Rebecca, Thurman-Rebecca and Thurman, gently disengaging themselves from one another, make the tentative decision to keep an eye out for further activity – either their comrades delving into the warehouse, or others coming upon them. They find a properly secluding spot a building over, to keep an eye on everything transpiring. [Spot checks, with a bonus.] The pair try to locate their comrades among the shadows, trying to remember the general direction they disappeared to. Thurman finds himself unable to locate them, but after a handful of moments, Rebecca picks out Sam and the smaller Joe from the side of the street. A casual observer wouldn’t notice them, but their hiding places are hardly secure. [You can mosey over, stay put and keep watch, or whatever – sorry I don’t have more for you guys right now. ] Jeremy, Tommy-[Spot/Listen, Sneak checks.] Peering closely around the warehouse, neither man spots any sign of other people – no traces of Samuel, the guard, or any strange Africans with red headdresses. The warehouse seems to be full of sealed crates and boxes only – excepting whatever lies on the second floor.
Jeremy closes the door, and Tommy secures it by dragging a heavy box over to block it. The two then proceed to the stairs, creeping as quietly as they are able to. Going up the stairs, the two spy a dimly lit hallway with a handful of doors with crude signs depicting their purpose. Most are unremarkable: ‘Bathroom’, ‘Break room’, ‘Storage’. Two stand out, however. The first says ‘Watch’, and is the source of most of the light. The sounds of a radio broadcast drift from the room, but it is otherwise quiet. Presumably, this is where the night watchman sits between patrols. [Let me know if you want to peek inside.] The other door of note says ‘Management’ on it. There are no lights from within, and it is surely locked. [You needn’t pass the ‘Watch’ door to get to the ‘Management’ door.] Sam, Joe x2-Sam suggests the possibility of entering the building, or letting the others handle it – too large a group is more likely to get caught. But perhaps leaving the two alone would be more risky, given what became of Samuel and Jackson Elias...
On the other hand, nothing about the warehouse seems unusual...[No real consensus yet.]

Jeremy, seeing all the doors, decides to sneak behind Tommy for now, hoping that he'll be able to chose where to go first. Jeremy himself was anxious to peek inside the lighted window where the watch could be, but he only did so if Tommy seemed to approve.

Tommy is beginning to think that this was a dead end during the night and that it was a really bad idea to come here, but his curiosity had to be sated, he turns to the kid and whispers, "We are going to check the watch room real quick, but if Samuel is not there, we gotta leave for tonight kid, otherwise, we aren't going to be able to find your friend, we'll come back in the morning though." He says the last bit reassuringly. He opens the watch door a crack and listens in before taking a peek, if nothing stands out right away Tommy will motion for them to leave, through a different exit than where they came if possible. "No, must check every door: Can't know which one hides Samuel." If anything, he would want to check out the management room too before leaving. Perhaps if he gets an opportunity while Tommy checks the watch room, he will try that door and peek inside. Peeking inside was like looking through the gates of hell for Jeremy: the word 'management' suggested to him that all the evil that had killed mr. Elias or kidnapped Samuel was seated here, but he was courageous, for their sake, not his.

Jeremy, Tommy-
The watch room is fairly bland - a card table sits on one side of the room, with a chair beside it and a radio resting on top of it. A set of cards also wait there, about halfway through a game of solitaire. Behind the table, there is a small shelf with a row of books. A few are bland references, but a couple are clearly journal-style, and read 'watch log' with a date range on each. Apparently the guards must keep tabs on what they witness.
There is no Samuel in the room, nor is the guard there.
Jeremy, insistent on checking every door for the sake of his friend, insists on investigating the ominous 'Management' door. It is, however, firmly locked. He will need Tommy's help to crack it open. [Going to comply? If so, read on, otherwise stop here.]
...
Probably reluctant and at Jeremy's insistence, Tommy tinkers with the lock. It's not an especially complex lock, and gives readily to his tools without too much waste of time - though all the while, Tommy feels nervous, as if the guard would return at any moment. But he doesn't.
The door opens, the dim light of the hallway leaking into the management office. But it's about what one would expect from a management office: a messy desk, a couple of chairs, a small safe on a corner table, and a set of reference books cramped next to it. No bound and gagged homeless men, no ritualistic headbands - nothing which would connect Emerson Imports to the crimes against Samuel and Mr. Elias.
[Spot check, Tommy success.] But one thing does stand out to the trained eye of the private investigator. A stack of forms are arranged on the table, and next to them is a well-used book - a log book, probably for shipments. In an Imports business like this one, it would undoubtedly detail all the cargo they receive... and where it goes. [Idea check, success.] Tommy has a flash of inspiration - perhaps it wasn't Emerson Imports that was important to Elias, but what they were shipping... and to whom.

Sam looks around doubtfully for a moment, scanning the empty street, then gets to his feet, brushing off his pants. Keeping an eye on the warehouse yard, he motions to Jackhammer and Joe.
"Lets get another look now that the guard is gone. One of you can wait here to keep a look out, but I'm going around the other side to see where Tommy and kid went. Tommy is probably the only one who can get into the building anyway; if it's locked like it should be there'd be nothing I could do. I'm going to keep an ear out and if they need help, hopefully be able to do something. If we get separated, just lie low; we'll meet at my office tomorrow morning. Otherwise I'll bring everybody back here once we're through."
[Sam sets off down the street in front of the warehouse, assuming there is no sign of the watchman. He's keeping an eye out for Dr. Osgood and Rebecca, but most of his attention is on the warehouse yard. Once he's at the opposite corner of the lot, he'll start down the fence on the opposite side, attempting to examine the whole property while avoiding detection, which takes precedence]

Thurman would suggest that either both of them or just Rebecca returned to the larger group. If they are already in an adventgeous lookout position he'll stay for the sake of keeping an eye on things. He's not aware that anyone is inside, but in general watches for any signs that might be helpful.

Tommy will give in to the kid, very very reluctantly, and only with the promise of being able to leave right afterwards. Popping the lock open and hopefully leaving it looking untampered with, Tommy will pop in and scan the room, seeing the book Tommy instantly snatches it up and puts it into his satchel and takes the kid's arm. "I think we got what will really help us, we need to get out of here right now, or we will never find Samuel."
Tommy will look around looking for a way out, if there is no alternate way out, Tommy will move the blockage out of the way in and leave that direction. He warns the kid, "If the watchman sees us, don't try to talk to him or anything, we are trespassing and he won't believe anything we say, just run, run back to the others, if you can't find them, go to Sam's office okay?"
(That plan also applies to Tommy, if the watchman sees him, he will cover his face and run towards the way they came in.)

"I'll stay here and keep alookout for guards or anyone else"
Joe hides himself as best as he can and set about watching the surroundings for movement. He trusted that the other would bring out something usefull.

"I suppose you're right," Rebecca whispers to Thurman. "We shouldn't just stay out here in plain sight...and for all we know, the others might need our help or need us to keep an eye out while they're looking around..."
She can't help feeling like she's in the way, though, even though she knows they probably helped by providing a much-needed distraction. She wonders what her parents would think if they knew she was sneaking around in the dark, digging through some Imports company...

Jeremy looks down from dissapointment when he sees the room devoid of signs of Samuel, but then sees Tommy pick up something of note, a book, but he couldn't yet see what kind of book before it disappeared into Tommy's satchel. Half content with their search of the building, Jeremy at first felt like protesting Tommy's urging to leave this place. But maybe there was something in the book that would help them find Samuel; Tommy sure made it sound like that to Jeremy. As such he followed Tommy outside, merely nodding at Tommy's instructions.
