7 - 052: An Army of the Dark

Londo and Graak - The trek goes slowly, ever-moreso with the nags that constantly drag hooves at your heels. More than once you find yourself having to give the animals a rest and allow them to catch their breath.

However, the more they eat and drink, the better they seem to be doing. It's as though just getting away from Neutral City was enough for their spirits to begin the healing process.

By nightfall of the first day, about when you make camp, you can tell that the horses physically look, not just act better.

You ponder this as you go to sleep, your minds drifting easily into the dreamlands...

Elxethan - Senolai returns a short moment after leaping from your shoulders. [Spot Check vs. Disguise Check w/ Disguise Self = 28 vs. 29 (11 vs. 19)] She confirms, through a slight whisper that the figure does indeed resemble a one-legged pirate.

Though she has not yet seen Drop'Gar, she describes him perfectly, even down to flaws that you know few else would be aware of.

This appears to be a legitimate trade...

Drop'Gar - (Just hanging out? The seconds seem to drag into hours, hours into days and days into years...time itself seems to slow down in your painful position.

{Thanks..... I dont' suppose I could get a drink of water or somthing?}

Tired from hanging on the wall all afternoon Drop'Gar snaps his fingers and the locks holding him up instantly snap open.

He daintily climbs down to the floor, appreciating the feeling of cold stone on his tired bare feet. Shuffling to teh door he pushes it open and it moves silently on well oiled hinges. Pausing to check the hallway he turns left and instantly finds the kitchen area. Grabbing a silver chalice from it's resting spot nearby he locates a cooled pitcher of mulled wine and helps himself to three glasses, gulping the liquids all the while.

His thirst abated he turns to find a MLT (mutton, lettuce and tomato) sandwich fresly made on the countertop. With ferocity he did not know he posessed the sandwich is wolfed down quickly followed by more mulled wine. Aah, that hit the spot, but a little more to nibble on wouldn't be too bad.

Searching the kitchen once more he opens a nearby drawer and finds a freshly cooked and steaming turkey leg. His eyes going wide he snatches up the tasty morsel and begins tearing great chunks of meat off and wolfing it down. On his third monsterous bite his teeth sink into his tongue causing a painful wince as the taste of blood overpowers the meat. Ignorig the pain he tries to take another bite, but that damn tongue is in the way again. Looking to his meal, the bard's hands are sudently empty, the turkey leg now gone.... What? Where's my dinner?.... the blood persists... the taste of salty, coppery blood permeates all and it doesn't take long before Drop'Gar lets out a low groan as the pain in his shoulders comes flooding back.

Peeking his good eye open he surveys the dirty room where he's chained to the wall. Spitting blood to the floor through the gag is difficult at best. Unconsciously the bard works his jaws at the memory of that juicy turkey leg, not this damned steel bar. But that's all gone now, he's alone and imprisoned, and the only thing his dream managed to do was aggrivate his hungry stomach.

Around his swollen tongue and the bar prohibiting his speach Drop'Gar attempts to mumble a few reassuring words to himself...

"It could be worse.... it could...."

"That's pretty strange. We've got entirely too much on our plates to investigate now, though...even after we extract those two from whatever trouble they're in, we've still got the Gravecrawlers to deal with. It's my feeling that we should go back and take care of them once we're reunited with our companions...do you agree?

I agree, unless of course a greater threat rears it head
