Sam, Tommy-“This isn’t the usual shakedown, Tommy, and no, I don’t look okay. You can thank a place called Ju-Ju House for that.” Lt. Poole takes a moment to compose himself, clearly frustrated and tired, running a hand through thinning hair. “I’ve lost two officers, have two unexplained, connected deaths, and a lot of mysteries that seem to circulate around you and yours. So here’s how it’s gonna work.” He glances at Sam to make sure he knows this includes him, too. “You’re going to explain what’s going on to me, the whole kit and caboodle, and if I think you’ve left anything out, I will make sure you boys never see the light of day again, is that clear? I know you’ve been conducting your own highly illegal investigation, and I know you were the ‘anonymous tip’, so spill it.” Rebecca, Thurman-The cop gives Rebecca a somewhat dubious look. “Sure, I guess we can give you that.” He nods at her a little. “Why don’t you let me take a look at that pea-shooter while we’re here? Don’t act like you don’t have it either. Got a theory that needs confirming.” Assuming you hand over your gun, as directed, the cop turns it over in his gloved hands a little, examining it. “Yeah, this is small enough to do the trick. Explains those bullets we were wondering about.” He glances from the gun to Rebecca. “You’re not a bad shot, ma’am.” “Listen, let’s cut to the chase,” says the other officer. “We know your old story is a bunch of bull. So why don’t you give us the whole picture? It might keep you both out of prison.” List of clues

Completely busted, Tommy starts to fess up. "Well shit.... Might as well tell these fellas they can leave or wait if they want, it's a long story. I guess we can leave later." He turns to Sam, "Gotta tell them everything, If they are bold enough to come out in force like this and show some of their hand, they probably have me on something."
Turning back to the lieutenant, "I don't think there is really a reason to keep Mr. Gravener around after he answers the questions, you'll get everything to need from me, and I think you'll find that Mr. Gravener has quite the clean nose. I'll tell you everything I know, but we are doing this here, I'm not going to the station unless you are really arresting me."
Tommy reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pack of cigs, offering one to everyone around he lights one up for himself. "So Lt. Poole, where do you want me to start?"
Tommy will attempt to keep his handgun concealed from the cops, but inconspicuous enough that if it is spotted they don't think he was planning on pulling it at any time. (Conceal Roll at 48% [dice=100])

{Assuming that we're not in the midst of a crowd still Thurman will speak a little. Hopefully we're still near the crowds, not sequestered away from all eyes.}
"You seem to know us sir, but who might you be?" Eying the badge he speaks plainly, "More to the point, how can we trust you? Lately things have been highly unusual and your bold claims about us could be, as you say, a bunch of bull."
(I'm willing to be cooperative but want some assurances first. oh, and I dont' have much posting time. Edit: Also I'd like to sense motive or whatever it's called to see if he's pulling our legs.)

{Sorry Keeper, you'd asked for a few bits of infomation that we all pretty much overlooked.}
Thurman would have arranged to buy the books from E. Carlyle (money already deducted on my sheet). They would travel in a suitcase, padded with one of his spare suits. His normal provisions still stand as listed on the sheet. If he needs a second case for the books, he will purchase what he needs. Money for liner ticket deducted from total. Also, considered $40 in food/lodging/provisions spent since inception of game, also accounted for on my sheet.
Also have my pistol in the book bag, in the event that I need it.

Tommy, Sam-
[The police don't notice the concealed weapon.] Lt. Poole gives Tommy an uncharacteristic scowl. "You'll go to the station if I say you going to the station. I have plenty of evidence for the both of you."
After this brief outburst, the detective seems to calm down a little bit. He paces a step or two. "Tell me about your investigation, Tommy. I know you've done some looking around, and I know you found something out. So what've you been hiding?"
"I know you didn't kill Elias, or the big guy, Robinson. But you're involved - and so are those people missing from the crime scene. I just don't know how. And you're not going anywhere until I do."
Rebecca, Thurman-
[You're within sight of the crowd, but not actually in it. And thank you, Japic, for the list (don't forget to add the books to it).]
The cop gives you a good look at his badge - it seems legit. "If it'd make it easier for you, Dr. Osgood, we could just take you down to the station. But the Lieutenant didn't want us to take you two in, unless you're uncooperative or your buddies make it necessary. I imagine you're the type of folks that don't want to get your reputations wrapped up in a homicide investigation, so we're cutting you a little slack--for now."
"So why don't you tell us what 'highly unusual' things have been going on? Wer'e interested, really. Would this have anything to do with your artifact-hunting down in Harlem, a day before the place burned to the ground?"
[Psychology is the closest thing to Sense Motive. Roll kept secret.] Thurman tries to determine whether the officer seems geniune. He certainly seems to be speaking earnestly, especially given his close knowledge of your activities and the badge to back him up. Glancing around will even grant the archeologist a look at the squad car, parked by the street - but then, that could belong to the officer standing by the ship, checking tickets.

