{In the immortal words of Udjat, F it...I've only got 3 players so let's move on. }
When Daniel approaches, Seargent Johnstone wraps his hand firmly around his pistol. He doesn't pull the sidearm, but you're certain a few more steps and this once-fellow soldier would be firing bullets at you...he's that scared by what he's seen. Giant men and swirling holes just don't sit well with the 81st's remaining leader. However, a good description later, he finally loosens his grip on the .45 and his jaw drops.
"What...but I...how can you...what are you..." The young seargent's jaw continues to yammer as Stone lays down a firm order. Clean up and move out; but don't follow. Training takes over for the leader of the 81st but he continues to forget protocol.
"Yeah, we'll clean up here Captain but... you are just going to leave? What you boys did here could really make a difference." Johnstone hovers while you throw gear into the back of the truck. "I mean it. Fifty German men just laid down...how big can you get?" Johnstone points a finger at Billy, excited about your powers. "And you, what are these?" The curious seargent points to a swirling purple portal seconds before Clemente dismisses it.
The rest of the 81st remain at a good distance, weapons pointed at the submissive Germans. Some of them have already begun to disassemble what they can; following Stone's orders. Others just take a well-earned break by standing watch over the Krauts. It seems there are some soliders that want nothing to do with you. Freaks, you can almost hear them thinking the word.
The truck grumbles to life with the turn of a key and as you climb into the confines of the vehicle, you note Johnston still hasn't left your side. "You guys could make a difference out there. You should talk to the higher ups...this could mean the turning point of the war!"
You shut the door on the all-too-eager man. He stands back from the truck and begrudgingly waves you on. As the transport lumbers forward with a jerk, you hear him shouting orders to get the prisoner stripped of all but clothing and to destroy all the equipment but two trucks. You drive through the open gate and into the darkened fields beyond.
You leave the decimated camp in your wake, wondering if Johnstone has a point. Could you make a difference? Could your newfound powers be used to end this war?...
{Because we have lost 3 guys, lets go ahead and level up at this point. I will resume the next post with the drive towards Berlin assuming nobody has anything to say to the 81st or wants to head another direction.}
