Everyone-
Saturday, January 31st, Late Evening London – The Blue Pyramid Club
Agreeing at least to investigate the Blue Pyramid Club, the place where several of the Egyptian victims frequented, you must wait for the dark of night, when such places open up to do most of their business. The hours you are forced to wait are restless and anxious, as you eagerly anticipate the chance to unravel more of this mystery—or perhaps nothing at all.
When the hour arrives when you can enter without looking too prompt, you take a trip into Soho where the club is located, having a fairly easy time finding parking outside the building. It is an inconspicuous establishment, built of plain brick and standing at a mere two stories high. The windows of the place are blackened, suggesting the reputation of the club is about what you expected—a lounge, of sorts, catering to Egyptians.
Inside, the club likewise meets expectations. Egyptian music plays throughout the club, though it is not the class of place to have a live band. A full bar is easily visible and well-attended, and there appear to be other ethnic snacks and appetizers available for purchase, as a glance around at a plethora of full tables would suggest. But all of this is merely background, for the central focus of the club is quite obviously the floor show.
The Blue Pyramid Club is full of dancers; attractive young women in suggestive and too-revealing outfits, dancing coquettishly around the tables where patrons smile and applaud, laughing and tucking pound notes in the straps of their outfits. Their costumes are largely Egyptian-themed, or at least pretend to be, and they seem, on the whole, skilled at what it is they do.
It is, by all appearances, an Egyptian gentlemen’s club. The clientele is almost universally male, as one might expect, and the well-coiffed and out-of-place Rebecca receives her fair share of looks from the handful of patrons that aren’t fixated on the dancers. The Caucasian men also receive a few looks, but the patronage isn’t exclusively foreign—just mostly foreign.
Tommy casts his trained, suspicious eye around the club, and after some searching spies someone familiar—the spice dealer, Tewfik al-Sayed. He seems to be talking and laughing jovially with a few other foreign men, paying the usual attention to the club’s... attractions.
In perhaps the exact same moment, Colonel Grey also casts his eyes in that direction, and sees precisely the same man—but it is clear to him that the man is not Tewfik al-Sayed, but merely a man that looks much like him. He continues looking over the club, noting nothing else out of the ordinary.

(OOC: Udjat you are a tricky bastard, haha)
After conferring with Rebecca, who also saw Tewfik but did not speak to him, how certain are we that the man we see is in fact Tewfik? (I don't want to call attention to myself while figuring this out)

Gray looks around the club, obviously a little out of place, not being Egyptian and all that, but he seemed to keep a professional detachedness toward the appealing atmosphere. He saw nothing that stroke him as immediately suspicious, and looked to the others for further ideas. Oblivious to Tommy's recognition of Tewfik, he said: "Let us ask our questions and be done with it, though I see nothing out of the ordinary. No need to make any more of a show than we already have." His words were a little silenced, as Gray feared to be overheard by any murderers as they discussed their investigation.

Reacting on gut instinct and hoping that the rest take care of what needs to be attended to here, Tommy turns to Rebecca on his way out, "I'll meet you guys at the Doc's place later tonight, or tomorrow morning."
With that Tommy leaves the Blue Pyramid discreetly and heads back to Tewfik's shop. Case the place on the outside and if Tommy doesn't believe anyone is inside he will attempt to pick the lock of the least visible entrance.

Gray turns around shocked at seeing Tommy leave so abruptly. He puts a hand on his shoulder as he leaves and asks, perhaps a little sternly, but never seemingly able to shake of his air of politeness altogether: "Hold there, mr. Cannon. We just got here. Now what is the sudden hurry?"

Rebecca isn't sure what she expected, but she definitely feels like even trying to blend in, in a place like this, would be futile. It's painfully obvious how out of place she is. She can feel the multitude of eyes on her, uncomfortably intense, as she stands with the others. She adjusts her skirt self-consciously.
When she sees the man who appears to be the same man that they saw earlier in the shop, she freezes, instinctively turning slightly away from the man's line of sight in case he saw her. However, after discreetly glancing back at him a few seconds later, it's apparent he couldn't care less about her appearance. In fact, he doesn't seem to recognize her. Wait...IS he the same man, or just someone with an uncanny resemblance?
As Tommy makes his rapid exit, she, confused, starts to ask him why he's leaving, but it appears that Gray is about to ask him the same question.

