, but first, I would ask to simply have a great burial for Mordrock, if the clerics can not bring him back to us. He deserves that in the least."

Yuri listens to Krysta's explaination and simply nods.
I was not going to leave until we did just that. Mordrock deserves that much at least. I hold no quarrel nor have I killed any of Astoril's people. I can hold audience to the Queen without fear of retribution. I will safeguard you if the Queen wishes your head. If anyone else wishes to venture with me, they are more than welcome.
Meet me and Sindri at the gate when the sun rises. Until then, good night.
Yuri gives Krysta a warm smile before going to his room to prepare for the trip in the morning.
(OOC: Gonna rest up the rest of the night and get back some power points. I have a feeling I'm gonna need them.)
