Happy birthday man! Is your birthday far away enough that you get seperate presents? Hope its at least far away enough that they dont recycle the cake ;D

No I don't normally eat christmas pud either. Luckily we had lemon merange, chocolate cheese cake and an ice cream bomb as alternatives

"Yonks," everytime, something new with you guys.
Happy belated birthday Similar, and Happy new year, a little late too on that one I guess.
We just have Christmas cookies here. So you'd be entitled to Christmas cookies and Birthday cake.
And the New Year's whiskey of course.

We need to petition you guys to have all your conversations online from now on, because I love reading over the Brit slang. I love to turn around and use it on a friend of mine in the area from across the pond and watch her blink in confusion.
Though I'm not sure about the Christmas 'pud'.
Is Christmas cake some kind of tradition over there? I don't remember ever having cake at Christmas personally--just pie. Mmm, pie...
Oh, and happy birthday!

I did not even notice any slang.
Christmas cake is traditional yes. A fruit cake covered in marzipan, covered in icing, covered in decorations. Many birthday cakes are similar.
Christmas pud. Pud is short for pudding. Which means dessert. It ic carrot, various dried fruits, suet and stuff all steeped in some sort of booze and apprently best left to mature for three years. It normally has brandy poored over it and set fire to before serving. It is quite rich and I do not normally eat it.
