I'll definitely get something ready for the reading by the aforesaid Monday, though with the fairly involved tweaking there may be a slight delay to the actual first post. (Though I will avoid that if I possibly can.)
If everyone can have their character to me by early Friday give or take, I'll have the weekend to work on them, and we may be right on schedule.
I've got Rojito and Toptomcat's characters done and to them. TheUdjat and Bug's characters are currently in the works and Arclight shared some thoughts on his so I have an idea where we're going with that one. Those who have their characters tweaked seem happy with them so I'm expecting a very good result in the ensuing quest.
Once you have your characters ready on your end, go ahead and post them on the characters involved section of the DM shorts, but leave off the alignment.
And, of course, once you get your tweaked versions, just keep them to yourselves and don't post them anywhere.

So anyone curious to know before you're ready to send characters,
We have one Sorcerer, one Ranger (two-weapon), one scout (expert at ranged attacks), one cleric to whom undead will surely bow, and one Half-orc barbarian with good reason to be pissed. The party is relatively balanced thus far, of course in a game of secrets you'd want a certain level of self-reliance.

Once you have your characters ready on your end, go ahead and post them on the characters involved section of the DM shorts, but leave off the alignment. To help in housekeeping, I ask that folks put a game identifier in front of their character name/description in the title. Something like "Secrets - Character Name" It helps when doing housekeeping to know which game they belong to. I have a group in there now and I'm not sure what game they were built towards. Makes it hard to either move them or keep them in place because they're potentially in use. Thanks. p.s. if you don't mark them I can always go in and change the titles myself too.

Lots of classes get bonus feats: Fighter, Wizard, and Scout to name a few. Humans also get a bonus feat. However, bonuses aside, feats accrue at first level, third level, and every three levels threafter.
So yes. 2 feats at 5th level.

I'm still waiting on a few characters to show up. I haven't heard from Yakumo yet. We're going to go ahead and start though. We can plug the other characters in as they come.
A few house rules to discuss:
Tabletop, my group usually considered natural 1s on an attack roll only fumbles. Fumbles in our case meant only that your attack was awkward and you left yourself open to an attack of opportunity. We generally like this rule because too many monsters are too intelligent and AoOs just don't show up very often (Unless the DM is feeling generous). We don't use confirmations for fumbles. Your opponents ability to make the attack is the confirmation. I'm open to use this rule or not at all depending on what everybody would prefer.
PM me for actions that you want to take secretly so as not to show your abilities. If you decide to throw caution to the wind and reveal all to the world, that is up to you. It is not against the rules to let your secrets out. Each of your secrets has its own consequences if the wrong ears find out about them.
You might have noticed that you're hardly playing 5th level characters by now. That was, of course, part of the plan. So ideally you won't be fending off the same ol' challenges that level 5 characters would face. Be cautious. Several of you still have some level five hp or saves or other things that might be considered liabilities in this game.
In the interest of secrets, I have also come up with an extra secret for each character involved. This is a certain hidden goal that you might complete with good role-playing, strategic combat or something else entirely. If you do happen to fulfill the requirements, I will send you a revised character update who has unlocked abilities from within they did not know they possessed.
Let me know any other house rules you would like to see in a very experimental game setting.

Sounds good! The fumble rule is interesting, and I wouldn't mind giving it a go if everyone else is willing. I can't think of any off-the-bat house rules that I'd add, though.
I'm eager to get started!
