[As some of you have surely noticed, there is now a thread up with a chart of your clues and leads collected to date. I tried to make it as user-friendly as possible. Feel free to add notes of your own under that thread, or personal theories about things, subjects you’d like to investigate closer, etc. Anything you need, basically. A link is included here for your convenience.] [Don’t forget Hypatia Masters, as well. Her purpose on the Expedition is less transparent than the others.] Jeremy, Jackhammer-Jeremy blurts out the truth about Samuel, and Susan blinks, wide-eyed and speechless for a moment. She looks at Jackhammer (if he’s around) for confirmation, then looks back at Jeremy when the man is silent. “Killed?” she repeats. “Then we should report this to the police, Jeremy. And if they’re here, I can’t imagine you’re safe. Is there somewhere you can go? Oh, I wish I could take you home, like before.” She looks visibly conflicted and pained.
Despite Jeremy’s frantic behavior, the cultist-turned-hobo continues to watch him fairly impassively, unless approached. Sam, Thurman, Rebecca, Tommy-When the creepy car and its inhabitants are out of sight, Tommy moves inside to speak with the others, informing them that they are no longer being tailed. He also reports the license plates, but doesn’t seem optimistic about them.
Sam proposes going to Erica Carlyle’s again, if more research on the books is needed, and also suggests the group seek out Dr. Huston’s psych file on Roger Carlyle. But surely such a thing will not be easy to attain. Doctor-Patient material is not available to just anyone.[So far, I’ve seen ‘checking out the books’ and ‘trying to find the psych file’. There really aren’t a whole lot of other leads left (in New York), especially given that Ju-Ju House is likely under police investigation now. Let me know what you guys want to do.]

Jeremy, after quite some time, finally calms down somewhat after hearing the voice of Susan, and briefly his hopes are flared up at her mentioning her home, but of course that was impossible. It was apparently enough to make him remember the old days when things were still relatively pleasant and above all, regular. "Samuel dead; police, they called police, but too late. No, not safe, nowhere safe anymore. They're everywhere! Everywhere I see the killers! The others at funeral. Poor mr. Elias, dead too. Also by them. Silas N'kwane, bad man. Killers everywhere, Susan!" Then, a sudden flame was in his eyes, as he looked once more to the killer. He was threatening him, but also Susan. He had seen her, and now she wasn't safe anymore. He had to get him, and take him, and beat him, and make sure he would never do harm to Susan. If Jackhammer was there, he would speak to him, if not, he would just say it to Susan: "Must get him! Box, box the killer!" Unless stopped, Jeremy would now leave Susan and go straight to the man he perceived as a killer, and when close he would dive upon him and throw him to the ground. Let's hope someone stops me, or he doesn't carry a weapon.
By the way, good work on the data collection, it was extremely helpful. Though Jeremy doesn't understand most of it, I myself still like to understand the plot.

As far as I know doctors only share those sorts of things with other doctors. I suppose we could always try to obtain the files, uh, after hours..." "It's beginning to feel like we're running out of leads in New York, unless you all would like to do something else. A lot of what's happened lately seems to be pointing in Africa's direction." She feels a deep reluctance to go directly to the place where Carlyle went missing and where so many were massacred, but it's beginning to seem to her like this mystery has so many threads, all jumbled together, leading back to once place...

"We are running out of things to do and see here in New York, that's for sure. From an investigative standpoint though, yeah if we are sure to find something it will be in Africa, but personally I think we should go to London first to visit this Mr. Gavigan character of the Penhew Foundation. It was the last place Jackson was known to have visited abroad correct? We'd have the best luck concerning recent events there I think." Tommy puts in his two cents, not 100% about what to expect from the rest of the group.

Sam turns to Tommy. "I'm not sure if the Penhew foundation will be eager to help us, although we might as well give it a shot. Presumably they'd be eager to hear of any suspicion that Sir Aubrey might still be alive. Is there anything else that we should examine before we consider leaving New York..."
He sits back, eyes looking past everyone assembled. "I feel like I'm forgetting something, here."

