Rebecca and Tommy-
Ms Atwright seems a little curious at Tommy’s requests, but doesn’t make a big deal about it. “Certainly. I’ll keep an eye on the books, when I can. If anything happens to them, I’ll let you know – and if I happen to stumble across more information about these subjects, I’ll send a message along.” If she is asked about being provided the research she considers it, a finger on her chin. “While I am curious about Mr. Elias’s most recent subject, I believe I will simply wait for the book. I have enough matters to attend to as it is.” She smiles, then. “But thank you for the offer! It’s very considerate. Usually Mr. Elias likes to keep these things to himself.”
“In fact, it is a little unusual that he has assistants. He must be onto something very big, indeed!”
But thankfully, she doesn’t press the curious abnormalities of Rebecca and Tommy’s connection with Elias. With no protest from Rebecca, the two investigators leave the Widener library, eager to catch a train back to New York without wasting too much of the evening.
They’re in luck again, it would seem. A late-afternoon train is headed down that way, and the pair swiftly book passage on it. Four hours later...
Everyone-
Friday, January 16th – Evening.
After a lengthy train ride and a much shorter cab across the city, Rebecca and Tommy finally arrive at the prescribed meeting place, [Where is this, anyway? Sam’s home/office?] their comrades having been carefully considering the timeline and how to approach Emerson Imports in their absence. Rebecca and Tommy quickly relay their findings from the library, [You may do this yourselves, if you like] informing them about the connection between the symbol and the Bloody Tongue most specifically. In return, Sam offers each a copy of the timeline he’s constructed, imparting the information acquired from Jonah Kensington.
It seems that you are all left with significantly more leads than you had when the day began. There are still some hours of the evening to work with, though it is likely that Emerson Imports will be closed at this hour. Whether this is for better or worse, one can only guess.
[Would you like to pursue Emerson Imports now or tomorrow? Another lead, perhaps? Just let me know.]

[Assuming that Rebecca has talked to Tommy on the train ride already, about all the information she discovered at the library]
Once they arrive back in New York, Rebecca begins to fill the others in on what she and Tommy learned at the library. Before beginning, she thanks the group for sending them the crucial information while they were there. "We wouldn't have known specifically where to look without the help of all of you," she says, smiling. "Thank you."
She continues: "I did some digging, and I discovered some, well, disturbing information about the symbol that we saw on Jackson..." She goes on to fill the group in regarding the Bloody Tongue Cult, where it is reputed to have been (Egypt and then later, Kenya), and the little bit of information about the "mountain."
"Now, we weren't able to find out much about this 'Mountain of Black Wind', but, we now know that it's supposedly where the deity of this cult lives. There was some mysterious references to the 'wind coming down off of the mountain' as some sort of cleansing rite, but honestly I don't know if this matters with regards to our investigations or not." She pauses, a disturbing thought crossing her mind. Some of Jackon's writings suddenly swim to the surface of her thoughts...
"Unless...unless these 'cleansings' that are done, by this deity, are referring to all the murders that have been happening. Could Jackson's death have been viewed as a 'cleansing' by these people, whoever they are? After all, their symbol was on his forehead, and.." She trails off, and feels like she's getting a headache. She glances around to see if anyone has any thoughts regarding this. "Of course, I could be making connections where there are none."

[ooc: For simplicity's sake, we'll hold this meeting at my office.]
"I'm glad you were able to find something, although it doesn't give us much to go on; not here in New York, anyway. The idea of a cleansing, though...that would imply they didn't simply murder Jackson because he knew too much, that he had some other significance as well. Hmm. Also they were wearing those bizarre headscarves...long, red headscarves. And the symbol, also the same. Why, this makes it look like the Bloody Tongue cult is at work here in New York! That big guy who stabbed me certainly seemed like he was straight from Africa."
Sam shifts in his chair, obviously uncomfortable. "I've been very nervous about Jeremy's friend, especially with what we found today. I think we should scope out the Emerson building, tonight. I really doubt we'll find anything, but I don't think I'll be able to rest until we have at least a general idea of what goes on over there." He looks at Jeremy "I want to talk to Mr. Van Dyke myself very badly. We're going to have to be very careful"
[Sam is more than a little worried that Jeremy might give them away if they're confronted by any Emerson personnel, or the cops, or if they find any sign of Samuel. ]

'Jackhammer' Joe frowns. "We gotta be careful. I've heard about the Mob using import-export joints as fronts to launder money and bring new guys in from Italy. And considerin' our luck with this whole business... Well, we gotta be careful!"

Wracking his brain to try and make all the peices fit Thurman is removed from the conversation and distant as he muddles his thoughts. When discussion about going to investigate in the night comes to the fore he speaks in his usual conservative manner. "I have no talent for suburban subterfuge, but will gladly assist where I can. Just do us all a favor and don't put me in charge. Archeological digs I can coordinate, but their keepers are usually long dead from this world."

Tommy takes care to put his copy of the time line into his satchel and journal, " I think we should at least check the place out tonight, and if nothing else we can leave our contact information." Tommy isn't really certain what course of action to take at the moment, and is trying to absorb everything, he will agree to go tonight if that is the general consensus.

Though the entire day Jeremy had been looking gloomily ahead of him, absent at all times except during his failed search for Samuel, when Sam mentions visiting Emerson Imports even tonight, his eyes flickered with a spark of sudden hope. Almost, he seemed to have forgotten about the hopelessness of it all, and indeed Jeremy dutifully accepted to join any such mission, there being no danger he'd not dare to face in order to find Samuel. If the others did not want to contact the police for some reason, then they'd have to go there themselves.
"I... I'll go too. I know how to be careful, how to remain silent, very careful, yes. Sometimes, some people, like my parents, tell me not to speak for a while. I can do that. I'll not say another word. Not to anyone. I won't betray you, I swear. Please, I want to go to find Samuel with you. I won't make a sound! Please!"
Jeremy was already half standing up from his seat, anxious to go to Emerson Imports.

Rebecca is a bit tired from their day at the library, but she agrees to go along with the others. "Are we expecting anyone else to be there?" she asks.

Sam shrugs, and shifts uncomfortably in his chair. Despite the long day, he's antsy and not entirely comfortable just retiring for the night.
"No, I'm not sure we'll find anything. Quite possibly we won't. But I'm worried about Samuel, who is possibly the only person in the city who can help us. We found out a lot today, but nothing we can use. It's all too far away; we can't go to Shanghai or Mombasa tomorrow, and we can't ask Erica Carlyle if we could please go through her brother's safe on the basis of Jackson's barely legible notes.
I think for Samuel's sake, we need to check out Emerson as soon as we can. If we find nothing, fine. We'll be out cab fare. But if we can find something, or someone that will help us, it'll be well worth it."
