Stacking

In most cases, modifiers to a given check or roll stack (combine for a cumulative effect) if they come from different sources and have different types (or no type at all), but do not stack if they have the same type or come from the same source (such as the same spell cast twice in succession). If the modifiers to a particular roll do not stack, only the best bonus and worst penalty applies. Dodge bonuses and circumstance bonuses however, do stack with one another unless otherwise specified.

Also, Where is Plague from? Do you mean Plague of Undead?

Re: ioun stones: All right, but frankly it's tough to see what else to invest in.

Re: Plague: PHB II, I think. 1/2 CL enemies contract a specific nonmagical disease, one that deals ability damage every round instead of every day. As is normal for diseases, if they fail the initial Fortitude save, they have to make two consecutive Fortitude saves for them to shake it off entirely.
It's not exactly optimal, but if I just wanted to win I'm pretty confident I could find a way to get off five Forcecages in one round. I think with Arcane Thesis (Greater Celerity) and Twin Spell. Plague is about making 'em suffer :-)

So I was looking at the spell Plague today, good spell, but isn't it 8th level? How do you have them maximized then? I know you have Arcane Thesis to reduce Maximize by one, but that would still put it at 10th level. Or is there something else that I'm missing?