Jeremy
As Jeremy calms down, changing from panic to resolve, he starts to approach the homeless man, intent on keeping him from harming his beloved Susan. But the man has been watching for just such a thing, and immediately withdraws as Jeremy approaches, going so far as to withdraw from the poorhouse if necessary. Always he stays distant from Jeremy and Jackhammer, watching but not willing to confront them - and not especially good at being inconspicuous.
If Jeremy continues to relentlessly pursue him, he will withdraw into a dark alley, where he is more hidden. [Let me know if you continue to pursue him.]
[Waiting on a more solid decision from the other group.]

Jeremy went after the spy, and chased him away, and followed him until he came to the alley. Even as he did so, his mind grew very much focused, and nothing but getting to the annoying man occupied him. He forgot all fear, even forgot about Susan - perhaps he even forgot about why he was following anyone in the first place, such was his focus on the task at hand.
But one thing he did not forget was the dark alleyway where Samuel had been taken and had dissapeared so suddenly. The current situation clearly reminded him of such a danger befalling him. He began to mutter softly to himself, as if to speak courage to himself: "Walk, Jeremy, walk. You must get him, walk..."
Then he ran forward all of a sudden, hoping to catch the man before he could dissapear anywhere or get help. He ran at full speed, and jumped straight upon the man, hoping to throw him to the floor. He was fast, and could jump far, and his fear was blocked out by the narrow frame that enclosed his mind. He would try to knock him unconscious, hit his head against the pavement, or something. It was all improvising; Jeremy didn't know what he was doing.
As he ran, he remembered it, the reason why he did it: "Samuel!" he said, almost shouted, as he leapt forward.
[Not sure what rolls I need to make, so I'll leave it to you to interpret my intentions mechanically.]

It would be good to revisit those books, but unless someone can pull a fast one and be a psychologist, they're not going to be able to se those files. Osgood even wonders aloud whether or not his title as a Doctor might be sufficient to gain him access to the files. Maybe he didnt' have to say precisely what he was a doctor of.
(i'm SO busy it's not funny; sorry I can't post more. I'm good with the group's decision. Though OOC knowing that Jeremy's got trouble may change things IC later.}

"Well, Joe and Jeremy will be back tomorrow, we'll see if they have any opinions about travelling overseas." Sam looks down at his half-eaten soup and sandwich, and then back out the window at the cars passing in the street. "I've been to England before, during the war...but I don't think I'd be a suitable guide.
Dr. Osgood, you know London better than any of us, have you had any professional dealings with Penhew or his Foundation? If they don't prove helpful, are there any libraries we could look through for references to the Cult of the Bloody Tongue? I know there are resources in England that are much older even than Harvard's library, and perhaps they could prove useful."

{Keeper, please fill in the 'in character' knowledge of London and it's resources please.}
When Sam asks whether or not Osgood had dealings with Penhew, Thurman's face takes an dark caste and he speaks coldly. To any present, it is apparent that Osgood holds no love for the man. "Yes I knew him, both personally and professionally. The lucky chit was the most prominent authority in the field of archeology; I'd say it's hard not to know a man when you live your life in his shadow."
He will relay what he knows of Penhew or his foundation without delay, throughout his mood never lightens. "I can try to contact the fellow on the card (who'se name is not in front of me), perhaps he will remember me and help as he can. Or perhaps not... I cannot say for sure."

Rebecca looks around. "Well, it seems like we have three options at this point, unless there's another lead we haven't thought of. We can try, somehow, to get a look at those files. Thurman, good idea about using your title as "Doctor" to gain access, although I'm not sure if they'd be able to tell whether we're being truthful about it or not. There's still the option of sneaking in at night, if we feel that this is important enough." She shakes her head, amused at her own suggestion and surprised.
"Other than that, we can attempt to look at Ms. Carlyle's books once more, if we think it'd be helpful. Those seem to the real things left to try in New York. I wouldn't be opposed to going to London if we think it might lead us somewhere new or shed some light on this mystery."
She is curious about Thurman's reaction to the mention of "Penhew", but doesn't comment aloud on it.
