The pair of hotel workers blink confusedly at the sudden response from the small mob of newcomers – and generally respectable newcomers (with the minor exception of Tommy’s ruddy appearance). One keeps Jeremy firmly in hand, though, while the other moves to address your concerns. He tries to be polite about it, but he is clearly confused about the protests made by Rebecca and Tommy. [Fast Talk roll doesn’t really apply – you’ll understand why.]
“I’m sorry, Miss,” he begins. “And sir,” he adds to Tommy, though a subtle flicker of his eyes indicates that he might not be completely impressed with Tommy. “But this isn’t your average vagrant. The kid here... well, he’s an idiot, ma’am, to be frank. Everyone around here’s seen him on the streets. It’s not unusual to see him acting queer, but we can’t go lightly on him just for that. Our guests have certain expectations, and-” He is interrupted by Jeremy, who speaks while held by the other man.
The doorman holding Jeremy frowns down at him. “Now come off it. What are you talking about? Mr. Elias?” He looks at his fellow, but the other man just shrugs. But they both look over at Joe when he speaks up.
“Eh?” the first man says, bewildered. “You mean you know what he’s talking about?” In his shock, he lets Jeremy go, but he is careful to move back to block the door, eyeing him warily. The two hotel workers glance at each other uncertainly.
Joe turns to Jeremy.
The one that addressed Tommy eyes him skeptically. “You mean to tell me this panhandler is with you?”
They seem to have dropped their hostility towards Jeremy at present, at least until they figure out just what is going on.

"P-p-please, must warn Mr. Elias.. he's inside. They're trying to... rub him out."

"Mr. Elias is a friend of ours please let this man speak"
