The characters in "The City of the Spider Queen" are to made using standard 3.5 ed. D&D rules from the SRD. Any class, prestige class and race may be used as long as its in the SRD or has been approved for use here. We will use the points buy system. With 35 points to be allocated as you see fit. Information regarding the points buy system can be found here.

OK, i havent read this through in a while, so bear with me. However, i skimmed it a few days ago. Its set in the dales (which one i cant remember). Feel free to give your character a background which may include being a minor celebrity (by level 10, you will of done sufficnet quests to earn yourselves a name). It also contains drow. How you get together is next on my list. It would be easier if you were an adventuring group, but i can handle individuals, getting you all together.

adventuring group would be good, get's us going right away, and at level 10, we're likely to have done some notable quests. makes sense we worked together.
what does everybody think?
we could have a party name too. =)
how about "party of five?"

LOL, damn, if it's 3 times a week, I might be able to give it a shot. The Shorts is ending soon, so that would free up some posting time. Level 10.... insert drool here--------->*
Ok, count me in... I will be playing a fighter of course, Spiked Chain Wielding more than likely. As for the Party of Five, NO! LOL, How about .... uhm, ... ok, this may take some time...
When do you want characters posted? How much starting gold/equipment are you allowing? Standard starting gold for Level 10? Any limits on single item purchases? Will the books like Complete Warrior, Complete Divine, Complete Arcane, and all the other Complete * books be allowed for feats? I think that's all my questions. If it's strictly PHB, DMG, and MM, let me know.

Right on. Half-celestial human monk.
I'm ok with the fact that everybody know each other. Less trouble.
''Party of five'' ? ...no.

49,000gp starting cash. No item over 20K please. If you possess item creation feats, then i used to allow you to create the items at the standard cost for item creation, however, your xp will decrease and thus you starting gold. Also, if it requires special parts, then PM me and we'll work something out (Ankheg armour for instance, not dragon scale armour ). Any other questions, keep them coming.

Yup, so long as i can see what they do, i might want to include a few of them in the adventure.

Me and the Shakes were just doing the math and we think that it might not be broken if we played an awakened polar bear as a 10th level character if we adjust the following: #1 Do not readjust the stats for the magical beast creature type #2 Do not add 2 HD for the awaken spell #3 Force ourselves to keep the default feats and trade them in for awesome ones instead Therefore, you should let us both play this as a character. He will be awesome. He will complain about how hot it is constantly and always talk about how he wants some butterscotch. Even still, if our numbers are correct and we pick some well thought out equipment, he will be the ultimate tanking machine (and his saves ain't bad either). So instead, we were thinking about this guy: This one is actually balanced for PCs and has cool abilities, though ice balancing and snowwalking might not come up in this module. He's called the Urskan and he's from Frostburn. He doesn't have the blatant pound you into a pulpability of the polar bear, but he's still cool. If you are interested in having an artic tank in your game, let us know. Shakes didn't want to play at first, but upon hearing "Icy Polarbear Madness" she was interested enough to share playing duty on this character with me. Full stats available upon request.

Jeez, don't make me regrets choosing a half-celestial, damnit.
+14Str and +10Con. Yup, a tank.

I don't think our characters are going to have remotely the same battlefield role. Making a monk to do an ogre's (or Urskan's!) job wouldn't be prudent. You've got wings, DR against most normal attacks, and cool monk abilities. Don't worry much, I'm just tanking for the cleric to heal me.
So, whose doing that anyway?

LOL, if you guys can't find another person to game, I'll go it with an idea that Specs came up with during the WLD game. A character that he referred to as a "coppertop" the ultimate healing 'battery'.
Lemme know. Just like Fangor, I could make time for a few posts a week... If you want him, the offer is there.

Could be great to have a walking healing battery down there. The underdark doesn't seems the best place for a picnic trip for the joyful team that we'll be.
My character is mostly finished... but I may change some stuffs until everyones have their char up, though.

We'll just need to wait for Wicksy to agree to our madness, cause we've already got the polar bear of doom built up and all of his equipment is bought and accounted for.
We'd basically serve as the "ranger" of the group.

OK, any chance TZS or Lin could PM the stats for this bloody great polar bear? I'd be interested in seeing it. Also, any chance you could point me to the awakened creature section on the SRD? One thing i might advise though. If you can look cute and fluffy towards Dalesfolk (instead of the psycopath included in the pic), then theres more chance you'll not scare the crap out everyone. Thus you wont get hassled.
I'll let anyone play anything once. Although when i ran this module at home, i forever banned the contents of the arms and equipment book as one player twinked his character so bad, he could take out the high level drow in single combat (stupidly huge mercurial greatsword or something. Did around 30+ damage a hit, twice a round.
I dont mind twinked up character too much. Its only a bit of fun. But if you guys look like you could conquer the underdark, i will change things.

Bring on the bear, and the healing battery I say! =)
I'd like to play a Bard/Shadow Dancer or a Rogue/Shadow Dancer. We'll be underground a lot, so lots of shadows. Plus it seems we need some rogue down there.
That good for everybody?
I'll post my character sometime this weekend - if you all have a specific request though, to make the party work better, post it up, and I'll consider it.

OK, the adventure is for 4 level 10 guys. I read it last night. At the moment i have: spiral Althael Fangor Lin/TZS All i can recommend is that we have a good balance of classes. No more as it would be giving the game away I think it would be best for starting this adventure with you all knowing each other and adventuring together. That way, we can get straght to the action. If things go hard for you, perhaps we could draft in Japic to play as well?
