Hooray for me! And hooray for all of the others, of course... Shakes, you realize there's only one way to settle this tie, right? The PCs in IGTBE must go toe-to-toe with the PCs in Shards of the Dragon. 8 level 5 PCs vs. 7 level 8 PCs. I'm sure that's fair, right? Also, Vemu, didn't know where else ot mention this 'cause the Kronicle thread looks so pretty. I think you did a great job on the Kronicle. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Thanks for the shout-out to Venusian Skies in particular, even though it appears to have gathered no additional people (booo ). Looking forward to next issue. I'll try to write something for it this time.

I liked the Kronicle and everything as well. Good job Vemu. And wow, I kinda sorta won something, though apparently it has to be settled by way of a fight. I think we've totally got this.
And technically my character and theudjat's character were in the Hammanuva scene to, but I'd never think of being so stupid as to challenge a druid.
As it is now, I'd better get to work on posting for my characters if I hope to win that awesomest roleplaying award. Damn fussy cloud giants

Indeed Vemu, I again thank you for all the hard work you put into this. I don't know where else we can put it (enworld.org, somewhere on Wizards forums etc) to draw more visitors, but I will try to look for places it should go. I hope others will do the same. Again, thanks man! And Shakes, it was written as a by-law that one member CANNOT win more than one award per issue. Not that it matters, since you'll take over in about two weeks.

Lol, thanks for all the encouragements, folks! And don't be worried for posting ugly posts in the Kronicle thread. I kind of hoped for discussion there, which is why I added in the top section a link to all the actual Kronicles: to prevent cluttering the actual newsletters between the discussion. And I'm happy with the way things went this time, but there's much to improve as well. I had hoped for just a bit more voters, there's still a slight issue with what actually makes a Highlight nomination a Hightlight nomination, I'm hoping for more entry submissions next time, and so on. I'm also thinking of adding elections, like Kman's suggested OOC-elections, or splitting the Highlights Elections into Best Scene Elections and Best Roleplay Elections, the former being for entire scenes, the latter dedicated to actual individual player performance, with more focus on interesting oneliners and the like. It's cause I want names in this hall of fame, not just "anonymous" scenes (of course they're not anonymous, but neither are they very much dedicated to anyone yet). And I'm thinking of providing standard formats for nomination posts, which will hopefully make the Newsletter look somewhat more organized and will help counter confusion during the elections. That's the reasons why I haven't yet put up the next highlight nomination and game summary threads. If you want to give it, I will appreciate your advice and help. Oh, and Udjat: I'll try to get some feedback to Venusian Skies up for you these days! On a final note: the rules state a tie remains a tie, though if you both would like to, it would be neat to have a battle in the arena solve the tie. You could wager your entry in the Hall of Fame for it. After all, it looks infinitely nicer to be on the top alone, doesn't it? On a final note 2: Oh, and do you winners want to take the honor of having all the tags behind your game's name and all that? I guess TZS can add it herself if she wants it, but Udjat will need some moderator help. And the Newsflash should be updated too, but we can't put the entire nominations there, so we need a few short oneliners. See, that's why there's still much to improve.

Lol, thanks for all the encouragements, folks! And don't be worried for posting ugly posts in the Kronicle thread. I kind of hoped for discussion there, which is why I added in the top section a link to all the actual Kronicles: to prevent cluttering the actual newsletters between the discussion. Why not make each issue a separate thread? That might work better. I like all of these ideas. I'm all for standard formats and sections for OOC-comments and Roleplaying vs. Scenes. All good things. THis was our first issue, so it's understandable there'd be some kinks. Hopefully we have that worked out now! Well. Moreso, anyway. My question about this would be, what's the timeframe for the second set of nominations? From August 1st to October 31st? Hooray! I've taken a break on adding new material, as you can see, while I wait for more feedback. Plenty of other projects demanding my attention. Maybe I'll unveil one for next issue. Absolutely! Shards could totally use the publicity. Maybe then the players will actually post more regularly! Maybe Vemu needs to be made staff so he can do these things all diligently-like. Is it heretical to suggest that? I don't care. The titles people have on this board need to be updated, too. There are DMs who aren't DMs, and folks DMing that aren't DMs, some obsolete games are listed... Yeah, I do records management. It shows. Wanna fight about it?

Maybe the Udjat needs to be made staff too. But I won't deny that it would be handy to be able to give the rewards for the Awards myself - which would mean being able to edit board names and the newsfader. Though I still need 30 posts before I'm actually a GOD (which are rarer than moderators on these boards). Ah, the choices and sacrifices which we must make! And yes, on the 31st of October there will be the next Newsletter. And I'll start a new thread about discussions, seperate from the Kronicle thread. Though the correspondence between actual newsletter and discussion about it may be somewhat less obvious, it does make sense.

I do records management ass well, and so does KMan. In Kman's defense, he's been really busy, and in my defense, global moderators can't change anything which involved people's titles and whatnot (Though we can add stuff to the text of the different boards, not a problem.), at least not to the best of my knowledge, or I would have already been working on fixing all of that stuff. I don't think it would really be a good idea to start making everyone staff (though everyone around here probably deserves to be). Everyone's a DM already as it is. It won't be very welcoming to all of the noobs (in my opinion) but that's ultimately Kman's call as these are his boards in the greater scheme of things. But yeah, I've noticed some stuff too, you just can't fix everything if you're not the official Admin I'm pretty sure.

So, if there's something you want changed that I might have the ability to change, you can always just tell me or PM me and I would be able to get it done quickly. But I'd need to know how things are supposed to be formatted and whatnot, for example, do we just want it to say something like, Winner of KMan's Best Game Summary directly after the game title? Any particular color or anything, we have to resolve all of this before it can get done if we want to maintain consistency and uniformity.
What should the news fader say?

I think the Global Admin powers should be as powerful as me (save for deleting the boards, banning members etc). Shakes, if you click on someone's name then click Modify Profile, can you change what's there? Let me know if it gives you an error. Though busy falls drastically short of how chaotic my life is right now, if someone wanted to PM me a checklist of what needs to be done, I'd be happy to do it.

I wasn't trying to volunteer for anything just then. That might involve responsibility, and I try to steer well clear of that. Most of the stuff I notice is fairly nit-picky, and I feel bad bringing it up to someone to fix 'cause it only really bothers me, I think. I know that KMan does records and I heard you did, too, Shakes--maybe I'm just obsessive or something, then. I get a little particular about organization...
Anyway, I just figured Vemu had all these ideas and might have more time to implement them without bugging folks, and such--especially as K and Japic tend to be uber-busy. But my suggestion is just a suggestion; free to be taken or ignored.
Did I just say 'uber'? God, I'm a nerd.

KMan, when I click on someone's name, I don't have the option to modify their profile, only the option to send them a personal message which i think is the option that everyone has.
When i clock on my name, i can modify my own profile, but there is still no place where I might change any of the stuff which appears directly under my name, like the Global Modifier description, or the text which says the name of the games that I DM and all of that good stuff. It doesn't look like I can affect any of that.
Which goes along with what theudjat was saying, I noticed it all too and I would have fixed it, but I just don't think it's within my realm of power.
So maybe I could be missing something, that's entirely possible. But I've looked. We can continue this via PM if you have any suggestions as to what I might be needing to look for when I have all of my options in front of me.
