We know Fangor is busy, so someone post for him if you like, otherwise he just stays silent at the back ------------------------------------------------------ Filing out of the cavern leaving the statue to its silent vigil, you pass a small bend in the tunnel. On the easterly side lie sheilves carved out of the rock full of mouldering skeletons. [Spot checks=Akatas and Coppertop pass] Akatas leading the way scans the area intently. Her eyes fall upon a stalagmite...did it move? Coppertop, seeing Akatas' gaze fall upon the large stalagmite looks cloesly...and sees it blink! Suddenly, grey tendrils shoot from the stalagmite. A gaping, tooth lined maw opens, and a cruel, dark eye focuses upon you all. She don't really know what the creature is, but to live in this kind of place, it is not worth playing diplomacy with it. Its expresion alone was enough to tell it is hostile. If only she could shut this eye by punching it, hard..
This time Akatas is in front, and she will not let any enemy get near her party again. She jumps forward, making a flip to land on her hand, followed by an other one, moving with a high fluidity, and throw a punch at the creature as she lands near it.

{Stalagmite=floor, right?}
{Know. Arcana to identify the magical beast. DC should be 10+creature's HD.} [dice=20]+12 {27 result. I know one thing for hitting the DC, then one more thing for every 5 past that. If it's as many as 12 HD then I'll know 2 useful facts about the creature.}
"Look lively now, this rock's alive!" Coppertop calls to his companions, just incase they didn't see. By the surprised looks on some of their faces Coppertop realizes that he's about all that stands between his friends; though as he learned from that Lion he's not nearly as combat oriented as he could be. Though he could wield his mace, there were others far better equipped to go toe to toe with the baddies.
Calling upon his faith he calls forth Light into being. The nimbus surrounds his body brightening the area and offering all the chance to see their opponent. {Nimbus of Light}
Use the rest of my turn to tell the team what I know of the critter. (Things like immune this or vulnerable that; soft spot here; look out for this special attack)[rand=760781534447362961931320662986794304462743194285116188177857979]

{Got a PM from the DM, I knows bank about this critter.}
"He's a Roper; they don't like fire; use it if you've got it. Be careful of spells; they bounce off his hide like water!" Coppertop finishes, hoping that his knowledge helps defeat the critter.
{OOC: YAY BOOK SMARTS!!}

Knowledge Arcana +14 [dice=20]
Obviously, when Coppertop shows the being with illuminating himself, Mal fails to fremember anything at all about these creatures. Perhaps he had missed that day of training on this creature, but as of now, he is lost. Coppertop expresses his knowledge with some quick information, surely directed towards the others. When he gets to the part about it being subject to fire, yet not to spells, Mal sours his face, knowing that this was not going to be as easy as he had hoped.

Ewan looks about the cavern, noting its form. He ponders the nature of stone, seemingly permenant, but ultimately maleable. In these thoughts, he fails to notice the danger directly ahead. . .