A little frazzled by being stopped, Tommy hisses out a response quickly, hoping it will satisfy the Colonel. He knows the Colonel would turn him in if he suspected he was about to get involved in some dirty work so he did what Tommy always does in these situations, he lied. "I know we just got here, and," Tommy glances around, careful not to look at the Egyptian who is strikingly familiar to Tewfik "I think you, the Doc, and Rebecca can handle this place. Just ask a few questions see if it leads anywhere, if not don't worry about it too much. Just enjoy the ladies, they seem very nice here." Having stalled adequately to come up with a response Tommy slickly adds in, "I had a contact in London that I just remembered. I actually feel quite foolish for not remembering her earlier, Jesse Morgan. She might be able to let me in on what has been happening murder-wise at least, to see if it is gang-related. I need to go alone though, she's not the type to take to....well you or the bookworms. No offense."
Gently brushing the hand off of his shoulder and adjusting his coat Tommy smiles, "I can meet back up with you guys are either Yours or the Doc's Flat, hell even a hotel. Whichever you prefer."
[OOC: Fast Talk roll to get the Colonel to believe Tommy if needed.]

Regardless of whether the colonel believes him or not, he will find it a strange course of action indeed. Looking briefly at his other companions, trying to gauch what they are thinking, he says: "Actually, I think the three of us are perhaps the least able to handle this place. Can't your contact wait? I do not presume you had any urgent appointment with her, as you just remembered her?" Somewhat more forcefully, but hidden by an almost cheerful wit, he then adds: "Now, mr. Cannon, I was about to propose that you should be the one to ask the questions here, given that some types do not take to me, or the bookworms."
The colonel would think it very strange if Tommy would go now, though he's not the kind of man to prevent him from leaving by force, especially since he's still the newcomer around here. Indeed, he felt a bit like he was doing what he hoped Thurman would do. He looked at him for confirmation of his actions, or a sign that Gray was going too far.

Sigh, "Alright, I'll stick around if you are worried......maybe another night then." Tommy says somewhat to himself.
"Just try to blend in why don't you? If we are all talking and asking questions, we are going to look like cops and not patrons, so why won't you get a table and watch the women or the patrons, whichever strikes your fancy more."
Tommy himself, without might of a plan sits down at the bar and orders a drink, something he can't do without a little fear back home. After his second drink he'll try to strike up a conversation with the bartender, "This is a pretty nice bar you have here, across the pond we can't have nice things like this, damn temperance movement and prohibition."

Thurman is in full agreeance with Gray's take on the situation, why come to investigate and then immediately take off? Thurman hadn't known Tommy all that long, but it did seen unusual even for him.
Looking at the dancing ladies Thurman immediately feels abd about brinign Rebecca in without knowing what it was about. Ladies did not normally frequent Gentlemen's Clubs. If she wishes to go, thurman will offer her an escort, if not, then he'll grab a table away from the action, where she will not feel so intimidated by the women.
{As an OOC Moment, if the fellow we're observing is not our guy, then who is the double and why does Twopak (I know it's wrong) need a stand in? I'm confused.}

Lol, my take on this is that to an uneducated mind and unexperienced eye, like that of Tommy's, any Egyptian man looks alike; dark hair, eyes, skin and all that. But Gray knows better of course. J/K.

[I let the dice fall where they may. Glad to see so many posts! Wanted to check about actions, though. I have Tommy heading to the bar, Thurman/Rebecca getting an out-of-the-way table, and what of the Colonel? Anyone want to do anything else, or just look around?]

If she wishes to go, thurman will offer her an escort, if not, then he'll grab a table away from the action, where she will not feel so intimidated by the women. Rebecca does feel somewhat awkward, and also a bit amused--but she came here to lend her help in investigating (even indirectly)..so she agrees with Thurman in getting a table somewhat out of the way of the middle of the activity, but still close enough that they can see the others and most of the patrons if something ends up happening that she and Thurman would want to see. Or, she is also willing to accompany the rest of them or attempt to strike up conversation with nearby patrons if it would help them gather any information. "It would probably look odd if we went around in a group talking to people," she adds, "so I think we should either get tables near each other, or we should split up and have some of us get a table to blend in, while others try to talk to some people here...any ideas?"

Gray, once having convinced Tommy to stay, nods thankfully at him, and will then sit down with Thurman and Rebecca, taking a seat where he may look at Tommy's activities; not that his distrust for Tommy was suddenly that great, but more out of genuine curiosity. Still, there was something mightily strange about Tommy's awkward behaviour. Gray is silent for a bit, watching Tommy, then says to his friends Thurman and Rebecca: "I think there is something going on in the head of our PI, that he doesn't want us to know about." His tone was less suspicious than matter-of-factly, and his remark was as plain as it was sudden, given his silence so far while he sat at the table.

{correct for me keeper}
Thurman nods absently to Gray, he had to agree that Tommy hadd something strange about him tonight, but since they'd not really been acquaintences all that long, he puts is off as possible unsteadiness in the mind. They had all had nightmares since becoming involved with this mess, Thurman can only wonder if Tommy was coming unhinged. Then again, he had every right to be unhinged. Life was becoming very strange these days.
Hopefully they would get some service, being outsiders and all that.
