{As for the speed of this game, I know it's slow. I usually don't check everyday on this game either. If you guys are still hvaing fun with it, I'll still go on. Otherwise I can certainly make it inactive and start something else in its place. Alternatively, I can pass off the storyline to another person as well.}
{And our first Power Surge, hooray!}
Using your new powers has become addictive. It is almost too easy to let Clemente open a portal to only god knows where, to grow twice your size and tear up fences, to feel the earth beneath you as an extension of your own body. Now that you see the Germans have these powers too, it seems only natural to combat them with it.
Fight fire with fire right?
Clemente opens his hands and focuses on creating another portal he's become so fond of. But almost immediately you note something is wrong. His eyes shoot open, painfully, and his body begins to tremble. The air around you crackles with energy and the purple glow becomes omnipresent. The ground gives way under your feet and you feel yourself falling through a sinkhole.
You collapse to the ground with a heavy thud, dirt and rocks raining all around you. The deafening roar of falling earth continues for a moment longer before all is still. You spit out the dirt in your mouth and wipe your eyes clear, taking in your surroundings.
You lie on your back in a field, no lights to either side. No Berlin, no airstrip. There are some mountains to the North, the very tips of them capped with white that glistens in the moonlight. A chill wind drives across your bodies, unaccompanied by any sounds. You lie in a pile of dirt about 500 feet across and two or three feet deep in some unknown field.
Where in the hell have you gone?
{Man, 500ft radius teleport gone awry, I love it! Clemente, you are Fatigued now but may recover normally. Also, please make a FORT Save as indicated below by Power Surge Damage Variant;

Instead of, or in addition to, their other effects, power surges are potentially harmful and may cause lasting or permanent damage to the characters causing them, even leading to death. When a damaging power surge occurs, the player must make a Fortitude saving throw against a lethal damage bonus equal to half the character’s power level. Players can spend hero points normally on the save against a damaging power surge. You can also choose to have damaging power surges resisted by a different save, such as Will.
At the GM’s option, the number of surge points the character possesses may increase the damaging effects of a power surge. Increase the surge’s damage bonus by 1 per surge point. This means massive power surges are more likely to seriously injure or kill.
