First, Angelus ain't gettin' away without some Paladin Justice® delivered to him by two very justice-oriented paladins.
Second, Kman, is the fact that Japic and I have been talking since maybe three months after Marionettes started about the campaign. During the Black Summer of No Computer Access, those talks dropped a bit, but they've restarted (sort of) now that I'm @ college. The problem for you, of course, is that we talk by AIM to avoid being heard by...well...the DM.
That said, I'd actually prefer to keep Quitheren's current motives a secret (except to Kman, who got an inkling a few days ago), but I really doubt we could stop the war. So we killed a depressed angel who wanted to die. THAT qualifies us to stop ASMODEUS (let me repeat that for any of you hard of book access: CR 37 or so!)?! No way...not yet, anyway. Salunival may have a chance, depending on what his new hug does for him, but I doubt it.

As for BOYD, where did The Rock head off to??? Now THAT was one of the most colorful NPC's I have run across!!!

I just thought of that myself. He is there, with you guys, always longing for a little cross-species booty. Seriously though, Mordrock has a part in this whole campaign, so he will never be gone. On a side note, along with the next major NPC you will all know about, Mordrock is probably the most memorable characters I've created. Keep your eyes peeled...'THE ROCK IS COMING BACK!'

I hope he doesn't return as a half-robot with a German accent as you sure make it sound like that. BOYD; yeah the split-up is pretty awsome I think. Personally I couldn't think of a better way of dividing the groups. I personally hope all three of the parties will continue missing eachother but noticing changes being made by the others. That way there'll be suspension and still that adorable split-up. Not that I think the party Romar's in will meet up with any of the other groupes soon, if ever before the end. Who will get the most crystal shards depends entirely on wether the vein riders can ride back too, or if they'll have to go back on foot. I don't think Romar's group will gather many crystals without the tools needed though so it's between the other two groups. I believe the shards must be the parts of a greater thing long ago destroyed, like Udjat said, but this I think is pretty clear. Why they have different powers if they came from the same common thing is the real question I think. And the answer to that question I don't have, but I suspect that, if even the elves SEEM not to know about the splitting of it, it must be very ancient and perhaps the gods doing or so. And if it is truly such ancient knowledge, meta-gamewise I can't help but associate that very ancient tower on that island on the map with it. Just a wild guess though. Oh, and by the looks of that bitch queen (forgive my wording ) I'd say she really knows more then she's sharing. The master is probably a vampire if I may believe the tales of those knights and their fallen member. It is easy to think that he is just gathering all the crystals to call upon a great and very powerful evil source to really finish all of his plans to dominate the world. However, that which is easiest to think is probably not simply true. This is my wild guess based on nothing but simple imagination: the power of the crystals doesn't neccesarily have to be evil (the good people use them too) so maybe the master isn't that bad a guy but he needs the crystals for destroying the link between his by some force, such as the gods, doomed soul and the world, finding peace at last. That might also explain the reason the crystals were scattered (by the same force that wished him to suffer in undeadism)

The master is probably a vampire if I may believe the tales of those knights and their fallen member. Oh, that's right! No, I suspect he's a Liche, 'cause of that trick where they stash their true essence somewhere else. Sneaky bastids. That, or vampire, or something we've never even seen before. Right, but still pretty evil to kill the majority of the world, ruining their peace, just to establish your own.

I have to agree Vemu, I don't think the split-up could have gone more smoothly or been more beneficial... It allows me to do what I've always wanted to do with a campaign with this many people. Develop alliances, different agendas and yet, keep everyone cohesive with a single goal and infact, while seperate, keep the players reliant on each other for information and steps to beat the villain.
It will be a grand showdown for certain...

Since everyone's chucking in their two cents on the matter, I might as well throw in mine too I myself have not been able to play tabletop in quite some time. Was disappointed last weekend when I was suppose to be up all night playing D&D at the local hobby store. It turned into 2 hours, what a bust! I miss the tabletop action too. I thought about getting my own group together on the weeknights since I work on the weekends. About BYOB: Well, the splitting of the parties is a very interesting twist I think. I've never done that before in any D&D game I've played. Very well done KMan! Although I know it's very difficult as a DM to maintain something like that. As for who's gonna get the shard's first is anyone's guess. The group with the elves has the upper hand here IMO. They've already got two (unless I misread, I haven't been keeping up with the other two groups). What are the shards? Well, their obviously psionic, but what purpose they serve has yet to be seen. The Master is simply a biatch that needs to be crushed, that's all we need to know ;D

hey just wanted to make sure you all know it's just Romar disliking the idea of an iron horse. I'm totally looking forward to seeing what it might become, and I like the idea as I strife for a very rider-oriented ranger.

yeah if only you could drop in right now during this fight; I don't wanna get my brains sucked out; it's not like he can miss any of it. But in the end I hope I'll get my Húna back and I can call her Ironclad or something. That would make it worth it.

Wait, so Karn is a legendary hunter of the undead, and he died in fighting the most powerful lich-king, and his home was a giant floating GEM?
...
And there was a great explosion in his final battle that leveled a mountain.
...
This is all starting to make sense, now.

Something to think about: In DnD gems are often associated with psionics.

what about the flattened mountain? What does that got to do with anything? I assume you think this lurst-fellow was the one we're all looking for, right? And those palladins in Ephemyril did speak about the master being attached to some gem or something like that right? (too lazy right now to look it up And by the way, Yuri is going to get such a walloping from Romar if he sneaks out now!

We've spent this entire campaign recovering pieces of crystal that were apparently shattered from their original form. Nobody thinks that, just maybe, these shards are the pieces of Karn's house?
I don't think the Lich-King is the master. That's too obvious. But maybe somebody following in his footsteps - maybe a servant that didn't die. Dunno. The flattened mountain was only to illustrate the massive explosion that might be responsible for our crystals.
Though it doesn't really explain how they got to their present positions.
Just idle speculation.
