Sorry lads, but I just posted what Romar would do: Frightened but never to desperate to act, still youthful and thus somewhat naive, taking responsibility for others and defending them are his philosofy, and that has let him to his death now I guess. My hopes are based upon a coward's strength, Mordrid... I AM DOOMED...

Mordrid's a coward to the bone and always planned to escape. His breakdown was an act. Which is exactly why I advised him to stay. Saw that coming miles away.

Okay, Sehanine is prepared to walk into the jaws of death with the Rogue...
I knew that SOB was up to something, but did you have to wait until Sehanine was going trying to be nice to him? Dang you, K-man.
Too bad we need me here, or I'd be trying to track the idiot down before he gets himself killed.
Or worse, captured and forced to spill his guts about every one of the battle strategies you guys came up with!
Yipe!
Okay, Romar's gone.
Do I track or do I scout fellas? Either way, just let me know.

Kay, scratch that. I just finished reading the REST of the posts (Damn you again K-man : . I'll post my intended actions. Anyone who wants to ask something different of me, you can track Sehanine down in her respective locations. Guys, not to bust morale, but to quote the marionette's gang "Ok guys, I think we're in trouble"-evil dragon+1500 man (loose term) army. May the games begin.

Callian should speak up now, +8 Diplomacy!!! With aid from somone else, that could be +10... Unfortunately, having +10 in Diplomacy doesn't work if you say "Let's FIGHT!!!"No offense Hero, but that wasn't a very good speech. Try this (Yes everyone, this is the whole speech, with minor alterations of course): Sons of Blackwind, of Stonelands, of Astori, of the Gathered Nations, my brothers! I see in your eyes, the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come, when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes, and shattered shield when the age of men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear, on this good earth, I bid you stand, men of the West! Now tell me that doesn't get you pumped up right there ;D

You know, everyone keeps comparing this battle to Helm's Deep. Frankly, I don't see it. No, not quite true - I see it, but I keep envisioning another scene from an entirely different movie whenever I think about Freehold.
Willow. Anybody remember the whole segment where Mad Martiggan is hurriedly preparing to defend an entire castle practically by himself? Yeah. That's what I keep thinking about.

I remember that! Using the armourer to make fake warriors, to confuse the enemy about numbers. The crossbows all having triggers that can be pulled remotely...
Looking at the picture that KMAN has about the keep, I say that they would have a very hard time getting into the keep, as the hill surrounding the keep is high enough to defend easily for awhile.
I must be missing something, but I can't think right now...hopefully those damn enemy troops aren't digging a tunnel straight under our feet....

I actually have an idea related to that. Once people head to the war room, I'll resume discussion on here (or in the other thread) about a possible change of plans.
Or we can resume things the way we have 'em planned. But I don't like the feasability of that plan, especially if romar fails to break through.

If only. We could use a two-headed fire-breathing hydra-like thing, even if there's a chance that it'd eat us. That's where I got the idea for the crossbows-at-the-ready. I forgot about the fake warriors, though. We should set some of those up, too, albeit it's kinda too late to really fool anyone.

I had thought about that stand myself. Willow's got to be one of my favorite movies of all time. Now if we can only be as sucessful as he is. I don't suppose any of you are willing to fall in love with one of the bad guy generals and have him fight for us...?
Sorry, let's get on to the plans. I'm willing to listen and will go to the warroom.

Sehanine's running for her life.
You know, I'd actually planned on trying to talk my way into the camp as a double spy if I was caught, but I don't think the ghouls would cooperate...
Nor do I think they're much on love.

{For those of you that know me...} *Slams head into desk until the sweet bliss of unconsciousness arrives...* Just kidding, however this has been a constant joke in my dice and paper group. They always find movie plots, no matter how absurd or vaguely resembling my D&D adventures and give me no end of crap about it. So I find it funny that this is creeping into my online games as well... ...maybe I need to go back to DMing school until my adventures are original. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As for the speech: *Addressed to all within Freehold.* "We stand on the verge of annihilation...looking into a hopeless abyss and gazing upon a future where our very souls will become the possesion of another... this 'Master'."
"To us, our souls, important as they may be, are intangible... they can only be felt and understood as present when your feelings burn inside of you. They cannot be seen, they cannot be heard...they cannot be touched."
"Why is it then, that 'The Master' desires them so desperately?"
"It is because inside each of us, a fire burns brightly and 'The Master' needs that fire to fuel his armies as they burn the lands in their wake."
"I say we show them what true fire is..."[/i] *Pause for effect.* "We fight with our souls burning so brightly that it will burn 'The Masters' hands to even reach for them and it will light the night sky so the gods will rain good fate upon us...Because above and beyond these mad spectres of death and decay, there is alway hope..."
"The Freehold WILL NOT FALL...not now, not ever..."
"I have 'hope'...my souls burns brightly with it and I know I will not slip into darkness without fighting every inch of the way..."
"Who will stand with me and light the way to 'The Masters' downfall?"[/b] - Thought maybe you all could use a little 'inspiration'. Feel free to use any part in any speech. Hero's speech was good, just a poor roll followed.

I really liked this idea. Maybe my succes will depend on this, and thnx hero for taking initiative in covering me. I think it might be the difference in succes and failure.

I guess I didn't think about cover fire. It seemed too far an effort for me. Typically armies don't stop within firing range unless they're about to charge. But I'm all about helping to save every life I can, starting with ours.

What kind of castle has no balista or catapult, or trebushae. Newt would have know idea about such things but maybe one of the fighter types do
