So, I've been thinking, and there's two settings I really want to run something in - Or play, ofcourse, but I'm not going to go 'Dammit, someone should GM!' if I'm not willing to do it myself. Anyway, after mulling over those upcoming ideas I posted a while back, my mind's sorta settled on this:
1. Dragonlance 2. Dark Sun
I know I didn't even mention the latter in my posts, but inspiration for it has recently hit me. Dragonlance is sort of a constant pull, too. So, just out of curiosity, who is even interested in playing in one of those settings? I'm not saying I'll definitely run it, mind you - And if I do, I won't start either one until the actual Noctis campaign is going good and strong. But I thought I'd check and see if anyone else is even interested before I get too far ahead of myself.
And I've thought about combining the Commoners game into Dragonlance, so that might happen. Feel free to voice your opinion(s) on that, too, if you like.

just like my previous venture with d20modern, I don't know anything (yet) about both settings. Just a question as such (maybe others have the same problem): would knowledge of the setting be required to play in it? And I'm talking of basic beginner-knowledge, not the itchy details of course. Besides that, Dragonlance has always appealed to me for some reason, even though I know nothing of it .

Honestly, I haven't decided. I kinda want to make participation in Dragonlance dependant on whether people know the setting, but I'm not as worried about Dark Sun, since I'm tweaking the setting a little anyway. But Dragonlance has such an extensive history and involvement that I'm tempted to want knowledgeable players. That said, it's all in the books, so if you've read those, you're okay. I'll continue to gauge interest and decide after that, I guess.

In case no one noticed, I'm already playing a Thri Kreen in the Hammer Campaign, and those are hardcore Dark Sun. I would be up for it, if I'm not involved in a bunch of other games already that is.

I have an interest in running a new campaign. KMAN has the info, but it is a standard 3.5 D&D setting. I don't have/know the other settings.

I know I would be interested in a vanilla D&D campaign. Me and the Shakes have two theme characters we've been waiting to use for a while, but don't really have a campaign for them. I have no idea what your game is about, but you're certainly fun to play with, so even with my complete lack of knowledge, count me in as a potential player should you decide to run it.
I would be somewhat interested in playing in an old TSR campaign setting, but five years of careful crafting and playing in my own setting has sort of diminished my love of pre made worlds. There's something special about participating in the world building process that I enjoy. Watching the world expand and such, not being able to read a book and know all about it.

Well, if I ran the game, it's world in unkown to all. Self made world that evolves as the characters evolve. In the current campaign I run at home, I used the inro to hook the characters. Once they agreed, they then created whatever characters they wanted, from any town they wanted except the town where they are headed. Using those backgrounds, I made the area of the world that they lived in. From there, their adventures and such created/molded the rest as the campaign continued.
It makes for a very easy setting, as it is only limited by your imagination. And we all know the players here have great imaginations!!!

That sounds exactly like the type of game we play at home. Which is probably why Lin, yourself, and I spend so much time interacting with one another in the WLD. Sad thing is, we need more players up here in NY. So if you ever plan on moving to the area...
But anyway, sorry Udjat, I won't clutter up your thread with my random thoughts anymore

But anyway, sorry Udjat, I won't clutter up your thread with my random thoughts anymore How dare you invade my thread! Alright. I'm let it sit in my mind for about a week, and Dark Sun's still tugging at my brain. Not guaranteeing anything soon, but who's interested? I'd like to start getting plot/characters sorted out in my mind, now. ...So, in other words, if you're interested please PM me and tell me so. Include some rough character concept(s) if you have them, as they would be benficial to the process. And if you don't know the setting/don't know the rules, but are interested... PM me and I'll get you acquainted with the setting so you can make your choice. Look forward to hearing from some of you.
