Rebecca, Thurman-
Thurman continues to hunt around the shop, but he discovers nothing that alludes to the bat cult mentioned by Professor Cowles, nor does he note anything resembling the knives used by Elias’s killers. Indeed, the absence of a bush knife like that is almost conspicuous – even an old one might be expected to be around.
Now knowing who Silas is, Rebecca tries to get any other useful information out of the shopkeeper. Surely there was some connection to Elias and his work.
Silas shrugs a bit, fidgeting. “Some many years.” He does not appear abundantly eager to discuss the history of the place.
At that moment, one of the other customers calls out to Silas, indicating he has some questions about some item or another. Eager for the distraction, Silas hurries out from behind the counter to help the man, leaving you to your own devices.
Everyone else-
Sam points out the strange wino across the way, asking if Jeremy has seen the man before – on brief inspection, Jeremy can attest to the fact that he hasn’t. Jackhammer tries to quietly stare down the fellow, to discourage any more snooping. [We’ll call an intimidate an average of App and Size x5; 65% for you.] The wino does not seem especially frightened of the big prizefighter, though after a lingering look the homeless man begins to wander off, out of the court.
Curiously, another one appears by a different entrance to the court, slumped over by a trash can with a paper bag in one hand. Even from a distance, it is obvious that he has extremely dark skin, and is eyeing you in a similar, semi-discreet fashion (though hiding it with an occasional drink or dazed look around). Jeremy doesn’t recognize this one, either.
Something strange is going on.