{Keeper, I'm not sure if the Juju house was in Harlem or not, but I'm going forward with the assumption that it was}
Not being terribly familiar with this countries law enforcement regulations, Thurman begins to wonder if maybe they should spill it all. Then again, Perhaps this fellow isn't entirely legit. He knew they'd been seeking artifacts at the Juju house, which had apparently burnt to the ground. Though how they'd know that makes no sense.
Further, the only ones he knew of watching them at the funeral had been the dark men in the car. Given the circumstances, he didn't believe that the police were in that car. Caution still evident in his body language Thurman can't help but notice that the officer hadn't introduced himself.
"This is all very unusual officer, surely you'll understand if we are cautious. I'm not trying to be difficult, but I'm still without assurances that you are indeed who you say you are."
{Keeper, I presume that I don't recognize the man, as such I'm very curious to know how he knows us. I'd like a spot hidden check to identify if there's anything unusual about the officer's uniform; dirty in the wrong places, holes, tears, stains and the like. I can't help but feel that he's a wolf in sheep's clothing.}
{As OOC thoughts: The only police to have seen us were at the murder scene yesterday. this fellow was very authoratative about our identities, not questioning in the least. The officer near the ship (if he's looking for us) is looking for names, not faces. It's all too convenient to assume that this fellow is legit. Then again, maybe Cthulhu has made me paranoid.}

Sam stands stiffly, obviously caught out, but unwilling to admit it. As Tommy speaks, Sam looks around disinterestedly, inspecting the police officers and Lt. Poole, fervently hoping that the police don't have evidence of their break-in at Emerson Imports.
[Sam is also armed, though he hasn't made any threatening gestures. Conceal vs. 26:

Tommy has a pained expression on his face as he makes the decision, "Alright, I'll tell you everything I've got so far, just come over here." He shoots Sam an apologetic look and brings both Sam and Lt. Poole out of earshot of the other officers. "You probably aren't going to believe us, but it is true. You know that I don't do shoddy investigating, otherwise you wouldn't be asking me what I know. Elias was just a job to me, he wanted a whole group of us in on an investigation of the Carlyle Expedition, said he had information about possible survivors and a deeper reason for why they went missing. When we showed up he was carved up by those dead guys you found us with at the apartment. That's when I paid attention, the symbol was the same as the one on Mary's head, you remember my girl, well she was a victim of theirs too. So I stuck it out, even if there is no money in it anymore. The gang theory we had wasn't too far off, it's a cult Lieutenant not a gang."
Tommy will tell him about most of their investigation, remembering to leave grey areas where he had to circumvent the law and Made sure to leave his friends well in a good light. Sometimes when things as horrible as this are happening, Cops don't mind bending the rules a little to get what they need. Tommy will specifically inform Lt. Poole about their meeting with Erica Carlyle and the Book on the Bloody tongue cult that indicates them as the killers. Tommy will tell him why they are going to London, and inform him of the State-side leads they exhausted. Then he will wait for more specific questions, if they come.

Rebecca waits until the exchange between Thurman and the cop is finished, as she doesn't want to say anything that might contradict what Thurman tells the man...

"He's, ah, he's right, Lieutenant." Standing aside with Poole and Tommy, Sam is a bit abashed. He certainly hoped that the police wouldn't trip to their side investigation, but he should've known that after Elias' death, they'd be watching anyone involved rather closely.
"I'm sure you understand why we were doing this, Lieutenant. Jackson Elias was a good friend, and I've never known him to be as agitated as he seemed before he was killed." Sam pauses, embarrassed to be heard aloud entertaining this nonsense. "I've never known him to be wrong either, and that includes being misled. He knew what he was doing was deadly serious. After that night in the hotel, we knew too."
